We popped in after a trip to the beach. Fish and chips were delicious

This is a take-away food destination of choice whenever I’m in the area. The fish is great (the batter is great) and the chips are generally good to very good (there has been some variation over the years but nothing disappointing), although not the best I’ve tasted. I can be pretty fussy on chips having tasted many over the years. Portion sizes are good too! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Fish was good if expensive, but the chips where very disappointed, also cash only which was annoying

Popped into this chip shop one lunch time as we were passing, we only had chips but they were fantastic, moving to the area very soon so this could become our local shop..

Ordered fish and chips here several times and always receive good, friendly service. Can often be quite busy however you’re never left waiting too long and food is fresh!

Prices are a little high but what you come to expect from a touristy area. Food is lovely and fresh though - highly recommend the cod bites!

Was away for a couple of days and fancied fish and chips, driving along and came across this place, great fish crisp thin batter and great chips as well loads there, if down that way again we're definatly go back.... thankyou

It might have been great, but it's cash only, with the Londis next door having big signs saying no cash machine and no cash back, so we went elsewhere.

Been driving here for many years just to get fish and chips. My husband likes the batter as it is ‘light’ and not thick. The lady who works there is particularly helpful.

In my opinion to many chips (waste).therefore to expensive, be nice to see SOME change from a tenner for a decent meal for 1 ie fish and chips....x

Fresh food took a while for the food to be made but is worth the wait as they were taking large orders during lunch time. The only downfall was that they only accept cash payments.

All food cooked to order and sp always piping hot and delicious! Cash only..... but worth heading to the ATM!

Edit: you no longer get the amount you used to, so it doesn't represent value for money and if anything is now too expensive. There's no way it should cost £30 for 2 x cod and chips.

£10 for Haddock! £5.40 just up the road at Varne. Total rip off, why would anyone pay that and cash only

£8 for a tiny piece of cod. £4.80 for large chips. RIDICULOUS. Food is ok but won't be going back

Lovely fish and chips all cooked fresh to order and reasonably priced. Parking on road or there’s a car park just across the road. Friendly helpful staff

Ordering food was simple and freshly cooked. At the time of our visit, it was cash only. Very friendly staff. Not ample parking but we found parking nearby. Toilets, if required, are a short walk away. Our family loved the fish and chips and crispy fried chicken wings.

ordered battered sausage + Fish and Chips for me and mum The battered sausage was well cooked with a thin crispy batter. The Fish and Chips was very poor, although a good sized portion of chips they were very dry and tasteless, the fish was not much better, slightly undercook, but consisted mainly of batter and skin. and again very disapointing, Not the cheapest, and certainly not the best Better options elshwhere

Tasty chips! Cash payments only!

This place is about the take away food, and then enjoying it near the beach. You make your own atmosphere and fun when you can go any time of day, year or weather and know you will consistantly receive tasty cod and chips. Never had greasy or tiny portions served over the last 3 years. The staff seem to change, but the quality of the food doesn't.

Food was extortionate for one. Secondly my wife’s burger was missing and left to one side when the bags were packed, which we only noticed when we arrived back to our caravan site. When we called to the take out to ask if it had been forgotten we were told right away, ‘yes’, but when asked if it could be dropped to us as it was your error……we were met by a straight ‘no’. So I had to wake up my boy, who had just fallen to sleep in my car on the way back, to drive back to the take out to collect the burger. When I explained and was obviously quiet bermuzed by the situation the lady behind the counter offered me ‘a drink or two’ for my inconvenience. So the food was wrong, we paid in cash so they can avoid paying tax (which is a taxman’s dream), then I had to drive to the take out to collect my food…….. What a joke! When I aired my frustration it was as if nobody had a tongue in the mouth to answer. I’ll be making sure everyone I know in and around the area will be recommended to avoid this farce of a business.

These guys did fish and chips and everything else for around 17 of us and it was all great. Highly recommended!

My family and I have been coming here for several years as we all agree that the fish and chips is the best we have ever had, anywhere! Fact! We actually live over 100 miles away but have family in Kent, which gives us the excuse to travel down to the area. Even though they live 25 miles from Greatstone Beach, whenever we visit them, at any time of year, we make the effort to make the extra journey to Greatstone, rather than any other beach, just for the fish and chips! As some reviews mention, they are quite pricey, but we feel it is worth it for the taste and quality. However, we are hoping they don't go up in price again soon though!

Far too long to wait for food nearly 30mins only had chips sausage and nuggets why do they not have some already cooked and prepared like they use to ,they were all cooked lovely and well enjoyed but the waiting time needs to be greatly improved they were very apologetic and offered a freebie but sorry waiting time is just too long .and why is there not a cheaper kids menu 🤔 all restaurants and takeaways offer smaller children's menus at a reduced price 👎

Been going here for years, absolutely lovely lady behind the counter, definitely has a passion for the job and was very busy but food is always excellent. Would recommend to anyone in the area. Bit pricey but everyone’s prices have gone up- worth the money.

This is a Great Fish and Chip shop, with some of the best Fish and chips I have had. But it is 2023 and they only take cash, and there is nowhere close by to draw cash out.

The chips were great and filling. And the fish was perfectly cooked. This time i had Cod. There is a small amount of parking available out front, and a large unmade car park out back, and not entirely suitable for wheelchair use. But having a wheelchair entrance is useful. Staff are friendly, so well worth a visit.

A tasty treat before dog walking on the beach here. Chips are probably the best I've had in many years, priced reasonably and service is always pleasant.

Visiting from London for the week, reluctantly came here as I don't generally love chippys but we were starving. I have to say this was the best food from a chippy I have EVER had. Absolutely delicious! The food was not greasy at all, perfect, crispy, fresh chips a million miles away from my local chip shops where the paper is always soaked with oil, everything else we ordered was absolutely lovely too, cooked to perfection. The service was a great too, very friendly man and woman. Thank you! We will be back before we leave, maybe even more than once!

Great owner always cooks fresh to order and the portion sizes are very generous. We go every two weeks and are always greeted like old friends.

I had cod and chips. The cod was average and although the chips were nice, they did charge me £3 for a small portion.

Terrible ordering system and waited 15 mins for a portion of chips. One person standing behind the counter chewing on his fingers, another adjusting his junk as he served food, and no one seeming knowingly what others are doing. Only chippy in the area too so you’ve got no choice.

The longest wait I've ever had at a chippy, that being said the chips were yummy. Shame I was on holiday otherwise this would be my new chippy.

The worst fish and chips I ever been so far. Sooooo expensive! Small cod costs £7.50 without the chips ! You must pay additional £4 for Little portion of chips. Food packed in paper without any boxes. Fatty sausage and fish wrapped only in paper ! Sauces for additional costs. No tables, only take away. Cash only. Moreover, missing items form my order. Burgers with all salad ( including only ) Lettuce - no tomato, cucumber 🥒🍅) Disgusting. Not recommended at all !!
