Reasonably priced, very fast service despite long queues.

Food was amazing but it took a little while to come out, chips were amazing and the sausage was perfect. Staff were lovely and the prices are fair

Lovely fish and chips, managed to get a seat as it was busy as just opened. Only one toilet for the whole restaurant which was very tired looking. A freshen up and this place would be winning.

Decided to eat in a couple of weeks ago as it was too cold to sit out, we both had Haddock and chips, It was very good and not greasy at all.

greasy fish. scampi that looked like a supermarket frozen scampi and tasted like it! we will not be eating here again!!

My word, I wish we went next door! I usually do too. We thought we would give this place a try… never again. Low quality food, high prices. As I write I’m on the loo… it was that bad! Go next door… your toilet will thank you!

Cod was ok but pretty unremarkable. Chips though were really unpleasant; some were hard, some dry and others soft. Service at the take away wasn't very professional and was very slow. It was as if they take for granted their customers. It was only after ordering and paying I noticed the 3 out of 5 hygiene rating. Plenty of other places to get fish and chips in Swanage.

Very expensive for chicken burger and chips having to pay separate no meal deal. Chicken burger was nice chips where just okay for what u pay

Really top class bit of cod, firm, moist, tasty, decent batter, chips were ok, hot but limp, would've been nice if they'd been crisp. I liked the Indian style curry sauce but my mate thought it a bit sweet. Pleasant service Left a tip.

Having been here many times and always very good, unfortunately this lunch was not good. I had chicken and chips with bread roll. Bread roll was covered in cheap tasting margarine and chicken was so over cooked very dry. Chips were hard and had horrible after taste. In the end could not eat the roll and left most of the meal. Waitresses asked how the meal was and told her how bad the meal was and just said oh I’ll pass your comments on and still charged full price. Will not be coming again anytime soon, so disappointed.

Chips and fish were nice but the burger was absolutely disgusting. I do not recommend. Staff member behind till needs retraining on customer service and hygiene. He was wearing a silly bucket hat with no hair net and also wouldn’t explain to me what I could have been in my burger after him being the one to suggest it. The place needs a good wipe down. Grease everywhere and loads of greasy finger prints all over the fridges.

I can’t believe this chip shop restaurant has a 3 * food and hygiene rating as it needs a zero it is disgustingly dirty in the shop and behind where they cook the food and the boss I think he was rolled a cigarette behind the counter where he is cooking the food absolutely disgusting we have come here for years but never has it been in such a state

Wasn’t as good as it used to be.

We sat upstairs, with a great view over the beach. Love food. We had sea bream and skate. Both were served with salad and chips. It was nice to have it cooked without batter. We did not feel rushed, even though it was quite busy

Food quality was ok but service, cleanliness and atmosphere were pretty grim. Have been visiting this restaurant over and above the Fish Plaice for years but this most recent visit has forced me to switch my aleegance.

Mediocre at best cod and chips. Long line for chippy next door and was rushed for time so went here. Next time I'll wait

They don't change the oil, probably cheapest oil in the first place, tasted of old oil, absolutely disgusting.

Not the place it once was. Seeing by recent comments, many would agree. Family have always visited the parade, so my partner and I decided to grab some chips on the way home. Two young people (one taller ginger haired lad, and a young female) were on the till, and instead of asking us how they could help, they were throwing things at eachother. Once they had finally stopped flirting and being childish, we had already decided to go to the fish and chips next door, who had a long line of customers out the door. Their fish and chips were amazing, and the service was great.

When you enter the store, you'll find yourself drawn into a restaurant with just a few ordinary tables (slightly spaced apart) with an unattractive interior. Still, it seems to be a good value for money fish and chips restaurant. What's disappointing is that there's no beer... There is ginger beer, but… .(The 1st floor...is a British...restaurant and they only sell beer there, but it's not open today) Hahaha... We ordered cod, haddog fish, seafood basket, and large chips, and the large chips were large enough for 4 people to eat and have leftovers. If we had ordered one chip per person, we would have been in big trouble haha. If they had opened on the first floor, it would have been nice to see the sea view, but it was a shame. There was no parking lot, so I parked in the roadside parking lot for a while. The taste isn't bad, and the staff is friendly and gives good explanations, so I'd like to give it a high rating as a good restaurant.

Typical F and C shop and restaurant. Bit noisy but as to be expected. All in all, it is to be recommended.

Not spectacular it's two fishcakes and chips with curry sauce, but everything cooked Spot on I sat at the window nice day sun was out they have wooden cutlery and napkins on each table yeah a good experience I'm happy😀

Tasty fish and chips. We went because it was dog friendly (inside) so it was very much appreciated on a very cold evening to find somewhere at the end of the day for fish and chips that accommodated our dog! They even popped over with a bit of sausage for her. Would return on the above basis. We ordered fish and chips x 2, tango apple and mushy peas.

Fish was fine, chips were anaemic but worst of all was the temperature inside. Freezing!! They need to turn the heating up. The place is looking tired and shabby inside, not what it was...

Opted for the take away option and asked for extra wrapping to ensure food would be hot by the time I got it home (2 mins away from shop). Staff member did not understand my request and just transferred the food to a slightly bigger take away bag! Food cold and not enjoyable.

Great hot chip, can sit indoors which is perfect in rough weather like winter, and dog friendly! Please introduce some vegan options? would be super grateful!

Fish was disgusting sinuey, batter had oily taste but the chips were ok and the restaurant fairly clean with nice decor. In the summer they slyly increase all prices by a pound with no justification other than greed and not improved quality. Staff friendly but scruffy and unkempt appearance compared to the other fish shops. Wouldn't recommend.

This place must have new management, as this visit was much better than the last visit some 4-5 years ago. The restaurant was closed, but we were welcome to eat our meals at the table with cutlery so just as good really. Amy who served us was very helpful and the meals were as good as they used to be many years ago, Quality was great, flavoursome and decent sized portions again.

Friendly staff but that’s where the nice part of the experience ends. Sadly the food left a lot to be desired, I agree with the other comments that the food was hot but maybe that was to disguise the quality. I can now understand why the fish & chip shop next door was overcrowded with customers who were lining up outside the door. Next time we’ll go there too.

Used to be a favourite chippy of ours but seems to have gone down hill the fish was ok but chips were undercooked but worst bit was the hairs we found in both meals I went back to give them the feed back in person and they didn't seem to bothered. Won't be going there again will use the chip shop next to it .

Friendly staff , food cooked to order so was piping hot , large cod and I mean large , nice crispy batter , chips were perfect , salt and vinegar on the table I like to add my own , some shops over due the salt , just a perfect end to a day on the Swanage railway 👌

We asked a local lady in the Pier coffee shop (also very good and recommended), which was the best fish and chips in Swanage, and she recommended The Parade. Not only was it the best fish and chip shop in Swanage, but the best I've eaten in the past few years. The fish and chips were cooked fresh, and so served piping hot. The batter was thin and crispy, and inside the cod was thick and perfectly cooked. Unlike those heavy battered fish used to disguise a small thin piece of fish. The chips were crispy, without being overcooked, so the potatoes inside could be appreciated. If you are going to eat only once in Swanage, then the The Parade is my recommendation I only wish I'dphotographed, but it looked so good i could wait to tuck in.

Simply the best fish and chips in Swanage. They do the best, perfectly cooked fish with crispy batter all round (no soggy batter bottom here). Generous portions. No excessive grease. Staff are wonderfully friendly too. We moved here a couple of years ago and this is now our regular chippie. Great place.

The chips are delicious, best that I’ve had in quite a while. Very generous portion size, would thoroughly recommend. Service was quick and very friendly staff.

Regular cod and small chips £10.10 Quite pricey but food was good quality. It's the right size portion for those with a small appetite. Chips and cod nicer than next door imo, (my daughter went there).

Popped in for a bag of chips based on reviews. £3.60 for the worst chips I think I have ever had. First and last time I go there.

Lovely seating area inside and a nice welcome when you walk in Nothing super amazing but fills your stomach with good food and so I Would recommend for anyone who just wants the seaside experience

We all had a really great meal! I really enjoyed the chips and happily finished up my brother's when he couldn't eat all his, it was a big portion as well. The fish was fresh, chunky and had a great crispy batter. If I wasn't so full I would of went back and ordered a battered sausages as well, as the ones my mum and nephew had looked brilliant.

Would have been 5 out of 5 but although the food was still great ,cardboard containers, no proper cutlery and paper cups for tea instead of pot ,cups and saucers. I'm afraid that's what let's it down.

Went to get a fish and chips as it is a "Must" while on holidays. Our friends recommended us the fish and chips shop with the green doors. It was easy to find. Very friendly and approachable staff. The fish was really fresh and really tasty. Would definitely come back.

Great fish and chips. We sat in and ate in the downstairs area…. Clean and tidy… your at the beach….quick service even though it was bank holiday weekend so was very busy.

We ordered 2 haddock and chips. The chips were adequate but the amount of fish was miniscule compared to the batter which was an inch thick. Very disappointing as it was a pre-theatre meal. The fish was also very dry indicating that it was over cooked. Avoid

Ate in the upstairs room and had a wonderful dinner. Wasn’t so busy and food was great. Cod batter was crispy and not too oily. Same for the chips. We had a grilled sea bream too which was chunky and cooked perfectly. Recommend ✌️

Never have any issues from this fish and chip shop. Staff always polite and food is great. If your eating in the staff are very quick to clear and clean the tables. I would give a 5 star, but the price and size of fish is a little disappointing if im honest.

The best fish and chips I have eaten.. The batter on the fish is lovely and crispy, and the fish always tastes fresh. The chips are great. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. When ever I go to Swanage I always get my fish and chips there.

I came here with my family we ordered just before 1 pm, 1.30 they came back to tell us they had lost our order we re ordered still without drinks, then at 2 still food less and drink less another member of staff ask what our order was and informed us it would take at less 15 minutes… telling us it was busy … we come here most years on holiday and have never see it so empty… the takeaway next door is much better and staff are friendly NOT LIKE THE PARADE STAFF …AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Last year I had it I remember it being delicious but it feels like quality has decreased it also wasn’t very clean and sanitary I personally wouldn’t want to go back again.

Awful experience!!! We ordered sea bass to later find 3 long grey hairs in the salad! When we complained, staff were rude and didn’t even apologise. Later on, the lady on the table next to us had to complain about hair being on her food! On top of this, drinks were served half way in dirty pint glasses and vinegar was watered down. Don’t recommend.

Very poor experience. Been here a few times before and it’s been okay, however this time no customer service, staff not in uniform (which i don’t mind however some of them looked like they had just rolled out of bed), the waiter was hard to understand and had to come back twice as he had forgotten our order. Food then came out, one server had his thumbs in the food and one plate had 3 grey hairs in it AND the table next to us also had hairs in some of their food! The staff were nice enough, however it was not the service you would expect for the price and only one dish was taken off the bill despite all of us being put off our food.

Actual quality of the food was good. Service was non existent, waiter had no idea of the wine on offer (only one, no choice!!) Unfortunately, we have eaten there many times in the past and everything about the place (except the fish and chips) has gone downhill badly. No grilled fish was available although it showed on the "specials" board????? Couldn't recommend and wouldn't go back.

We visited on Friday afternoon 7th July 23, and had a lovely meal for 2 of cod and chips. The guys behind serving were super speedy and really friendly. Thank you 😊 Shame about the bigoted old ladies moaning in the corner, but you can't have everything.

We have been coming here for years and really looked forward to eating nice food. The fish and chips used to be fantastic, but not this time. The fish was soggy and the chips were hard, tasted like they were using old cooking oil. However, the staff were very friendly. We won't be eating here again though.

Disappointed. Fish was very good, chips really not good. Bread and butter was a hamburger roll and tea was possibly the worst we've had. Large was no bigger than regular but £2 more. Overall could be so much better.

Really good quality food, chips are amazing, different to what we normally have. Cod was lovely and fresh, but our only complaint is that large cod is not that large for the price and comparing to other fish & chip shops we have visited recently. Curry sauce was really good as well with a bit of a kick. Nicely done boys.

Called in here after a day on the beach. Freshly cooked fish and chips which were delicious - chips were crispy and soft in the middle. We also had a fishcake which was tasty and nicely seasoned. Staff were friendly and would definitely go again.

Fish and Chips on the beach 6 portions medium fish £72.very tasty, you even know which boat caught the fish. Great friendly staff, busy on a hot Sunday afternoon.
