The Sandwich Station

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, <20£
21/06/2018: From the outside this looks like a normal road side food stop, but inside, the most tasty sandwich creations are made. Easily the best sandwich I have ever eaten with locally sourced and home made artisan products. On top of that it's run by a very friendly couple who clearly want to produce quality food. They achieve it.
20/06/2018: We came across this sandwich shop yesterday when we had eaten and just required an ice cream. We were so impressed we drove to it again making sure we were hungry. The couple who ran it were extremely pleasant and homely and the sandwiches were amazing. Judging by the amount of people who were going in and out we are not the first to 'find' this gem of a stopping off place. Please don't drive past it....go in, but make sure you are hungry!

18/06/2018: This wee shop is an absolute gem. So many different flavours to try. Some you would expect to see, others you would not. All the flavours I have tried are brilliant, and so many still to try.

Savoy Cafe

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
18/06/2018: This small but friendly place is like a small diner. Not all that many tables but Cosy. We booked this as this was a deal. The menu is simple but plenty of choice. You get good portions and their wine is very good. This was middle of the road prices but great value. I hope it stays busy for a long time. The chef knows his job and his customers
11/06/2018: The restaurant was recommended by the hotel we were staying in or we might not have found it. It was very unassuming but the food was great. It was tasty & well cooked. The service was very good. The wine was unremarkable.

Stags Pavilion

Irvine West, North Ayrshire
03/06/2018: I visited the Stag's Pavilion tonight with a party of four. We had pre-booked and Valerie had been incredibly helpful. The meals were excellent and the service lovely and welcoming. They are not licensed but you are encouraged to bring your own with no corkage fee.
02/06/2018: Don't be fooled by its appearance, the food was very good and the service was good too, a little small and got a bit loud when the other tables filled up. but was a nice meal and if you drink you can take your own bottle.

Kirkmichael Arms

Maybole, North Carrick and Coylton, South Ayrshire
17/06/2018: We really love going here for a meal and today we had another lovely meal. The choice of vegetarian is extremely good and varied. I had the chilli roasted vegetables with couscous. My partner usually can’t go past the battered fish but today has the fish cakes which he said were as good as the fish. Fantastic choice of desserts and definitely recommend the pavlova with berries. The owner and staff are very pleasant. Looking forward to our next visit
13/06/2018: We went as a large party including young children and everyone enjoyed their food which was of excellent quality. Well done Kirkmichael Arms.

Rutherglen Central and North, South Lanarkshire, <20£
20/06/2018: Attended The Bistro tonight as a wee treat from my girlfriend. A cosy restaurant with a homely feel to it.
17/06/2018: Booked the Bistro for our friends 30th birthday for 6 adults and 3 kids. We couldn’t have had better service or food! Wildings Hotel and Restaurant

Maybole, North Carrick and Coylton, South Ayrshire, 20-30£
14/06/2018: What can I say? This restaurant is simply the best. The food was good quality, cooked to absolute perfection and no rush to eat ..... Plenty of time given between courses which made the eating experience first class. I didn't want my meal to end, it was that good. I highly recommend the pork, it was so tender. My husband had a fillet steak and he too said it was like butter.
12/06/2018: Dinner was great, had large group everything came out hot and prepared fresh. Large selection of different dinners to choice from.

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, >100£
14/06/2018: This a bright and relaxed restaurant serving Scottish style Tapas. We were able to share most plates. Had seven between us, from haggis scotch egg to fish. All was of high quality and well presented. Very filling. Will definitely come here again when next on Arran. Only issue (but at the same time quite funny) was the waiter who could not pronounce Gewurtztraminer. He was trying to say they that they were out of stock, but could not tell me the name of the wine that we had ordered which was out of stock!
09/06/2018: Popped into eighteen 69 on our way back to catch the late evening ferry ! Phoned ahead asked if we could bring in our wee dog and explained we would be in a rush ! When we arrived what a welcome !! special table set up in the lounge for us and water and treats laid on for the dog we felt like royalty !! The waitress from Latvia was a credit to the hotel and herself she could not have been more helpful and it was definitely service with a smile! We enjoyed an excellent meal which was very tasty and extremely well priced!! The restaurant provided the perfect end to our day on Arran and we caught the ferry back to the mainland with ease ! Thank you eighteen 69 we will return

Hogarths @ The Craigie Inn

Kyle, South Ayrshire, >100£
10/06/2018: Food always exceeds expectations. Delicious 2 course dinner for a brilliant price (we couldn’t manage 3 although the value is outstanding for the 3 course option too) We keep coming back because we are never let down .
10/06/2018: Visited this lovely friendly restaurant tonight for Sunday dinner, menu had a great choice from roast sirloin roast to macaroni or fish and chips, very varied with plenty choice, front of house is run by the owner, she and her staff are polite , attentive and dealt with every request we had, our meal was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, ofcource we had to finish off with desert, also perfect, we will certainly return and pass on this recommendation to friends and other family ,

The Gypsy Cream

North Coast and Cumbraes, North Ayrshire
10/06/2018: The food is lovely but it was very very hot and humid in there and there were no fans or air con. I didn't feel particularly welcomed and did not get a very friendly vibe at all.
09/06/2018: Popped into this cafe after reading reviews and was not disappointed... had soup and sandwich combo ... tasty and resonably priced ... would recommend

Stage Door Cafe at the Gaiety

Ayr West, South Ayrshire, 20-30£
11/06/2018: We had an excellent dinner with two completely different and well-prepared mains, a a vegetable tempura, and a beef stir fry. We topped the meal off with a chocolate and banana Eton Mess--highly recommended. The service was friendly and there's a less expensive two course menu as well, unless a show is on.
11/06/2018: We were looking for a snack lunch and doubted that it would be available but we were wrong.
