18/01/2020: the food is fantastic, the ambience superb, the staff, friendly and efficient. The cuisine is of the highest quality and if you like Thai food, it will not be beat. Need to book as so popular.

Crown Inn

Clydesdale East, South Lanarkshire, <20£
19/01/2020: Following a late new years eve and a brisk refreshing ramble new years day, to sit in the crown and not have to think of cooking...bliss.
13/01/2020: We love stopping of at The Crown for food on the way to Carlisle. The menu has great vegetarian options and the food and service is really quality. We can take our dog and there's always a god atmosphere in the bar,.

Taj Mahal

Clydesdale East, South Lanarkshire, >100£
22/01/2020: The service at the Taj Mahal has always been Tajtastic!
17/01/2020: This place has very quickly become my absolute favourite restaurant ever! My husband and myself have been going to the Taj Mahal in Biggar for a number of years now and every single visit has been outstanding. There is nothing we could fault. The food is fresh and extremely tasty and the menu has a vast amount of choices to offer. The Taj Mahal also, quite rightly so, pride themselves in using zero food colourings and only high quality ingredients. The chefs are incredibly accomodating to any individual needs or preferences and always happy to prepare any dish exactly to your requirements (swap this ingredient for another, a bit more of this, a bit less of another etc). The service is also second to none, very professional, attentive and friendly. I always enjoy our chats with Aby who always has a wee story to tell. Wheras in other restaurants you are sometimes made to feel that you are "just" a customer, in the Taj Mahal you feel genuinely welcome and valued. The restaurant is fairly small, but I think this just adds to the lovely atmosphere in there. Sadly we don't live closer to it or I would be there on a weekly basis for takeaways too. Definitely highly recommended!

The Chestnuts Hotel Restaurant

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
10/01/2020: Came here for a birthday dinner tonight, 10.1.20 a party of 15 including children. The lady who was serving us was top notch, couldn’t fault her in the slightest. She made sure everyone was ok at all times and catered to everyone’s needs. The food was amazing! 3 courses for £23 was brilliant, the quality of food and excellent service topped it off. Nice wee cosy hotel/restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place. :)
07/01/2020: I had gone to the Chestnuts Hotel in Ayr for a meal with a group of about 20 people.

Rutherglen Central and North, South Lanarkshire, <20£
05/01/2020: What a great wee restaurant. First time there and can say definitely not the last. Food was fabulous, beautifully presented. Service was a nice leisurely pace, and friendly. Highly recommend this fantastic wee restaurant, well worth a try.

Little Rock

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
15/01/2020: Excellent food, brilliant breakfast selection. Very friendly staff, especially a Polish young lady. Dog friendly, including water & treats. Good variety of drinks, all round top , a must on any Arran visit, would highly recommend. Will be back.

Stags Pavilion

Irvine West, North Ayrshire
11/10/2019: Beautiful food, perfect setting, amazing service! What more could you want ? Not surprised to hear that this is one of the busiest places on the island! Spectacular!
21/09/2019: We ate there while staying at the Butt Lodge during our walk along the Arran Coastal Way. What a gem ! Superb food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and owners. Great menu and board of daily specials for a very reasonable price. Advance booking is most recommended !

Dalry and West Kilbride, North Ayrshire
07/01/2020: I own a holiday cottage nearby (Gay friendly cottage near Glasgow) on trip advisor, see pic below and many many of my guests have eaten here.. All have given it 5stars, so we decided to give it a try..we are both vegetarian and advised the restaurant prior to arrival..we cannot fault the food and the excellent service. The cost is much more than your average restaurant but as a special occasion, it is well worth it. If you have any dietary requirements call them in advance and they will happily provide a very satisfying menu..certainly worth booking though you do need to book at least 2 months in advance..
11/12/2019: With our friends we had not visited here for a few years, but decided to book for a Sunday lunch prior to Xmas. As it happens the only day we could get was the first one in December as they were fully booked. After our visit I can understand. It has always been exceptional before and happy to see that the standards have not dropped, from nice atmosphere to superb food, friendly staff, and for the quality the cost is not over the top for a Michelin star establishment. Keeping the star rating for so many years is hard work, but they do it! As is our custom we always appear to be last out, but Nicola still took time to have a chat with us. Decision made, that we will not leave too long for next visit!

GRO Coffee

Irvine West, North Ayrshire
23/01/2020: An excellent cafe/bar/restaurant/snug by the Irvine harbour.
19/01/2020: This place is just great ! The food is 1st class , service is the best and it’s dog friendly too .

Cafe Thyme

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, 20-30£
22/11/2019: Cafe Thyme is a smart, modern cafe at the Old Byre centre. As well as soups, imaginative salads, burgers and a good selection of Turkish pide they also serve very good home baking to have with your tea or coffee. And certainly worth a mention is the panoramic window with fabulous views to the sea and Kintyre beyond.
06/11/2019: Called in here for for the first time and amazed at the tasty food we had for a quick lunch.

The Coffee Pot

29/10/2019: Extremely friendly little coffee-shop (and more) - serving generous slices of Victoria sponge cake ... Sweeping views across Whiting Bay encourage you to linger.

The Blair

Annick, East Ayrshire
21/01/2020: Me and my dad came here for lunch as it was my 21st birthday. I had the Blair beef burger and my dad the Southern fried chicken burger. Both were absolutely beautiful. We also had dessert, my dad had mint choc chip ice cream and I had sticky toffee pudding. Was my first time here and I will definitely be back. Best food ever!
21/01/2020: I booked a lunch for myself and my eldest daughter for her 21st. I know the place well and my daughter had never been. It's fair to say she will be back very soon after declaring that was the best burger she has ever had in her life. We arrived 10 minutes before our booking and were cheerily welcomed by the girl who asked if she could take our jackets. We were quickly taken to our table and given the main menu and specials menu. We both opted for burgers i had the southern fried chicken one with chilli cheese fries my daughter had normal cheese burger with garlic and herb fries. Both of them were outstanding and the portion sizes are really good. We finished of with sticky toffee pudding and i had two scoops of mint choc chip ice cream both were delicious. So it goes without saying we are really looking forward to returning to the Blair. Many thanks to all the staff for making it a very pleasant experience.

Lamlash Bay

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
17/01/2020: Clean comfortable and very good food. Nice cozy bar and staff were great Amazing views right outside
Very unfriendly staff 😡🤬
