Martins Bar & Grill

Ayr West, South Ayrshire, >100£
06/11/2018: excellent staff , at all levels worked hard to get us a table at very short notice for my wifes birthday, when original plans fell through due to weather problems. at two hours notice offered table at 20-15 hrs. arrived 30 mins early for pre meal drink, which was beautifully presented by lovely professional bar staff, then exactly on time escorted to a lovely table by a lovely window view. menu was extensive and reasonably priced. we both had CULLEN SKINK soup as starters, excellent quality, lovely soft bread and butter served with. my wife had ROAST CHICKEN and I had the LIVER both with all the trimmings and a lovely bottle of house red, all of which was most enjoyable. we then shared a well presented and extensive cheeseboard for two. table service from all staff was excellent, prices very reasonable. thanks to all who rescued the night, on a very busy Saturday evening.
03/10/2018: Me and my wife had dinner, which was really good , the two waiters were very friendly and helpful, I had a three course, my wife had a two course, both of us finished but I must admit it was a struggle, I had pate to start followed by haddock and chips, peas , coleslaw, fish was amazing presentation very good, finished of with knickerbockers glory, if in area again would certainly go back ,

The Clubhouse Bar & Kitchen

Irvine West, North Ayrshire, <20£
28/07/2018: After visiting this 'restaurant' yesterday with my daughter, niece and her 10 month old son I can guarantee that this place is the worst I have ever attempted to eat from. The Philly cheese stake baguette came as beef slices on a hotdog bun, no side salad or chips but with a price tag of £8! When we enquired about the quality and price with the young waitress, she replied 'well I don't make the prices'. We returned the shocking attempt of food and asked for it to be removed from the bill. A few moments later, the 6ft+, heavy build 'manager' shouted from behind the bar 'whats the issue with your lunch, once he approached the table we explained the above and he argued till he was blue in the face that we were wrong. After the terrible customer service and quality of food we had been served i went to the bar to pay for the round of drink we had ordered but since we hadn't eaten any food before being shouted at and called liars from the huge man at our table, we wouldn't be paying for the food. This quickly escalated to the same man stating that we WILL be paying for our food then walking towards myself with his arms wide open shouting abuse and intimidating me .After felling extremely threatened and scared for our well being, we left as soon as we could.I now have had the police at my door accusing us of theft! but to be honest i would not recomend this place ive worked in the catering industry for years and thats no way to treat customers
15/06/2018: Food great definitely go back. Very friendly My husband enjoyed the burger. Cheese and steak baget all tasty

The Poachers Restaurant and Lounge

Clydesdale South, South Lanarkshire
02/10/2017: despite being given a restricted choice of 6.30 or 8 o clock to book a table we arrived to find the restaurant half empty. ok its a nice enough eating area but we were a bit surprised to be seated next to a squad of workmen still in their working gear. i dont think this would have been allowed to happen in a city restaurant .perhaps they could have been allocated an area in the bar ,i dont know ,its your buisness after all .the menu is very limited and did not offer anything that would be available at another eatery opposite tescoes and cost a bit less.i had heard that the restaurant had a good chef on board but was disapointed to find deep fried and frozen meals .if your just after good pub grub it might suit you but not enough interesting dishes to get me back !
05/06/2017: He visitado este restaurante una vez antes y disfruté de mi segunda visita.

Top Dexter

Ballochmyle, East Ayrshire, <20£
21/08/2018: Popped in for breakfast on a Monday morning en-route to Glasgow from our campsite.
08/08/2018: Was in Muirkirk and went into Top Dexter for breakfast. Excellent value at £11 for two of us for full breakfast plus mug of coffee and tea. The food was delicious and obviously good quality (not cheap breakfast items). The breakfast consisted of two rashers of thick bacon, sausage, sliced sausage, two hash browns, beans, fried egg, potato scone and two slices of toast - excellent value and very tasty. The lady who served us was also very friendly. Will definitely return on my next hillwalking expedition to Muirkirk.

Taj Kitchen

Irvine Valley, East Ayrshire
16/10/2018: I have Indian takeaway restaurants closer to where I stay, but I really like the food from here. Any curries I have had have been excellent, but my favourite has to be the Turkish Feast pizza.
07/07/2017: £1 extra for separate salad and sauce....I understand that the containers may cost 5p but a pound extra......RIP OFF!

Le Restaurant @ Campanile Glasgow Airport

Blantyre, South Lanarkshire
21/04/2016: While we was waiting for flight we decided to have some munching time! I would say food was delicious, price was reasonable! When it comes down to food they bring it to your table but if it's drinks we talk about you have to manage yourself- keep in my you have your handbag in one hand and drinks in other hand trying to not spill it while getting to your table. So for that reason 4 out of 5*
10/05/2015: Thought a bacon roll might hit the spot before flying to alicante. £3.95 for over cooked bacon a stale roll and no butter oh we are we so complacent !!!
