Really warm welcome, amazing food (been several times....pizza is fabulous) and good choice of soft drinks. One of our favourite places in our home town.

This is a small establishment but because of the pandemic they only carried out a take away service. I got a cheese burger and coffee. The burger was the fattest and most succulent I have ever tasted. None of your McDonald or Burger King here. The service was really quick and will come back here if in the vicinity and hopefully be able to sit in next time.

We visited twice - once for tea and later for a snack lunch. Pot of tea was fine but baked items seemed limited to chocolate shortcake (not tried). Lunch of roll with sausage and chips was good - plenty of chips. Special request of tuna and side salad was met and nicely presented. No brown bread available. Good: inexpensive; reasonable at what they offer. Could be improved: warmer welcome; acompaniments to tea/coffee.

Popped in for breakfast on a Monday morning en-route to Glasgow from our campsite. Five full breakfasts and they did egg, beans & chips for the toddler with us. The lady (owner?) was pleasant and provided great service. Our food arrived rapidly and it was all beautifully cooked, the hash browns were not greasy just crunchy potato goodness. Several of our party had their first introduction to tattie scones and they nearly all enjoyed them. Good food and super cheap.

Was in Muirkirk and went into Top Dexter for breakfast. Excellent value at £11 for two of us for full breakfast plus mug of coffee and tea. The food was delicious and obviously good quality (not cheap breakfast items). The breakfast consisted of two rashers of thick bacon, sausage, sliced sausage, two hash browns, beans, fried egg, potato scone and two slices of toast - excellent value and very tasty. The lady who served us was also very friendly. Will definitely return on my next hillwalking expedition to Muirkirk.

Great cafe located on main street in Muirkirk. Stopped off on a long cycle for some sustenance. Tasty roll, large coffee and caramel shortcake - all excellent. Will definitely visit again.

On our way to Dumfries we stopped at Muirkirk, and the cafe, we had some quick lunch, but it was really nice, and really cheap as well, service was great and was served really quickly, but was lovely, not a very plush room to eat in or fancy, but if you are looking for a quick bit to eat, then it's ideal

On a cold morning, stopped at this small cafe and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, service and size of the portions. All was cooked fresh to my order and the burgers are most definitely a meal in themselves. Reasonable prices and car parking close by. A welcome stop on the A70 and will become a regular one too.

Visted Top Dexter for breakast on a Sunday. Had a roll with Lorne Sausage and egg with a some tattie scone on the side. I can honestly say, it was a great breakfast, cooked to perfection and a lovely atmosphere to eat in. Lovely couple who made sure you were happy with everything. Have heard their variety of burgers are well worth trying. Definitely worth a visit, even if just passing through.

I had the pleasure of having two cappuccinos here while I waited on my car being MOT'd at a nearby garage. I also opted for a couple of rolls on square sausage too... and they were lovely. Having enjoyed the first cappuccino, I decided on a second. Nice place too with a mix of comfy and firm seating at various sized tables. I opted for a comfy seat next to the window with a view of the river. There was some reading material too at the table. Service was first class and prices are reasonable, though my wife told me afterwards that I should have opted for a breakfast rather than two rolls because It was a better deal. Note taken for the next time.

Thoroughly enjoyed the rolls and sausage and bacon from here the other day. Needed a warming in the cold wet weather and this wee kiosk was surprisingly good. Decent sausage and bacon prepared properly and served efficiently. If you are at the Bus Station go and check it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed

I don't often stop when out cycling but passing here and remembering a previous enjoyable visit I stopped for coffee and a lovely slice of Victoria Sponge. It's a cracking place with the emphasis of quality and customer service. Highly recommended, it's open to non cyclists too 😊
