Phoned up last minute for a burger & cake.
Station bistro did not disappoint 🤤 I got a chicken burger with halloumi, bacon with slaw & maple syrup with sesame seeds for on my burger. The bun was toasted just the right amount, chicken was cooked too perfection.. Bacon was just the right amount of crisp and the halloumi was also fab (usually halloumi can be a hit or miss and quite rubbery anywhere else) but I would highly recommend getting it on your burger. I have a very sweet tooth and the biscoff brownie hit the spot. The staff are so lovely aswell. Will 110% be back ❤️
Lovely intimate cafe and meeting point for islanders and visitors alike. The food was amazing. A hearty bowl of tasty soup and mince pie with calvados for after. Thoroughly recommend this gem
We stopped by for a coffee after a walk and it was really nice. Loved the decor, friendly service, and good coffee.
We also got cake too, and it was nice to see vegan options.
Just had a fantastic breakfast delivered from here.
Food was fresh, warm and quick delivery.
Honestly one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. 10/10
Visited for breakfast, lovely place nice staff seated quickly and ordered, I ordered a breakfast roll and toast and had specifically asked for my sausages to be well done, The gentleman taking the order did write this down however when my order came out the sausages were clearly not well done, my toast had been missed from my order but on highlighting this toast arrived, I have to say the toast was white as was my partner’s. Its a shame to have to highlight these small things but its things like this that matter to me when I am eating out.
I got a cheese & onion panini and my Mum got a cheese & onion toastie. Both of these came with coleslaw and a side salad with some dressing. We also got a portion of skin-on fries to share.
This was my first visit to this café but I would most definitely return! The food was very reasonably priced, staff were friendly and there was a wide variety to choose from. Overall, a very pleasant visit.
This small café/bistro operated varying limited hours and we were never entirely sure when it would be open. They also held bookable “themed” nights offering a taste of food from differing countries on occasion. Sadly having only recently discovered their very nice coffee and cake we followed this up with a lunch visit on 30 August 2024 only to discover of their plans to close the place permanently at the end of September 2024.
It’s a pity since the food we had on this occasion was very good indeed.
We both had chicken skewers Morrocan style, the tender juicy chicken pieces coated in a very tasty sauce which included fruit and all accompanied with a fresh salad with a lovely dressing. A very flavoursome dish overall.
We followed this up with a giant decorative pot of tea for two served in china cups and some cake. My wife selected a “Lammington” - sponge cake coated in raspberry and coconut and served with double cream, whilst I had a portion of Blueberry & Lemon Tart with double cream. My wife was very happy with her choice and I found myself almost licking the plate despite it seems having been given 2 slices of the thin light pastry tart which was oozing with a delicious topping.
Total cost was a reasonable £34.
The owners in our experience were friendly and chatty and are moving on to other ventures based from their home.
The place was busy at our lunch visit and there was a pleasant ambiance with satisfied customers enjoying their food and drink. Seems a pity that it won't be available in future.
The single unisex toilet was very well maintained.
Really warm welcome, amazing food (been several times....pizza is fabulous) and good choice of soft drinks. One of our favourite places in our home town.
I took a friend who I owed a lunch to & as I drove through New Cumnock he spotted a cafe open. It was a delight to find this lovely cafe selling Greek food. We had coffee, traditional Greek pie(homemade) followed by baklava & a cinnemon iced bun. We chatted to the owner who had moved here from Athens to be cloe to his Mother in Glasgow. The coffee was so good we had a second cup. On paying the price was reasonable at £22.80 for two. We have already recommemded to friends & neighbours & will return. Open 7am until 4pm.
Fabulous authentic food
We visited this for a Saturday evening opening. We both enjoyed our food, sharing the kottu and rice platter .
Both were delicious, freshly prepared & cooked .
The service was genuinely friendly and helpful .
If , like us , you enjoy real food prepared when ordered
, you can't fail to enjoy the food at Barn Street .
