First time we visited since new management took over. Will return soon! Food was excellent and the Kottu was adjusted to suit our taste, spicier than many might like. Have set a challenge for the chef to prepare next time at Sri Lankan spice levels. Would love to have the opportunity to try more such dishes!!

Got two toasties and two cans of juice to takeaway for lunch. Toasties tastied nice but we waited 20 minutes (which for two takeaway toasties is a long time. £22 for all of that is a bit of a rip off but food was nice enough.

A fabulous cafe in every way ..The welcome is sincere and friendly. We all had something different for breakfast but each thought it was wonderful, tasty and quite different. Again we had summer cooler drinks and they were delicious. Can't recommend this cafe highly enough .Well be back soon .

Popped in for lunch with a friend who has a gluten allergy. Staff were friendly and welcoming and had no difficulty accommodating our requirements. The soup was delicious and the brownie and carrot cake were superb. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Had a wee day of work so popped into Strathaven for lunch. Our planned venue was closed and really glad it was! Remembered seeing reviews of barn st so decided to try it out. Friendly welcome and immaculate airy space. Menu was the usual suspects, soup sandwiches, light meals etc but also a number of specials. I opted for the courgette in sesame and chive tempura with salad and lemon Mayo. Hubby pastrami sandwich with salad, piccalilli and a side of skinny fries. Tasty fresh food! Reasonably priced too. Staff were really friendly. I would highly recommend it. So much in fact we booked for the evening pop up too!

Friendly and welcoming, Great breakfast. Perfectly poached eggs with Avocado on sourdough toast with just the right amount of fresh dressed salad. It was recommended to us. We will pass on the recommendation and will return again.

During the day this cafe turns out tasty food with a wee twist. The ham hough toastie and cullen skink soup are a great favourite! The coffee is delicious and it's now my port of call for a flat white. Home baking is always available as are gluten free options and gluten free baking. The cafe opens up regularly as a pop-up restaurant where the food is out of this world. we had the pleasure of managing to book for both a Christmas menu and this weekends Burns Supper - a 5 course taster menu, it was absolutely delicious. The haggis was made gluten free by the chef, so no-one was left out. I honestly have never had such lovely food. Definitely worth a visit, staff are lovely and helpful too. If you see the chance of the pop -up make it a date, they have a Valentines one on 14 and 15 February 2020.

This cafe by day offers a pop up restaurant at least once a month. The food is imaginative, well prepared and absolutely delicious. It is a BYOB and they provide glasses and a fridge. This is a great addition to the local restaurants. Staff are friendly and helpful.Superb night.

Went for family birthday lunch on a Saturday. The quality of the food was really good, much better than the external appearance of the place would suggest. Nice staff, good service and atmosphere. No drinks licence but BYOB. Will return and would thoroughly recommend it.

Not too often you see places where the team all have set jobs but it's good to see. i.e. the person making food isn't touching money or the person touching raw food isn't touching the sandwiches/fillings, it's all very much different stations and is nice and clean. The food is really good and it's well priced for its quality. Only small issue (just for the sake that management can improve on it) is sometimes the waiting period. I've waited a long time for two panini before. Maybe because sit ins were prioritised, not 100% sure. I'd wait again though because it is very good but having worked in a restaurant I know that it's not really justified.

Probably like most people visited after climbing Tinto Hill. Lovely experience. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Enjoyed a bacon/egg roll and a coffee. Served up promptly, very tasty at a reasonable price. Couldn’t fault anything. So much so going back tomorrow.
