Probably like most people visited after climbing Tinto Hill. Lovely experience. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Enjoyed a bacon/egg roll and a coffee. Served up promptly, very tasty at a reasonable price. Couldn’t fault anything. So much so going back tomorrow.

We came here for refuelling after hiking up Tinto Hill. The interior has a rustic large shed feel, warm and cosy, with a Scottish countryside theme. We got a Cranberry and Brie Ciabatta, Soup of the Day and some coffees. Everything was delicious and the soup did taste like it was homemade. There weren't may dessert options, so we just left it at that. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, although in mitigation, it is in the middle of nowhere. The service is friendly and we would stop here again if climbing Tinto Hill.

We called in for lunch during a recent bike ride. The food was clearly all homemade and very tasty. I'm coeliac so needed gluten free, the coronation chicken sandwich was delicious, they made the filling from scratch as their normal mayonnaise was a 'may contain'. The coffee and fruit smoothies were excellent as well.

We were just passing on our way to Dundee and decided to stop, stretch our legs and grab a cuppa. So glad we did. Staff…friendly, chatty, attentive and smiling. In business since 1938, has a lovely character and atmosphere. Daughter had the hot chocolate…thumbs up, especially the mountain of marshmallows on top. The scone/jam and muffin were also eaten with the sounds of ‘mmm.’ Ample parking, eat inside or out - not a bad view! We loved it so much we re routed our journey home to revisit.

I walked Tinto today. It was my first time hillwalking. Quite a tough little walk to be honest. The views from the top are fantastic. As I said it was my first time walking up a hill and the walk down was quite a slog too. But my advice is just take your time and take a few short breaks. Have a wee sit down and take in the views. Bring some lunch with you it tales a while.

So there are 2 hills here one is called law hill and the other is called tinto hill, law hill is only accessible by foot path only and it's a mile or 2 away from tinto hill, tinto hill has a car park and tea room and one porto loo which was not looked after too well no toilet roll or hand tissues so avoided it the walk to tinto hill you go up a path to a gate and the hill goes up in 3 stages

After my husband's first climb of Tinto I had promised him a bacon roll at the tea room. By the time we made it they had just stopped serving hot food, but the very kind cook went the second mile for us by running over to the farm for some more eggs and made him a delicious egg and bacon roll. I had a yummy danish pastry. Thoroughly recommend this place for the friendly staff and tasty fresh food.

Love visiting here and often take friends and family to share in the delights. The Scottish breakfast is really tasty here and cooked fresh. The ingredients and in particular black pudding are standouts! It’s always very busy when we visit and sometimes you can struggle to get a table that can be disappointing especially when bringing friends. It’s not often I leave any eating establishment and feel as if I’ve been mugged but that was today’s experience in this small cafe , we stopped en route home for a coffee and light snack , to be honest I never gave the menu my full attention as we were trying to order coffee and scones the latter unavailable so I just said to the waitress I’ll have a cheese and onion toastier for quickness , the toastie duly arrived two small slices of bread with a very limited amount of cheese and a hint off onions , it was garnished? with four apologetic lettuce leaves and two rather lonely small tomatoes accompanied by a dollop of alleged coleslaw , not the most imaginative dish but it’s a small cafe and I would think it’s menu is limited . However at the check out I learned my dismay the toastie would set me back £5:75 which is extortion at the very least , the feeling of being mugged by a toastie is a whole new experience in life and not easily forgotten .

It's a great wee walk, very steep in places but the track is nice and wide. A good training hill for larger hills and mountains. My 5 year old got to the top a couple of months back along with my puppy. There are some careless dog walkers up there at times but for the most part they are responsible.

The tearoom has it's own carpark and is handy for a coffee stop/light meal if you are in the area. It's a small place with a small menu.We dropped in recently and had their French Toast with maple syrup & streaky bacon and a Haggis, Cheese & Chilli toasted sandwich with a salad garnish. Both dishes were a little slow in appearing however it was a busy Bank Holiday weekend so perhaps to be expected. Plenty of staff on duty. The food was good.We also had a couple of scones with butter, jam & cream to finish things off. Tea, which was delivered with a knitted cosy, was good as was the coffee (my wife had two and I had one). Overall bill was just under £26 which was reasonable in my view.Only one unisex toilet which was much in demand with hikers coming down off Tinto Hill after their walks.

Had nice toasted sandwiches although a little disappointed that there was no focaccia as listed on menu. Black pudding, cheddar and chutney was delicious. The brie and cranberry a little dry as thin slices of brie on thick sliced bread. Got a slice of cake to go and was surprised at how small it was considering it cost £2.95. In most other tea rooms I’ve been in the portion size would have been at least 50% bigger.
