Really good food , great service and a dog friendly area within the restaurant-our waitress was exceptional and so attentive, our food was of the highest standard, we were given VIP treatment on the occasion of my wife's birthday and our 3 Dogs were pampered and looked after with water bowls and treats

Disappointed is an understatement. Booked a late afternoon table for two expecting it to be similar in standard to the Dormy restaurant at Gleneagles, sadly it did not deliver. Impressive looking from outside, was greeted at front door and then directed upstairs. Stood about at an empty reception desk, eventually walked into bar area to find a staff member. Restaurant was fairly quiet, the table had superb views over the coast. My partner ordered the cottage pie, I ordered an egg sandwiches and a beetroot, goats cheese salad, plus drinks. Food arrived, asked if we would like same drinks again 'yes please' (a white wine and a coke zero), to be given a red wine and a reg coke (which as Type1 Diabetic, I thankfully spotted). The cottage pie tasted like microwave mash that had been put under the grill, with meat that tasted like it had been reheated, only ate half, complained when plates cleared 'oh ok', nothing more was said. Asked for the bill, then asked again 10 minutes later... waited 5 minutes for payment to be taken.... ended up going to bar (which had been sitting with dirty glasses for the entirety of my meal), bill in hand asking to pay (and I genuinely think the staff wouldn't have cared if I'd just walked out). Had high expectations, and maybe the main hotel is better, but this was a truly disappointing experience.

Poppadoms and onion very fresh. Chicken tikka kebab was bit dry - the tandoori chicken definitely needed sauce as too dry. Salad lovely and fresh. Would go back but hopefully next time the chicken is moist!
