Had an amazing meal this evening. Food is absolutely delicious! I would recommend 100% It is all plant based and my goodness the food is so fresh and well cooked.
We went and enjoyed a glass of wine which is bring your own with delicious food, such an excellent evening
I nipped in while at work for a sandwich. Ordered a BLT and added on a soup on a deal. Sandwich was freshly made with crisps and side salad. Soup was a homemade lentil. Staff really friendly and good atmosphere. I would recommend.
This was such a pleasant surprise. We were staying in Glenapp Castle and expected traditional fine dining in the main building, but not a Michelin-quality modern restaurant in the grounds. I was sceptical at first and had to be convinced by my partner to try this place, but I was certainly glad I did!
The atmosphere on arrival is beautiful - you have a welcome canapes and drink in a green house area with pools, fresh growing herbs and other greenery around you. It was very special. Afterwards, you are treated to a fantastic, modern cuisine dinner that is exceptional with an excellent selection of wines.
I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are staying in the Ballantrae area. Just lovely!
Unprepossessing outside. Lounge closed but public bar open & lively. Everyone seemed gobsmacked that we were walking the ACP. Even more that we'd swam both days, and amazed that I'd skinny dipped. Customers & barmaid pointed us to the beer garden, but in a friendly way. The BG was v basic, just a yard. But the beer was good.
Tony and his cousin are such kind generous hosts. The coffee blend is perfect. Cappuccino and lattes are so tasty and refreshing. The home baking is phenomenal. I'd say the scones are the best in Scotland. The lunch panini and sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. The attention to detail for service is exceptional. Plum crumble cake, pineapple cake, brownies and the savoury cakes are delicious.
It's not well sign posted but its next door to Coop Funeral home and across from the Butchers.
I’ve travelled the world and eaten ice cream everywhere. Lived in Paris. Regular visitor to Italy. Grew up in Glasgow eating the stuff all the time - in cafés, in restaurants, out of vans in the street with raspberry sauce. Spent a month in the USA making a film about the rivalry between Haägen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry’s. Consumed tons of their products on that trip. Attended a seminar in Philadelphia with Arun Kilara, the most famous correspondence course ice cream making instructor - a Professor, no less - in America. I understand ice cream on a granular, scientific level, and on an emotional one. And no ice cream anywhere in the world (I’m looking at you, Luca’s) comes even close to the magical stuff you get at Cones & Candies.
We order from here often and have never been disappointed. We also have walked up and sat outside a few times which is also lovely. The paninis and salad boxes are excellent and the cakes are to die for! Our family loves it. The staff are always so helpful and friendly.
The most kindest and hard working staff and don’t get me started on the very handsome young lad that helps out all over the club house he is amazing as-well would highly recommend there mac n cheese its banging
This is a great place to go for Breakfast or Lunch! Been here several times a day the service is always great and the food delicious! The chicken curry is lovely and the cakes on offer are awesome!
I don't often stop when out cycling but passing here and remembering a previous enjoyable visit I stopped for coffee and a lovely slice of Victoria Sponge.
It's a cracking place with the emphasis of quality and customer service.
Highly recommended, it's open to non cyclists too 😊
Went here last night, for two Birthday celebrations, my friends 65th, & my 80th.The food was nothing short of amazing, hot, good portion sizes, & lot's to choose from on the Menu. The king prawn sizzler I had was beautiful, & you could tell they were fresh. My fellow birthday girl, had a cheese nan among other things, that she said was fabulous, My Husband, wolfed his food down, & said he wouldn't hesitate to come back here again. We weren't rushed, were asked if we were ready for the next course. or did we want to rest for a while ( which we thought was so nice ) The new owner, could't do enough to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. This is a lovely Restaurant, affordable, & with a great atmosphere. Will see you again very soon, & hope you get lot's of Customers, as you certainly deserve it. The effort you've put into the Mountain Spice restaurant definately shows...Well done ! See you very soon.
