Great fish&chips but don't agree with one review that says best ice cream in Scotland they have obviously not been to the forum cafe in Kilmarnock best vannila ice cream in the country and always has been but is a good choice for fish&chips and all the other suppers

Fish and chips taste like fish and chips should, no wonder as the fish is fresh and the chips hand-cut! Generous portions, plus they serve old school ice cream the likes of which I've found nowhere else. And all of that for a really good price... Highly recommended

My wife and I took a trip today and found this wonderful cafe. We found out its a family run business and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Price wise you cant beat this place...£11.40 for 2 combos (homemade chuny vegetable soup) with a cheese ham and pickle toastie, then pot of tea plus strawberry milkshake...the soup was the best i ever tried and the staff told me they also do scotch broth on occasions. I know many people mught not look at reviews, however, as i can be very fussy with food, I was delighted with this cafe. I wish i knew when the scotch broth will be on the menu to make me have another trip dow,

A lovely family run cafe with possibly the best ice cream in Scotland. First came here over 40 years ago and it's still the same ice cream recipe as back then. Can't recommend it enough you must try it.

Just back from the Barwood Grill Galston and will recommend to all our friends and family good choice of meals on the menu and very well priced the meals we all had were really good and well presented. Based on our visit we will return and as already stated will recommend here as a must go to place to eat

37 High Glencairn StreetSuperb choice,always being updated with new innovative new flavours. The ice cream is fantastic,really lovely. Nice friendly staff. Well worth the trip to stock up the home freezer.

46 Mill SquareCame here for a quick bite after doing some of the Burns Trail in Mauchline. With the social distancing in place, there's no sit in and the cafe only serve food from the front door. The menu is very much traditional British foods, so you'll not go wrong if that's what you're after. Even though the staff were only serving through the front door, they're still friendly and welcoming.I got myself a Jaffa Cake and a Latte. The former did indeed taste like a Jaffa Cake (biscuit), although it was a bit too sweet. The latte was decent. Not sure about all the 5 star ratings, but it was decent food and I give it an extra star because the prices here are very keen.

HollybushDelicious starters followed by pink roast beef. Speedy staff. I think an open log fire would add to the ambiance, especially with cold weather coming up. Every country pub should have one!
