Very disappointed. Although advertised as wheelchair accessible, the toilet is not accessible. We had driven from Glasgow. Wasted journey

Best food we have had in Scotland.The attention to detail in the food is outstanding. Talented Chef,very welcoming front of house, amazing views, spotless inside and out. A true gem. So pleased we found it. Again amazing food 😋 Another vist a year later, food still the best, top quality ingredients cooked to perfection 👌

It has been sometime since we last ate here and I can say we were not disappointed. The food and service was excellent. Can recommend the Thai Chicken Curry, the Scampi and Chips as well as the Battered Onion Rings which were enormous. Well worth a visit.

Roast dinner was to die for, and biscoff waffles are a must try..only one small gripe and that was restaurant was cold

Amazing find!! Food was delicious, the best we have had whilst on our trip here and we were well looked after. They were fantastic with our (slightly reactive) dog. When they say they are dog friendly, they really are!! Thankyou for a great experience.

Stopped off on route from Ayr to Glenluce.. what a find!! Fabulous service... great food... very dog friendly which was a bonus .. they even brought a bowl of water for my dog without being asked!! Very welcoming.. great place!!

Excellent views along with the food

Wow, what an amazing find. Lovely place with a warm and friendly welcome, gorgeous views. We had read the reviews and tried the Haggis fritters to share as a starter, these were devine, so glad we tried them. I had haddock, streaky bacon macaroni and hubby had the steak and ale pie. These were freshly cooked and absolutely beautiful. WARNING bring your appetite as the portions are not for the faint hearted!! We had to apologise as we couldn’t finish our meals as we were so stuffed but wow, what a delight to our tastebuds!!! Highly recommend this place and we will definitely revisit when we are in the area again

Food is lovely. Service is great.. There was only a couple of tables occupied so its kinda hard to judge on atmosphere.

I’ve been finding it hard to eat out lately due to needing gluten free, come across this lovely place where they will adapt almost anything on their menu to GF. I would like to thank them for this as it is a very much unmet need and makes socialising out of home easier, so it’s nice to have another option available to those with medical dietary requirements.

First time here I've passed it many times. Not really busy when I went Food was good as was the service slightly more expensive. I will return in the future

My wife and I travel to Scotland once or twice a year to visit family, and every time we do, we visit the Hollybush. inn. It is by far one of my favourite restaurants. I'm particularly in love with the Haggis and Black Pudding fritters (please don't stop serving them, I'll be back next year.) The service is always top-notch, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. If you're ever in that direction, I'd highly recommend visiting the Hollybush, you won't be disappointed.

Found this place after just moving to area and needing food! The food was excellent, just fantastic , best crispy pork belly ever Service was excellent, staff lovely and helpful We will be back!!

Food good, portions not too big, just right really. Staff were very nice, and it was dog friendly. Didn't have to book. A great Saturday evening dinner, as we're her for a few days .

We celebrated my 70 th birthday here last week. The food was delicious and very well presented, the staff are excellent and it is great there is plenty of room inside between tables. We will be back!

The Hollybush Inn’s food and service are excellent.

My partner, two year old child and I went there for a Sunday roast and I can honestly say the roast beef was the best I've ever had. Beautifully pink and accompanied by all the trimmings; I couldn't believe how delicious it was. The child's portion was incredibly generous and the goat's cheese was lovely too. Thoroughly recommend to anybody who is contemplating going or not.

Fantastic! What a great place. We visit here when coming to see the family. The food is fabulous, with delicious vegetarian choices too. Staff are lovely and very accommodating. Dog friendly, even with our reactive dog. We were found a quiet table in the corner which was perfect for us. Wish we lived closer so that we could visit more often!

Delicious food,well presented ,hot and decent portions. Dogs are allowed in the bar area,plenty of room for our large greyhound and bowl of water brought out for him on arrival. Special thanks to Hugh for excellent service. Was here earlier in the year for funeral tea and it was faultless.

Birthday dinner food fresh and good

My friend and I had a delicious lunch of game pie today. Lots of tender meat in rich sauce and lovely fresh vegetables. Excellent service in a lovely setting, good prices too. Well worth a visit.

We have had meals there on several occasions in the past and enjoyed them all. I was shocked to see it had closed. Has it reopened ?

2nd time having the pleasure to eat at this restaurant. Delicious meals!! Presentation was beautiful and the food was so fresh full of flavour. The meat just melts in your mouth the veg is cooked to perfection creamy fluffy mash. The sweet potato purée is a lovely pop of flavour. I would highly recommend going here for any occasion!! Staff are so friendly and welcoming, kid friendly and dog friendly. They instantly brought a dog bowl with fresh water for our dog. James the chef is a lovely person and an exceptional chef. Happy to chat with us about his menu and fresh ingredients I also appreciated the G.F without it tasting like G.F. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals so much that my mum wasn’t aware they were G.F. The best meals we’ve had out in years. We will Definitely be back. The restaurant is modern and fresh all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The dining areas are well spaced making it much more relaxing, we weren’t concerned about bumping someone’s chair, or our dog being too close to someone else’s table. Very spacious and comfortable.

Up from England, staying with friends. From the outside it doesn't look much but there are beautiful views out the back, friendly staff, good service and delicious food. Very good.

Had the absolute pleasure of sampling some very fine dining today for my birthday with family. Food was amazing enjoyed every bite, staff are so professional very warm and welcoming a credit to this restaurant. Will certainly go back thank you all very much made my birthday so special.

Had heard a few different things about Hollybush Inn and thought we would give the place a go. So glad we did as food was amazing, the Tempura Chicken starter was great with plenty chicken and amazing sauce. My wife had the mushroom soup and was full of flavour. We then had the Sunday roast that again had plenty of beef and beautiful fresh veg and Yorkshire Pudding. I had the Gammon Steak and again full of flavour and fantastic home made chips. Really great food and fantastic staff, will certainly be back.

Done a bit of research and it was close to where had stopped. When we got there is was really quiet. We had the dog so we went in the bar. We both ordered the steak and Ale pie. I have to say it is the best Pie I have ever eaten, the taste and quantity of meat were outstanding. couldn’t fit in a dessert. Highly recommend

Lovely restaurant with good menu and dog freindly the staff are great even though they were very busy they made sure all was OK we had starters mains and deserts and we were all very impressed everything we ate was lovely and good sized portions best sticky toffee pudding ever

Annoying doorbell sound ringing every 2 minutes, presume to tell the waiters to get food from kitchen. Friendly and helpful staff, good portions for money, dog friendly and brought some water. Decent prices for Easter holiday. Would come again!

We were here for Mothers day carvery. We were disappointed with the food sadly, cool, lack of choice and just a bit chaotic. To get to the carvery you had to weave your way through tables and customers coming in, and getting back to your table, you were held up by customers being seated. We were offered to go up to the carvery as many times as you wished, but quite frankly it was too much hassle. Mixed veg was only veg options, mash was cold. Meat choice was fine, and it tasted nice. But carvery is not a winner. Hollybusg has always been 1st class, but not for a carvery service.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Steak pie and crème brûlée were especially delicious. I came with my family and we brought our little dog, and the staff were so kind and had dog bowls on hand for Hazel. The whole family (Hazel the dog included) had a wonderful evening. Fantastic food, kind staff and great evening. Would really highly recommend.

our family visited the Hollybush carvery tot mothers day this year! It was unreal!! The chef carving let us have as many slices of 3 different meats as we wanted!! We could have as many roast tatties or yorkies as we wanted and we could even come up again!! It was like all you can eat 😂😂😂 If you didn't like roast they also had a curry, macaroni, and dressed fish 🐠 Dessert station was amazing!! 6/7 different dessert options all amazing! Service was bang on could not fault! The manger said there will be a Father's Day one, COUNT ME IN!!!!

Went for Mother’s Day to carvery. Food was cold and standard was very poor. Only thing that was warm was the gravy.

We have found another hidden gem. Hollybush Inn is a lovely restaurant which deserves five stars all round. We had a wonderful experience here. Their beautiful views was an extra surprise. We'll definitely go back.

Every day, I pass this little unassuming place on my way to/from work, not really thinking much of it. Little did I know how absolutely delightful it was inside! We had a three course meal using a voucher gifted to us, and every course was absolutely amazing! The portions were generous and tasted delicious. The staff were brilliant, very pleasant and attentive without bothering you, which is exactly how I like it. The backdrop is also amazing, sitting in the conservatory area enjoying the view of the countryside. Very nice way to spend the evening. And will 100% be coming back!

A great place. The food is very fresh and the portions are of a suitable size for most people. Very accommodating for the two pups 🐾🐕 even though they barked the place down. Definitely worth going to if you're ever round this area. Will definitely return when we're up this way again

Tastes good, loved it. Varied menu.

Lovely meal for starter and main course. Portions adequate for me, but my friend had a doggy bag. The dessert was very tasty (cheesecake) but disappointing, it came in a sundae glass with the bottom of the cheesecake being 'sprinkled' on the bottom. So when getting through the topping there was a mouthful of loose biscuit base, which wasn't expected. Seemed to be one staff member but he was very friendly and did a great job.
