The homemade creme du Barry is the best thing I’ve ever tasted!!! Hopefully they open back up soon! The sandwiches are great too. And reasonably priced.

Needs to upgrade the opening times, as we were told it was closing at 15.00 today. Strange that in these tough times, places that are allowed to open are happy to close early!

We have been using Coffee club for years now as the provide great fair prices for takeaway coffees. The scones are always fresh and the hot rolls are delicious. My only fault is they have recently changed there cups to polystyrene and they just arent as good but other than that great coffee.

Nice selection of sandwiches/baked potatoes, and the coffee was excellent. Only downside was the fact that all the baked potato fillings were not available.

I visit this cafe regularly as the owner makes the best cappuccinos and Flat Whites I've had anywhere. The scones are great varying from date and walnut to chocolate and honeycomb. Soups include hearty traditional favourites but the best include carrot & coriander or Thai variations. The cakes/cheesecakes are all good, but I usually return for the rhubarb crumble & custard! All the staff are extremely personable and efficient with the owner Frazer leading the way!

Located on Bank street, just off the main thoroughfare lies , `The Coffee Club` an excellent cafe , with amicable staff , warm and welcoming, I ordered egg , beans hash browns, with toast , with tea to wash it down , served fast , and food well cooked hot and delicious no complaints there, toilet is downstairs, where once a restaurant was in service. Certainly would return, if in the vicinity.

This long established venue is open until 9pm on a Wednesday night. We were out on a rainy evening and just wanted coffee and a cake. The vast majority of cafes are closed around 5.30pm and it was really heartening to find this warm and comfortable spot. Coffee and rock buns hit the spot. Worth knowing this facility of a late night snack.

Wow what can I say about this place, 1st of all the place is in need of a really good clean!! Don't know what has happened to the cakes they used to be fab but now they look shop bought, definitely not " made on premises" as the manager keeps going on about! No atmosphere and I'm pretty sure I saw rat droppings down stairs on the way to the toilet!! The only plus is the older gentleman who makes the breakfast, he couldn't be anymore helpful. Definitely NOT worth a visit!!!!

My friends & I visit the Coffee Club almost every week & the food & service is excellent. We particularly like their soups, but we've tried most things on the menu & it's all very good. It had a revamp over the last few years & the upstairs restaurant is much more comfortable than it used to be. They also sell gift vouchers which are very handy to give to friends as gifts. Well done Fraser!

We used to visit The Coffee Club in Kilmarnock for a number of years when it was under their previous management, had a good reputatiion and an extensive lunch and snack menu. It was always busy on both floors. On our recent visit we decided to call here again although we had heard that the previous owner had retired and it was under new management. It was far from busy upstairs and the downstairs area was closed. The menu was pretty restricted to cakes, a few snacks and soups, Service was good and very friendly. My wife and I chose the Creme de Barry Soup which we had seen recommended on Trip Advisor. When we asked were told that this was a Cream of chicken and cauliflower soup. Although we cannot say that it was poor, it was extremely thick and glutinous and although quite tasty, it was too heavy for our liking. All in all the place was not bad but not up to the standards previously set.

Have tried this place a few times over the months since it re opened hoping they would iron out early problems but no more chances from me.Its definately not what it was,not even close.gave them four tries on my own,4 seperate ruined lunches hoping they would get the famous creme du barry soup right and they just cant do it.Went recently for take out lunch while at work again willing to give them another go as it had been a while since my last dissapointment and had to return the baked potato and was given a refund as it wasn't edible. Also have been twice to sit in downstairs with family group of 5 as we loved the coffee club before and all wanted to give the new owners a fair chance to impress but have been dissapointed every time on food and service.Afraid to say that after being a life long patron along with my mother and grandmother before me,I will be giving the coffee club a wide berth in future.I cannot believe the owners and some of the new staff have apparantly a long background in catering and service,it certainly doesn't come across.

I attended The Coffee Club with my wife and infant daughter for lunch on a Monday. I found the staff very pleasant and friendly. I am a fan of Costa Coffee (especially their Old Paradise blends) however I found the coffee at The Coffee Club to be better than Costa's "Mocha Italia" blend. I also found the food to be lovely. I had a Cajun Spicy Chicken panini and a piece of chocolate cake (so moist and delicious I can't do it justice) and my wife had a Ham and Cheese panini and White Chocolate Millionaire Shortbread (simply amazing), she also had a 2 cup pot of tea and I also had a can of Coca Cola. It came to £23.05 which I found very reasonable. The only fault I had was that there wasn't a separate baby change area for when I changed my daughter's nappy, as such I had to interlope into the ladies toilet and leave the door open.I will return...

I went here tonight with my husband and 2 daughters 7yrs and 18yrs, we went around 5pm sat in downstairs area it was very quiet, one server who did a great job, young daughter had fish and chips was nice piece of fish she ate every bit, older daughter had burger, only ate half nothing wrong with it just not her best tasting one, my husband and I both had steak and sausage pie I removed sausages as don't like them, steak was tasty pastry was cooked separate then placed on pie, was a good size portion and tasty, then we got 3tier cake stand with lots cakes and 2 large scones, jam and cream, too much for us to eat so we got a box to take them home. Great value for money, local and tasty, a shame atmosphere was lacking.

Hadn't been into the coffee club since it's re vamp under the new ownership and to be honest not great Maybe some music would give a better atmosphere and although the chap is polite he comes across as a bit lacking in interest! Food was reasonable although quite odd that orders are taken then taken by hand to the kitchen down stairs! More than adequate server up stairs, after all it's only sandwiches etc. Rather crammed with tables and few ladies with wee tots and prams came in making it impossible to get out of my table.

With no idea where to have lunch in Kilmarnock we chanced upon The Coffee Club, and although the exterior was rather forbidding, could not have chosen anywhere better for food and hospitality. Whereas many cafes and restaurants use the words "coffee" and "home baking" to attract customers, here was the real deal,-the only disappointment being the finding too late, of a gateau displayed in the downstairs restaurant that was not visible when we arrived and took a table upstairs! Unusually, the fresh orange was just that. When we return to Kilmarnock this would be our first choice for lunch, or indeed high tea, which is served regularly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but other days as well.

Get yourself to the Coffee Club to be treated to a brilliant high tea. Havent had a high tea since the days of Gordons......and wow this was even better! Staff are really second to none, cheery, helpful and friendly. I certainly will be making a return soon.

The fact that the revamped coffee club is now over 50 plus years old, under new ownership and still as popular as ever, the experience is altogether different, benefitting from the changing face of customers who do not belong to the blue rinse brigade, but a digital footballing age that i-plays, emails and twitters on while drinking a coffee and eating a bite through a more efficient self service upstairs whereas the established clubber still has the enjoyment of company favourites such as Crème De Barry downstairs... Reopened a year ago at the end of April, there were some celebratory banners on the wall inside as a bit of fun for those unaware of the changes, but getting past that and more importantly the excellent food and service proves when showcasing a re launched business a change should never be an alternative to a rest.

Had high tea last Friday and it was really good. My mum and i had toast to start with, brown and white, and a pot of tea. I then had the cheese & fruit salad and my mum had the chicken and bacon. The portions were big and food quality was very good. We shared chips which were also nice. I was stuffed and couldn't finish mine, and we still had cakes to follow. The cakes were brought over on a two-tier cake stand and consisted of strawberry tarts, scones with cream and jam, and other small cakes. The staff were really attentive and brought over another pot of tea for my mum and i. We couldn't finish the cakes so they put them in a box for us to take home! We got all that for only £9.95 each - really good value.I was really impressed with The Coffee Club and would highly recommend it. The decor is lovely, food great, cakes amazing and the staff are fab.
