Yasmins Fine Indian Cuisine

Girvan and South Carrick, South Ayrshire
16/03/2019: Every bit of food was absolutely delicious and the staff are really friendly. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back
10/03/2019: Great food, awesome service. In a quiet town with little competition, this place competes for quality like it's central London. What a surprise and a treat.

Motherland Spice

Saltcoats and Stevenston, North Ayrshire
19/03/2019: Been here a couple of times now and cant fault the place food is good and cheap as well with friendly staff
23/02/2019: We come here very often. The food is fantastic, reasonably priced and more interesting than some of the usual Indian food you get. Lots of fresh spices and we are never afraid to try something new. Plus the hospitality is second to none and all good value. Love every visit.

Torranyard Tandoori

Annick, East Ayrshire, >100£
01/03/2019: Very disappointed I ordered a Bhoona, I put it in the bin, horrible tastless gravy, definitely not what I expected.
22/02/2019: Visited the Torranyard Tandoori for the first time for our daughters 16th birthday. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was superb. Nicest Indian restaurant we have been to for some time. Will definitely be back. Portions were large so we were asked if we wanted to take some home in takeaway boxes which we did. Great evening all round.

Spice Indian Cuisine

East Kilbride Central North, South Lanarkshire, 20-30£
18/03/2019: Had a 50th birthday meal here for my partner what a fabulous night he had and all our friends and family, and I have to say the food was amazing and the owner (Abby) and his staff went above and beyond to make it a perfect and a fantastic night. Would highly recommend we will be back thank you Spice ek
18/03/2019: Spice has to be one of the best Indians about. Great value lunch menue and pre theater menues. Always amazing food and happy to help if you want to try something new.

Jholpai Indian Fusion

Clydesdale North, South Lanarkshire
09/03/2019: Another visit to Jholpai this time for my husband Derrick's birthday. As always we had a delicious meal, Prawn Shashlik and chicken Xacutti were excellent, and the service from Jahed and his staff was perfect. We are so lucky in Lanark to have this gem.
26/02/2019: We were passing by and in an off-chance that there was a table popped in.

Avondale and Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire
12/03/2019: Great night again at the TAAL brilliant food great staff, dodgy shirts and ties from Suki and Dappy, always a great experience
12/02/2019: The food here is invariably excellent and must rate amongst the best in Scotland for superb Indian food. The Dhansak is especially nice but nothing on their menu is second rate. Worth visiting Strathaven just for Taal.

Lawthorn Farm Indian Restaurant & Pub

Irvine East, North Ayrshire
13/01/2019: Went with the kids for the 1st time in a while.
29/12/2018: Visited for a evening meal and the one thing that stood out was the lack of atmosphere, couldn't really fault the restuarant for this, it's just far too big for a Indian restaurant in our opinion, lighting was also too bright so it just added to the lack of atmosphere. Onto the food, couldn't fault it, was fresh and tasty and we cleared our plates. The service was mixed, staff were attentive but not intrusive, however we were given wrong Information on something we queried and soft drink was flat, no excuses for that it's piss poor. Overall would we return we wouldn't, came out thinking there was something missing and it's just the atmosphere and just didn't do it for us. Others no doubt like it as it was busy and we wouldn't put people off going, just not for us.

Blue Rupee

Rutherglen South, South Lanarkshire
03/01/2019: Moved to the area recently and always worried about trying new take away delivery places but there was absolutely no need. The 4 curries we ordered may have looked similar in colour sometimes off putting at some places but all tasted vastly different even a good spicy kick to a couple. The mixed pakora was a great option to taste the different options. The only downside was the naan breads which were still very tasty but looked more Chapatti like and were quite small. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning for another take away
25/11/2018: First time in the Blue Rupee for a couple of years and I'm very sad to say the food is not what we remembered. The sizzling dish had no sizzle, no salad and just a drizzle of sauce over it. The lamb tasted like stewed beef. Went be back.

Ayr India

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
30/12/2018: Have reviewed this restaurant before and commented on the imposing/dated nature of the building and interior.
17/11/2018: Had dinner here last night (first visit in years) and was not disappointed. Had great email promotion running, which was a bargain. Food was delicious, service quick and staff all very friendly. Seemed a lot quieter than the town centre restaurant but has a certain old school charm about it. Worth a visit (sign up for their emails, great offers).

Jaipur Indian Restaurant

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
23/01/2019: Firstly, the service was excellent but most importantly the food was fantastic!! I would recommend to anyone who loves proper Indian food!
20/01/2019: Cheap & cheerful ‘traditional’ Indian restaurant . I only had a take away but what I got was very nice . The staff were very friendly & I would definitely return for a ‘sit in’ meal .

The Rupee Room

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
28/01/2019: Adequate food, but not what it used to be. Visit marred by being presented with a bill that had more than £40 worth of alcoholic drinks that we neither ordered nor consumed. Funny how the majority of "mistakes" are in favour of the restaurant?
18/11/2018: The decor is understated and not traditionally Asian in style. To me this emphasises that the restaurant wishes to put a modern spin on what they deliver. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The complementary pickle tray included unusual chutneys that tasted home made.My traditional Chicken and Mushroom Curry was one of the best I've tasted;the portion was so generous I couldn't finish it.My partner's Fish Madras was deliciously fiery & he cleared the plate!

Ayr India

Ayr West, South Ayrshire, <20£
20/01/2019: My sister and her partner love this place. I live in England and my sister recommended this place. My sister her partner and my self had a lovely lunch, great food and price.
31/12/2018: We enjoyed a 2 course meal. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will be back next time we are in the area.

Troon, South Ayrshire
08/03/2019: I have just had the most expensive beef frying steak I've ever had... recently went here for take away and ordered the "sirloin steak" for myself and a curry for my wife. Alarm bells should have started to ring when I received my order within 5 minutes, yet I had asked for the steak to be cooked medium done. Most guidelines for medium done cite 4-5 minutes either side with some even saying a total of 10-12 minutes. On returning home I found that I had been given a waffer thin piece of frying beef which had been well and truelly overcooked - no way this would have been the case if this cut of meat was sirloin. The meat tasted exactly like a cheap cut from the local supermarkets. There was even efforts made to make the steak look thicker by folding it in half over itself. Additionally the meat was dry with no gravy or jus. I'm really disappointed with this and will be contacting trading standards as there is no way I was served a sirloin steak as advertised.
15/02/2019: Had takeaway from here whilst visiting family. Absolutely stunning chicken tikka and the curry sauce and nan bread are out of this world. Only criticism would be the quality of the chips. Will definitely order from here again.

Punjabi Tadka

East Kilbride Central South, South Lanarkshire, 20-30£
26/01/2019: We had a meal starting with vegetable pakora and nanbread, followed by Chicken Rogan Josh and Chicken Dopiaza. There was ice cream included in the January sale menu. The meal was of a good standard and we weren't rushed and could take our time. It was good value. The location however is not in the main town centre but at Boardwalk in EK.
13/12/2018: Regular visitor and indulger in the Thali menu with the 4 curry choices per person and other tasty goodies.

Pir Palace

Bothwell and Uddingston, South Lanarkshire
20/02/2019: We were looking forward to a night in but wanted something nice to eat, we had passed the restaurant while out walking so phoned our order and arranged to pick up a meal. It was ready when we arrived, the staff were really helpful and we really enjoyed the food. There was too much for us in one meal so we were able to enjoy it over two nights. Would definitely recommend it and will consider sitting in next time.
06/01/2019: Wonderful food and good service. Great friendly staff..Great takeaway too.well done Shamshard and staff.
