Excellent food. Have been many times. Always a good experience.

The railway lamb was delicious. Best Indian meal that I've ever had.

My friend recommended Exotic kitchen as I was looking for somewhere to get some pakora. I found the restaurant and was warmly welcomed by the staff who were so friendly and happy. I ordered a vegetable and cauliflower pakora and I have to say that they were possibly the best I've ever had. The sauce was also very different to what I'm used to and very tasty. The restaurant also had a lovely atmosphere and I look forward to going back again for a proper dining experience. Thanks so much 😊

So I only wrote reviews if something/ somewhere is terrible or amazing .... I am pleased to say the latter . . Came tonight and was an excellent experience. Welcomed by the waitress and owner . Warm, personable and felt genuine . Nice decor and feel to the place . Just felt comfy . The food . . Wow !!! Fresh, arrived in a timely manner, presented beautifully and tasted amazing. . 2nd meal at the exotic kitchen tonight. Food is fresh, excellent flavours and great portion sizes. Paul is a wonderful friendly host and even treated us to a meal for our 1 year old. We had the railway lamb and the South Indian garlic chilli with tiger prawns and it was fabulous. Looking forward already to our next visit.

This place is unexpected, fab food and needs advertised more Wines rather delicious as well. Need to encourage more customers into the restaurant. Hidden gem.

Been in a few times now and can honestly say the food is excellent. Good portion sizes and a friendly welcome. A great addition to Kilmarnock restaurants and will be back soon. Great range for vegetarians as all dishes can be made with either paneer, vegetables or tofu.

This is the second amazing meal we have had at Exotic Kitchen. My friend and I had dinner there this evening and it was a 5 star experience. Firstly the service is truly fantastic. Our waitress Muskan was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and took the time to talk with us and make us feel welcome. The owner Paul is also very friendly and always looking for feedback on the food and how to improve. Its always nice to see someone passionate about food and the diners experience. My friend had the Butter Chicken and I had the Coconut Chicken Curry. Both were absolutely excellent and the sides were equally as good. We had a Paratha, Pashwari nan and some Pilau rice. The owner also brought us out some poppadoms and an array of chutney and spice onions. This is the second fantastic meal we have had and the whole bill including drinks came to just over £40. Great value dinner, made outstanding by the friendly service and nice atmosphere. 100% will be back and can highly recommend this for a great meal out.

This place is an absolute diamond! Unexpectedly found ourselves in Kilmarnock on Monday 19th of February 2024. Fancied an Indian so checked out reviews on Google and they seemed to point to the exotic kitchen. I’m always sceptical of reviews, but, in this case, the reviews weren’t wrong. The food we had (chicken tikka southern Indian garlic chilli and a velvet pineapple) was absolutely fabulous! It really was some of the best Indian food I’ve ever tasted. The staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the dishes and were only two pleased to offer help with ingredients, spices etc. Great value for money at £60 including a bottle of wine and somewhere I’ll be sure to revisit the next time I find myself in Kilmarnock..

Had dinner at exotic tonight and it was amazing. The food was all cooked fresh and was very tasty. We had veggie options and they were the best Indian veggie dishes we've had. Great attentive friendly staff and owner. Would highly recommend.

Worst Lamb Bhuna I've had. Wattery and no depth of flavour. Completely disappointed as it use to be our favourite sadly it's now no longer the same.

Been in a few times more and the consistent high quality of service and food continues. Good to see the place busy on a windy and wet Thursday night and we try and select a different dish every time we are in - hopefully we will go through the card in the near future! Seriously good experience and a great addition to the town.

Popped in here after hearing good reports from friends. Couldn’t fault the food, service or menu. The food was not too spicy, really nice aromatic subtle tastes and clearly good produce with no artificial colouring and additives. Marked the atmosphere down purely because it was mid week and very quiet. Otherwise the review would be 5 stars all the way. Will be back

Seen all the reviews and thought I'd give it a go. Wasn't disappointed. Ordered Lamb biryani (the lamb melted in my mouth), chicken pakora and poppadoms with spiced onions, the best Indian food I've tasted in a long time, well done guys I'll definitely be back

I ate here for the first time a couple of nights ago. The atomosphere and service was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. We tried various dishes on the menu and loved every single one. I would highly reccomend and can't wait to visit again in the future. Thanks for a great night.

First time trying the Exotic kitchen. Will definitely be back food was lovely and cooked exactly as we asked for it.. Service was great only thing I would say is the music was a bit too loud couldn’t hear properly. Looking forward to our next visit.

First visit after being recommended. Amazing welcome and service throughout. My wife and I shared the Royal Tandoori Platter. Everything was so tender and tasty. Served on a bed of onions on a sizzling hot dish. Mains were South Indian Garlic Chilli, Shredded Lamb, Pilau Rice and Garlic Nan. The flavours were fantastic and meat melted in mouth. Needless to say we had a lovely doggie bag to take away as portions are big. Almost forgot to mention that you also receive popadoms with a selection of chutneys and spiced onions after you place your order. Drinks were also very reasonably priced. Highly recommended and looking forward to our next visit.

Read the reviews for this place on here and they were spot on. Gorgeous food, good portions and lovely service at a decent price. Simple as that really. That’s our new Indian of choice now. It really was the friendly service that made the difference compared to our usual regular Indian in Kilmarnock we went to for about four years. Free papadoms and chutneys which were really good. Starters , onion baji and veggie pakora were lovely.South Indian garlic, chile chicken and chicken chasni were fantastic. Rice and Nan gorgeous too. Kids ate the lot too! Went in at 1700 and left at 1900 and it was really busy, which was a surprise for This time if the year. Out of curiosity we drove past the the other Indian we used to go too and it was dead. I think that speaks volumes on a Saturday at peak time. We will be back for sure.

First visit after reading some recommendations. Very warmly welcomed by staff. Restaurant had a good buzz and got busier after we arrived. Good sign. Ordered main courses only, but we were presented with complimentary spiced onions chutney and poppadoms. Delicious. Our meal, chicken tikka karahi and tandoori mixed grill were presented piping hot. Rice and naan bread. All very well cooked and tasty. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Price was very reasonable. We will definitely be back, and will try the takeaway service also.

Just ate here for the first time. It was 20 pounds per head, for three courses, and drinks, this was from the evening menu. Chicken Tikka was the best I have tasted. The food was amazing, fresh and healthy. You will not be disappointed

First visit tonight after seeing the amazing reviews on social media. Can’t fault it, service was great with nothing too much trouble. Food was so fresh and piping hot. Every table was full and they had a steady stream of delivery pickups, even under the pressure the team handled it perfectly and there wasn’t any delay on courses the perfect amount of time between. As soon as my stomach shrinks again we’ll be back!

Got a takeaway from this place last night. Absolutely delicious, esp the lamb rogan josh, the lamb just fell apart. The owner is a really nice guy and explained how everything is cooked as healthy as possible. The portion sizes are generous too. I will defo be back for a sit in meal. Thanks again.

Decided to try this place, Glad we did. Met at door, decor lovely, neat menu, plenty choice including sharing platters, we were served poppadoms ith mixed chutneys and spiced onions as a welcome, we started with mixed imperial pakora, then my wife had a Tandoori dish, Angry Bird chicken thighs with a curry sauce, salad, I had Exotic special dish, creamy coconut sauce, prawns, lamb, and chicken with rice, could not fault anything WILL BE BACK

Visited Exotic Kitchen a few weeks ago. Ordered a veg pakora, when it eventually arrived it was almost cold. Our mains arrived…. Vegetable curry ( asked for Indian veg ) it was frozen mixed veg. Didn’t eat it. Also ordered a paneer South Indian garlic chilli, rice and breads. The paneer dish was okay, have had better, breads were overcooked. Rice was best part of meal. So disappointing, had hoped for better.

We went here after reading all the 5 star reviews. We ordered veg pakora to start, took a while to arrive and when it did it was lukewarm warm. Main meals arrived, mixed veg curry and a paneer curry, a couple of tandoori roti and a portion of rice. Mixed veg curry was frozen veg ( after asking for Indian mixed veg) paneer curry was okay, have tasted better. Rice was lovely and breads were overcooked. We never ate the veg curry, but we’re still charged for it. Overall, very disappointing. Kilmarnock really needs an authentic Indian restaurant that caters for vegetarians

Lamb Rogan josh , tofu korma, vegetable dopiaza, assortment of side dishes, all good size portions, all fresh made , waiter was very attentive and pleasant, very nice and refreshing warm hand wipes at the end of the meal, we will be back , it a great wee gem.

Revisited after a previous good experience. Really tasty starter followed by my friend having the patia and I had one of my favourites - saag paneer - a little different from the usual but tasty and quite spicy and a huge plateful. Will definitely return soon - friendly service and a nice cold pint too

Another Indian in Kilmarnock, another online order and collection shambles. After a previous nightmare at Brown Munde my hopes were low for this new establishment. My expectations were correct, an almost carbon copy of incompetence. After 28 mins of ‘it’s just coming’ I overheard the waitress trying to give my order to someone else. God knows how long it had been sitting there. God knows what would have happened if I hadn’t been listening in. God knows who they thought I was, what order was ‘just coming’? So many issues/questions to consider while heating up my cold order. Wouldn’t it be great to have an Indian restaurant in Kilmarnock that actually cared about people ordering carry outs?

This newish restaurant was recommended by a friend. It is in the centre of Kilmarnock, near local parking and amenities. Our food was delicious - plenty of spice and good sized portions, but not heavy or oily like many Indian meals can be. The owner chatted to us during and after our meal and was charming. He previously ran a restaurant in Glasgow and had to close during the pandemic. He’s restarting in Kilmarnock. Great food, great service, great value in an ideal location. Perfect.

My wife and myself had dinner there on 14th November 2023 as part of my wife's birthday celebrations. The food was stunning, the presentation was first class, and the service excellent. The price was on a par with local Indian restaurants. We will undoubtedly be back.

Had a delivery the other night from here. Pakora starter with what must be the worst sauce I've ever had the misfortune to taste. It is like pink water, milk has more consistency, with no flavour to it at all. Awful, just awful. Both curries were really good, no complants about them. The naans were soggy, why oh why do people insist on wrapping these up in tin foil as it just turns it soggy. Everyone, stop this practice now! Wouls we use again, probably.

Are at this restaurant tonight absolutely beautiful . The food was freshly cooked and very tasty the service was excellent would highly recommend this place the butter chicken and shredded lamb was so tender the pickle tray was lovely and the owner told us everything on it is homemade and you could tell . The food was absolutely incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. Attention to detail by Paul of exactly how you want your food was great. His knowledge of exactly how they prepared each dish and precisely what was in it was excellent. Lamb that falls apart is my usual expectation for a great curry house, but Exotic Kitchen lamb feels like it melts in your mouth. I have eaten thousands of curry dishes in my life and I can honestly say this was the best tasting I can remember. Even trying some of my wife and friends food, was just as good. We had Shredded Lamb, Mango Chicken, Chicken Tikka Massala (no cream - try it!), Rada Lamb, Pillau Rice, Vegetable Rice, Chana Masala, Peshwari Nan, Chapati.

I'm not overly impressed with spiced onions liquid that was dripping from the tub was terrible which rings alarms bells with me onions where swimming I have never experienced spiced onions of this consistency from anywhere before Also I have had spiced onions before from exotic kitchen but that was a good few months ago it certainly wasn't like tonight maybe different owners

Popped in here on a rainy Tuesday night and was not disappointed. I've eaten Indian cuisine all over the UK and this was the best in 25 +years. Service was fantastic and the food is out of this world. Cannot fault anything. Do yourself a favour and try this wonderful little place.

Placed a large order for collection last night for 7 people with both starters & main courses all prepared for collection in double quick time and was cooked to perfection while being piping hot with each dish having its own individual aroma and unique flavours and ingredients to create the most amazing sauces along with the enfused & marinated meats used, giving each bite most exquisite of taste.. and no exaggeration when I mention the portion sizes were brilliant we could have feed an additional 4-5 people you definitely get value for money eating from Exotic Kitchen. Kilmarnock I can't praise it high enough five star definitely, 10 out of 10, got our vote can't wait to try more of the choices from the extensive menu when I next order

Been regular customers here for ages, but left very disappointed tonight.firstly, a 30minut wait to collect after agreed collection time. Arrived home,no rice.pakora was cold and soggy. The spiced onions are about a 1/4 of the size they were. The tandoori chicken wasnt the same taste. Phoned to complain, no help from owner. Wont be back.

Delighted to have found this absolute gem. We started with poppadoms and homemade pickles, mango chutney, spiced onions, and tamarind sauce. The mango chutney and spiced onions were especially good. The haggis pakora was the best we've had in Scotland. For mains, I had the lamb dopiaza and my partner the lamb rogan josh. The lamb was so tender it was falling apart. Flavourful, fragrant, delicious. We're excited to go back and to introduce friends to this fantastic restaurant. Wishing you only success. It will be well deserved.

This is in me and my wife's opinion the best Indian restaurant in Ayrshire. The food is fresh, healthier and oil free and well presented with good portion size. The ambiance is excellent, enhanced by Indian music. Service by Paul (not his Indian/Sekh name) the owner, was excellent. It is little advertised and in the centre of Kilmarnock. It is fully licenced and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill. We will definitely be back.

If I could give more stars I would. This week is the 1st time ever that myself and my wife have ate 3 Indian meals in less than a week, its usually reserved as an occasional treat. We live near Straiton South Ayrshire and after having a few less than ideal experiences with the better known restaurants/takeaway in Ayr, we thought we would branch out, and found this hidden gem of a place. On sunday 26th got a shaslik king prawn with Chasni sauce rice and a naan....to say it was fabulous and out of this world isn't enough, the quality and portion size was astounding the king prawns were more like lobster tails, we LOVED this so much we thought let's go Monday for more of the same but its the night off for the guys. Went back on Tuesday and the lovely beautifully mannered owner greated me with delight, ordered the same, his service was so GREAT I told him next time in Kilmarnock for a movie we'd pop in for a sit down as I was so enamoured with his hospitality. We both Decided to see a movie to night so as promised we spent the most delightful 2 hours in his gorgeous restaurant, he was so friendly happy gracious, his service is second to none......please if you are reading this review or have only ever had a takeaway from this restaurant you simply MUST go see this amazing man and sample his hospitality and the 1st class food. Enjoyed the food a lot. Very polite staff. We tried "lamb rada" recommended by the owner and it was awesome. Mind you, it might be spicy for some, but you can always ask to tone it down a bit. However we wnated to have it the proper Indian way, spicy and bursting with flavours, along with semi crisp tandoori rotis - and it was a delight!
