Cafe Rico

East Kilbride Central North, South Lanarkshire, <20£
01/07/2018: I was in Rico’s today and had a lovely lunch. The service was very quick and the food was delicious. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back.
06/06/2018: Took my elderly mum for a quick bite to eat, pleasantly surprised, lovely home made lentil soup and chunky sandwiches no scrimping on the filing, pleasant serving staff and clean surroundings. No alcohol served though soft drinks and tea/coffees only.

Stefano's Italian

Bothwell and Uddingston, South Lanarkshire
15/09/2018: We have eaten in Stefanos a few times the food is always fresh and absolutely delicious , the service is second to none absolutely can’t get better , they will cook anything for children amazing
10/09/2018: Last minute family dinner for 5 people on Friday evening and all found the restaurant small and cosy. The food was enjoyed by all.

Fenwick Hotel

Irvine Valley, East Ayrshire
18/11/2018: Had a really lovely meal tonight with one reservation. I chose the carvery option while my husband chose steak pie. I was told to wait until the steak pie came to go up for the carvery. The steak pie came and although the place was not busy I had to queue behind a family of 4 who seemed to take an age at the meat then another lady, then at my turn there were no plates! The young lady carving the meats was very apologetic but still no plates appeared and she eventually went off and came back with one extremely hot plate for my meal which even though she gave me two bundles of napkins to hold it with was so hot I thought I was going to drop it on the way back to my table where my husband was half way through his meal. The food, especially the roast beef was excellent (avoid the Yorkshires - you could sole your shoes with them) but it would be nice to eat together. Surely not hard to keep the carvery area supplied with plates!
16/11/2018: table was showing significant signs of wear with holes in the surface, not hygienic. My starter was Stornoway black pudding with a poached egg but was mainly salad with a thin slice of pudding, although egg was properly cooked. Mains were small serving and poor. Lamb was undercooked and fatty, veg undercooked and dauphinoise potato mushy. Other diners had similar experience. Place is looking tired and service no more than adequate.

Restaurant 33 @ Parkstone Hotel

Prestwick, South Ayrshire
19/11/2018: We enjoyed our overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfast and also afternoon tea (only complaint is the cheap white bread used for the sandwiches and also same for the toast at breakfast) We had a lovely sea view from Room 8 - just the plumbing needs some attention in this room otherwise all fine. Friendly staff and good service all round.
10/11/2018: Have visited twice as hotel guest. Food has been, without exception ,delicious. Lovely traditional restaurant.Friendly efficient staff. Lovely sea views by day. Would happily visit anytime.

Indian Times

Avondale and Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire
15/12/2018: Ive been here a few times and always found the food to be of a high standard, service was efficient and friendly. Yet to have a bad meal here and its good value for money
11/12/2018: Been few times to this restaurant & also had take aways, the food is excellent & plenty of dishes to choose from. Unfortunately the whole place is needing an update as it’s tired & worn looking. Alright for quick lunch but def wouldn’t go to dinner, surroundings just doesn’t have ambiance which is a shame. Wish decor was as good as the food.

The Carrick Pub & Restaurant

Irvine West, North Ayrshire
17/12/2018: We arrived at the bar for works day out about 1.30 and managed to get a booth at the top right corner got settled and everyone arrived bit by bit up to the bar for drinks to be met by a sullen faced barmaid who didnt know the difference between a goblet and a pint tumbler two of us were on pink gin so i asked for fruit as well please to be informed we are not a cocktail bar.i queried that as there are a few bars in irvine and they have all gave fruit and berries with the gin.again she repeated well not here .and proceeded to pour our gins into small glasses i again had to ask her for tall glasses when she refused the goblets after a quick perusal of the bar and settled on chunky glasses to allow us to fill it up with sprite no sense of festive spirit in any of the we were sitting enjoying our get together a waitress came up and slapped down a reservation for 5pm notice on the table and when we queried it as we had been there since 1.30 and it was now 4pm she said some man had removed it previously which had not been the case as nothing was anywhere around.she promised us no 17 or 18 as they had been served their meal and were getting ready to leave but they didnt so no table. We moved across to a cramped dark corner where we all felt disgusted at our treatment while the manager set up the table with table covers etc.luckily a gentleman who had been sitting at the booth next to us with his wife came over and offered us the table as they were leaving but we were sorely disappointed in both the carrick and the staff as a whole it used to be more welcoming to customers with the climate in relation to pubs and the competition from other establishments its really went down in my estimation i encouraged my work mates to come here from out of town and i was left embarassed by the whole event
01/09/2018: Had a family lunch here today. Food was lovely and staff were friendly. Very reasonably priced. Had a mixture of starters, soup was delicious and also nacho starter.

Tony Macaroni

East Kilbride Central North, South Lanarkshire
12/11/2018: Thought we'd have a take out instead of sitting in. We were pleasantly surprised to find a deal with the pizzas so very pleased with the price
07/11/2018: My family and I entered the restaurant and had high hopes for it as every other visit has been excellent. We were greeted with an ignorant and totally hostile manager who sat us at a canteen like table. Just note it’s far from canteen prices.

Spice Indian Cuisine

Hamilton North and East, South Lanarkshire
25/11/2018: A group of 25 Celtic supporting friends from East Kilbride had our annual Hamilton v Celtic day out. Previously experiencing disappointing quality and service at the actual Hamilton FC hospitality at the stadium we opted to try something different this time. We booked the after match hospitality package at the nearby Spice Indian restaurant and were blown away with the value for money. The bottles of beer were on the table awaiting our arrival along with the spiced onions and poppadums. Service was efficient and timely. Large platters of mixed pakora were produced all tasting fresh hot and delicious. Shortly followed by the main courses, again hot delicious and ample portions. The manager was highly visible and very attentive. One or two of the waiters could have had a more positive demeanour but in fairness it was very busy with a restaurant full of supporters. All in all this was a very good experience and one which we will be looking to make a regular return to.
14/11/2018: We used to visit another indian restaurant not too far from Spice, I am sure you know the one I am talking about and while there food was lovely, Spice knocks it out the park for both flavour of the dishes and value for money - Would recommend to anyone looking for an indian in South Lanarkshire to visit Spice.

Hamilton North and East, South Lanarkshire
24/11/2018: I’m not the greatest fan of Nando’s, but it’s basically fast food, with a restaurant feel. It does frustrate me that you’re expected to go up to the counter to order and pay. Ordered a small can of Pale Ale £4.25, I feel that’s excessive, I’ll probably only visit when I fancy some fried chicken where the restaurant can state where they source their chicken, which to their credit Nando’s can...
04/11/2018: Stopped by Nando's Hamilton on the way back from picking my sister up from work for a takeaway. Was told about 10 mins when we placed the order until it would be ready. 20 mins later I looked over and saw what looked like my order being place in the box for takeaway. A further 10 mins after that they finally brought us our food for it to be cold to the touch. Not impressed. When we mentioned this they put it back on the grill for 30 seconds as if this would make it hot again. Got home less than 5 mins later to have to put the lot in the microwave

Spice Cube

Prestwick, South Ayrshire
08/07/2018: Really disappointed.. waited over an hour and 30 minutes and food really tasteless looks like the chicken had been boiled before. Naan bread thinner then a pizza base. Kebab tasteless.. terrible! Would not recommend it!! Will not be back

Kebab King

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
12/08/2018: My partner and I both thought we would try a Kebab from Kebab King and will never ever go there again. The So called Chicken was only good enough to put on my shoe as a replacement sole. The thing was covered in sauce and made it un- eatable.I will never return.
18/01/2018: I have been coming here for years for kebabs and while the quality remains the portion sizes get smaller yet the price gets higher. couldn’t believe how little you get in hogis and munchy boxes now when you used to get so much for your money. While the kebabs are still good you end up spending a fortune and not even getting a decent portion. sort it out kebab king!

15/05/2016: A lovely place for a meal or a snack, breakfast or lunch we haven't had dinner here but our breakfast and our lunch were lovely the food is excellent and prepared to perfection the staff are good and kept on their toes as it is a busy wee place there is ample parking and a golf shop for the so inclined it has a good area for children to play in close proximity to your table so its no problem to let the kids have a we adventure with the toys whilst you stuff your face with tea coffee cakes or whatever your heart desires. yummy

The Beresford

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
26/06/2016: we have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times and found the standard of this establishment well above most of the restaurants we visit in Glasgow. the staff are so friendly and polite. nothing to much trouble. the atmosphere and the décor are so relaxing. the food is of a good standard, breakfast good value, lunch good value, dinner good value, drinks prices reasonable, I have to say the 22 gets 22 out of 22 from me.
21/11/2015: This was the first time to this restaurant, we found the food Excellent and very good value, the service was great and the atmosphere good, It was Busy but we did not have too long to wait.

Red Chilli Diner

Larkhall, South Lanarkshire
10/05/2017: Only visited once, food was ok but wouldn't return. Owner was nice but service a bit slow and needed a bit of training I think.
23/04/2017: Have now visited this restaurant on a few occasions plus had carry outs. Food is always top quality and quick efficient service. Good value for money.
