WG13 in East Ayrshire

Had a lunchtime meal and it was wonderful, prices were good. Service was very professional, even though i left some food i was politely asked if it was all ok and anything weong. The feedback was taken onboard and accepted politley too. Will visit again.

Went here for dinner before a show. Decor good, staff attentive and the food / portions were very good. Time to serve each course was a little slow but given the size of the kitchen the staff did excellent. The prices were very reasonable as well I would defo go back.

First time visiting in a Saturday afternoon. The interior is lovely and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. Staff friendly and seated quickly. Plenty of variety on the menu. Only managed one course because they are generous servings for the very reasonable prices. It’s a hidden gem, will be visiting more often.

Popped into WG13 in the hope pf getting a table which we did and wow, the food is incredible and the service second to none and reasonably priced, would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to eat.

Delighted with the tasty and well presented food (Haggis bon bons and Cajun Pasta for myself, mozzarella sticks and Cajun panini for my partner). The young man who served us was excellent, the young lady, perhaps a manageress was equally nice.The setting was pleasant with a nice ambience.Quality and price were excellent. I highly recommend this place.My only regret is not coming sooner.Thank you so much.

5 of us on a wet Sunday for my wife's birthday lunch, I'd agree menu isn't widely varied but the more choice on offer means more cost to the venue, I think they concentrate on popular meals served at Aldi prices but M&S quality, you could easily get a crap meal somewhere with a wider, more expensive menu. We had 5 main, 2 desserts, 2 alcohols & 2 coffees. Generous helpings of delicious food served by lovely staff but they had the cheek to ask for.....£41.25?? Only joking of course, we all had a really nice time, bill was discounted due to quiet time but even at full price, I'd feel we got good value. Definitely a wee gem of a place for Killie.

We were here for lunch today. The lunch menu doesn't have a great choice, especially if you don't like spicy food. But it's very cheap - £6.95 for 2 courses. The food was delicious and portions so large that I couldn't finish mine. The staff, as always were pleasant and helpful.

This was my first visit to WG13 today. The food was extremely good, very pleasant and professional staff. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

I was given Parmesan on my allegedly vegetarian meal without having been asked if I wanted it and it did not state on the menu either. As the owners and chef should know Parmesan is made using rennet which is Not vegetarian. When I asked if it was a vegetarian substitute I was met with confused looks and nobody seemed to realise? Very poor in my opinion to say you are offering vegetarian options and not actually be educated on what is vegetarian.

Overall meal was good. My main criticism is I did not get my crusty roll with my soup, instead I got two slices of cheap white bread. When asked by waitress if I was enjoying my soup, I said to her, where is the crusty roll, as I'd ordered the soup because of the roll. She went away to see about the roll which she eventually gave me with my main meal, moreover apologising about the mistake and also taking cost of bill.

Having been to wg13 on multiple occasions I can only rave about it . I think there has been two occasions where the food wasn’t at its usual high standard but it doesn’t put me off . Staff have always been nothing but attentive and professional . I’m not sure if many people know the work that goes on behind the scenes and the amount of young adults with additional needs that WG13 job train . The work that is done is exceptional and all the team should be very proud of all that they have achieved . I will always be a customer and and a spread the word of the fantastic opportunities that young people get here . Well done !!!!!

Visited this restaurant after four pm and had the place to ourselves. Menu was a bit limited but enough choices. We had home made soup haggis bon bons and fish goujons. A glass of wine and soft drink at a total cost of £16.00. During the day they do a lot of paninis and home baking which looked delicious. Will definitely be back.

Our family of seven adults and four children had dinner on Hogmanay at WG 13. I have to say a big thank you to all the staff, they were a credit to the restaurant. The food was lovely and hot and service was great. No one at the table had any complaints whatsoever. Prices are very reasonable and nothing is any bother to the staff. They even allowed us to pick some food from the lunc menu and evening menu. Thanks we will be back

Booked a table here to celebrate my daughter's birthday and we had a lovely time. The staff were attentive (went out there way to set up a surprise balloon and birthday cake) and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend this venue...my new favourite place to eat in Kilmarnock

Popped in with a friend for lunch on Thursday....Had been meaning to try WG13 for a while and have finally got round to doing it....Very nice décor throughout and very modern..Great lunch menu starting at £3.95 for 1 course.....£5.95 for 2 courses and £7.95 for 3 courses...We both had haddock goujons with tartare sauce, chips and salad...Food was lovely and cooked to order...Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful...Great price and would defo recommend...x

Best place to eat in kilmarnock with friendly staff and great prices.I have been a few times with my friend for lunch and your not getting rushed like some places.Everything is well presented and portion size is good.

This was our 4th time here after only discovering it 3 weeks ago. First 3 times were absolutely fab!! Tonight a slight disappointment. We ordered the exact same dishes we had the last time we were here for a meal and obviously something had went amiss in the kitchen. The waiter sorted out our concerns tonight and we will definitely be back and recommend highly.

Went to WG13 for afternoon tea this week. Sandwiches were freshly made, homemade scone and jam, strawberry, raspberry and caramel mini tarts, shortbread and millionaires shortbread...everything was delicious and a wee glass of prosseco. Would definitely recommend a visit. All the staff are lovely too.

I took my mum here for mothers day and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food is fab and quite big portion sizes. I used a groupon voucher and definitely feel we got value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to go to wg13 again.

Had lunch here for the first time with a friend. We chose two mains and desserts from the express menu which is great value for money. Food was well presented and tasty. Looking forward to another visit when in town.

Visited today with a groupon voucher! Next time I won’t hesitate in going without 1 and paying full rate, even at that it is very reasonable! All 3 courses were delicious, the pate, roast beef and brownie with ice cream! It’s not fine dining but if your looking for a nice simple meal that’s well cooked in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere this is the place! Also spotless! Highly recommended. Try it!!!

We called in Saturday lunchtime, did not have a reservation but were able to find a table. The service was quick and the food was excellent, tasty, well presented, hot and great value. I had the prawn cocktail, followed by haddock mornay, my wife had garlic mushrooms followed by her usual steak pie. The food was so good we opted for a sweet, Baileys home made cheese cake and millionaire shortbread sundae.

Phone early afternoon for an evening meal, no problem. Arrived to find it very busy with several parties. Service was excellent as was the food. Would recommend this place to anyone.

This is our second time at WG13.

We had a meal on this occasion and it was really good but the very merry eton mess I would highly recommend to everyone. The portions are great and the staff couldn't be more helpfulnir friendly. Very reasonably priced. A room upstairs is big enough for meetings and functions

Have known about this place for sometime but hadn't got round to visiting till last week. A quick return trip this week shows how much we enjoyed the food! Staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Will definitely be back.

We popped in here for a coffee and cake when we had a few minutes spare before catching a train. The food and drink were both fine and the service was both quick and pleasant. The place itself was spotlessly clean.

Been here a few times for breakfast as well as lunch. Good range of food on the menus as well as good value for money. There are also good deals on too. Bit of a funny closing times as several times I have driven past it has been closed. Other than that a good little spot for a bite to eat.

We visited early on a Saturday afternoon for a late breakfast. i have visited before for a coffee and cake and found it to be a nice place to sit for a chat with friends. The food this time was average, we had a cooked breakfast which tasted like poor quality items, I've had better from burger vans. That said i would definitely go back for a coffee sometime. Also the service we had was really great, very nice guy.

a cafe and restaurant combined. suitable for morning coffee, light lunch, afternoon tea with cake or tray bake , dinner. Bright and airy. The booths give a sense of privacy. I had a look at function rooms while visiting the clean toilet facilities, and thought they looked bright,clean, fresh. Good wedding venue,I imagine.

Nicely decorated and appeared very clean. Young waiter very friendly. Good menu choice and reasonably priced. We had a booth next to the window which was nice and had blinds if the sun was too low. However it might have felt a bit cold on the other side of the room as it did get a bit chilly when the sun went into the clouds. This is only a minor thing though as it didn't spoil our enjoyable experience of this venue. Will certainly be back.

Came here for dinner last night, Friday 17th and although there was a mix-up about booking and place was just about to shut, they stayed open to accomodate 10 people for dinner!! Staff were very nice and courteous and the food was delicious! Thankyou very much to the chef and the staff for a great night! Would definately reccomend this place for food!

Loved the food had 3 courses and each one was fantastic would highly recommend and greatly priced at £13.00 for 3 courses.

1st visit to this restaurant and won't be the last. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was tremendous!!! Best meal out in ages, we all chose something different from the menu and we all loved our meals. Very attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. And to top off the meal we all had dessert....and they are to die for!! Love this restaurant, loved the whole experience and will be back really soon.

Had wanted to visit this place for a while and decided to visit for cake and coffee one Sunday afternoon.

Loved this place. Meet friends for lunch, we had a great laugh. No hassle to hurry up and move out. Took my husband back for breakfast. It was great. Staff really friendly and accommodating.

Christmas day dinner menu was well presented and looked like a good idea to go for dinner with santa being there too. Nope place was crammed cold and noisy, food was freezing and was slammed on a plate like an inmates, asked for salt as dish was empty and she brought more empty dishes, horrific organisation horrific food spoiled my Christmas day and obviously santa never turned up very unhappy and will not be back

Was the as part of a group for achristmas lunch, main course - half the group served then a half hour wait. Turkey was served with Yorkshire pudding. Sauce tasted like it was out of a Knorr packet. Roast beef served without. One person asked for the haddock. Was served salmon (with a Yorkshire pudding). Roast potatoes appeared bought and re-heated. Veg mushy. Dessert, well, don't know because I had to leave before it was served so last (we booked for 1 and it got to 2.45) was slow and basically incompetent. Whoever manages this place should be throwin out on their ear. I am told there is public money involved in this venture and our organisation wants to support it. Never again. Worst dining experience possible.

At last a decent place in Kilmarnock to go and get a decent, reasonably priced meal with great friendly staff. Try the steak pie, amazing

Had a lovely meal with friends here, the staff were lovely. The portions were very good and filling. The garlic mushrooms were to die for! Will definitely be back. Only criticism is there are no chips on the menu, and the menu is a little small. But over-all very nice.

Went with a crowd of Ladies for our monthly lunch Service was slow, but lunch was very good sweet was good but overpowered with choc sauce Staff was very good

I had the steak pie(huge chunks of steak!), with all the trimmings, and a bottle of Brooklyn Beer from the good drinks list.

Visited for coffee and a scone not great I have to say ,service very slow probably won't return .£12 2xcoffee s 2 scones !!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with friends. To start I had the bruschetta and was lovely only fault maybe too much balsamic vinegar but that's down to personal preference. For my main I had the spaghetti bolognese and it was lovely. I asked for Parmesan cheese and it came in a dish with a spoon which is great because I like to put my own on. For dessert I shared the chocolate brownies with a friend and wish I had got a full one to myself it was delicious! Would definitely return as great value for money and staff were very friendly and attentive. Hopefully go back soon.

Went in for lunch. 2 adults 2 kids. Maybe 4/5 other tables in at the time. Took ages to get drinks. Then had to go & ask if we ordered at the till for food as nobody came near us. Waited at least 15 minutes to get served. Once the food came it was delicious & plenty of it. Kids enjoyed their food too. Ok price too. I would go back in the hope we'd be served quicker.

Excellent food certainly value for money, quick service, spotlessly clean, good relaxed atmosphere. Staff go the extra mile to please. Very impressed, will definitely return and highly recommend.

Have been eating here since it opened and can honestly say I have never had a bad meal in here. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly. There is a nice relaxing atmosphere and the food is always good. It's simple but homecooked, done really well and the portions are decent. Excellent value for money which is what we need!! There are too many places charging city prices and you don't get much on your plate. You won't find that here.

My daughter and I visited on an impulse while in that area of town. The staff were really nice and friendly and the food we had was good. Will visit again.

I have been at this venue three times so far and had two 5 star experiences and one 1 star experience so I have placed my rating in the middle.

Arrived in Kilmarnock looking to eat before the Rod Stewart concert. Everywhere was too busy. Came upon WG13 by chance and what a great find!! Although it was busy we got a table straight away. Two courses for £9.50 can't go wrong! We had great starters and mains freshly cooked with fast service. Our waitress was very attentive and looked after us well. We set off to our gig full and happy! !

I've been meaning to try here since it opened, but it's taken me till now to get here and I was not disappointed, bright, clean fresh and excellent food to boot. We had the two course evening menu, with a great choice of starters and mains I plumped for mushrooms on ciabatta followed by chicken with black pudding potatoes and veg, 2 glasses of wine and coffee t finish, everything was cooked to perfection and our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable and we had not one complaint, in fact I have been singing it's praises to anyone that is willing to listen, it is my wedding anniversary this weekend and WG 13 is my pick for dinner, having been once I an hungry for more!!

Great simple food , faultless service and good price. No complaints would highly recommend a visit. Good venue with relaxed atmosphere.

Very disappointed.Only another two tables occupied but still had to wait 35mins for a bowl of soup and a toastie.Carrot and ginger soup was inedible.Too much ginger.Waitress didn't ask if I wanted my soup first or with my toastie.Brought both together.Didnt help with impressions on leaving that the chef was standing outside in the rain having a cigarette.Looked very unprofessional.Wont hurry back.

Had been in before for coffee so i decided its time to take the wife for Dinner a really nice wee interesting Menu they offer i chose the pan fried Chicken with bacon black pudding mash and of course Peppercorn Sauce the wife had the Salmon in a Dill Sauce they have a good selection of Beers as well will defo be back at this restaurant Friendly Staff, Great Food, Good Prices, I think its a Great New Addition to the Kilmarnock Dining Scene

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I had previously read that the restaurant and adjoining floors were a social enterprise for those with special needs, teaching them employability skills.

Met friends for late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Staff was welcoming and food was good. Can't complain bout anything.

Had no idea what a great place this is... our food was delicious, great price, and the staff were superb.

Went today with my 2 daughters for coffee and cake. Can't complain about cleanliness, food etc however I felt it was quite pricey. £4 for a piece of cake albeit it was a good size and £1.95 for a tea which came in a small pot and I struggled to get 2 small cups out of it. I did expect it to be cheaper than that and there are nicer places in Kilmarnock that are cheaper. I will however return for lunch to try it.

My husband and I decided to visit my old place of work which has been transformed into a lovely café/wine bar. The staff are really friendly and the coffee was fab. Would definitely go back for a second visit. Thanks for allowing me to view the top floor function suite which was lovely. This would be a great intimate venue for a family gathering or small function. Great views of the station from the windows.

Menu not extensive but enough to choose,4 of us all had different meals and were excellent tasted from starters to Main course.No room left for a sweet unfortunately.Decor very nice

Dropped in for a coffee and was very pleased with the new restaurant/coffee shop in town. Very clean throughout and very helpful young staff. Service was good and coffee was very nice with a great selection of cakes.

This is my 3rd time at WG13 and feel that the food is average and lacks presentation. My starter of pate was lovely but main course of chilli beef with rice and sour cream tasted lovely but looked unappetising. My son ordered sausage and chive mash and that's what he got! Not a vegetable in sight. Will go back for coffee and cake, but sorry can get a nicer meal elsewhere

Have visited WG13 and been impressed with the Open Plan Kitchen and the interior design.

Great service and friendly and attentive staff. Had my 15 month daughter with us and waitress couldn't have been nicer and more attentive. Apologised for wait which I didn't think was a problem anyway. Ordered soups to start and steak pie husband had macaroni..both cooked well only problem was no chips on menu. My little girl had bangers and mash massive portion. Bill came £22 great value for two courses and kids meal. If you fancy good plain cooking and nothing fancy this is the place.

Popped in for quick coffee enroute to station. Gent who served us very helpful and polite explained about event on tonight and upcoming gin tasting. No pressure to purchase cakes or meal (cakes DID look YUMMY). Loved decor and that you can see food prep area. Will most definitely be back here.

Second visit did not disappoint. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere and tasty, good value for money food. Always an apology in hand if things not running smoothly and a warm, wet cloth on hand if you happen to drop a dirty knife down your top!! Definitely will be back

Great new restaurant for Kilmarnock. Lovely friendly young staff. Usual lunch time fare but very tasty an well presented . Its a bit of a climb to the toilets on first floor but burnt off few calories from tasty cheesecake. There is an accessible loo too.

Decided to visit the newly opened restaurant in Kilmarnock WG13 ( 13 West George Street) after several good reports from friends and work colleagues!

We went for breakfast which was of a good standard and excellent value. The staff were well trained. The restaurant was spotless and there was space to enjoy the food as the tables are arranged for comfort. The have a good selection of gluten free choices which are difficult to get.

Booked for a fixed price Valentine Menu, 19.95, food was 1st class, service was amazing, 2 charming and witty waitresses , will be back shortly.

WG13 never fails to impress me.I love the food, the service and the modern relaxed atmosphere. i have also attended a party in the drawing room which was amazing and well planned out.

Nice and convenient for town centre , Not a large selection to choose from but enough to pick from , Lovely and fresh meal able to see kitchen from the tables everything clean , Nice staff although we were overcharged by a fair amount , But would go back

Decided to go on foursome with some friends booked our table well in advance staff were very pleasant but not that great when it came to ordering our starter for the four of us only meals for 3 arrived there was no cutlery on the table and i had to ask for side plates one of the meals was a sharing platter the fourth meal finally arrived but my friends were nearly finished theirs .had to wait a while for main course again no cutlery !so pinched some from an empty table ours was the only one without, the waitress didn't even notice this ,food portion was good as was most of the meals my friends main course was with noodles which were cold, when asked by the waitress if all was ok I told her about the cold noodle dish she cleared the table and that was that ,our desserts came with cutlery hurrah all in all the experience of dining here was a hit and a miss

Service was 1st class, could not fault it at all. Food was great. Well worth giving this place a try. Very clean and modern, but could do with dimming the lights down a bit at night. Was a bit bright for a restaurant on Valentine's Day.

Finally managed to get around to booking WG13 for a family meal. I had driven past several times and it always looked busy.

Visited on Wednesday with ex work colleague. Service was excellent, food was really good and the prices were very reasonable. The decor is very nice. Would highly recommend

I have now visited this cafe a few times. When it first opened the food and service was very nice but since then it seems to have gone downhill. New staff every time you go in, nobody seems to know what menu to give you, I even heard staff debating about how to make a cappuccino. Once I walked in and a woman in a suit (possibly the owner or manager) seemed to be shouting at all the staff which made for a terrible atmosphere.

Eleven friends and family had a wonderful meal and drinks in a bright and warm friendly atmosphere to celebrate my 50th birthday. First class service, gorgeous and piping hot food, good varied menu and reasonable prices. Nothing was too much trouble. Will be back very soon.

Visited tonight for £9.50 early bird menu. Bright, modern restaurant. Not too crowded which was good. Food was very good. Good sized portions. Drinks reasonably priced. Only fault is quite slow service. This was due to not enough staff on. Only 2 waitresses on but 1 seemed to stay behind counter most of time so one girl trying to do everything. One more waitress would make all the difference. Well worth a visit though. I would definitely return.

Open near to the railway station in an old estate agent's premises. The Location is a bit tricky for pedestrians due to the busy roads and several junctions, but plenty of parking nearby - fee required. WG13 is a training based business and is hard to analyse from the outside as it looks more like an expensive restaurant than the reasonable priced 'all welcome' establishment that it actually is.

Was in here today for my first time with a friend for a breakfast, but they don't do full breakfasts mainly breakfast rolls so we opted for the lunch menu - which they kindly accommodated us as it was only 11.30am and they had checked with the chef if this would be ok - we both had garlic mushrooms and steak pie, as we went for the offer 2 courses for £7.50 not to be sniffed at and we both had a cappuccino. The service was lovely, welcoming and the staff were really friendly. You didn't need to wait to long inbetween the courses, the cappuccino's were really nice not to strong. The garlic mushrooms were absolutely amazing, really tastey and full of flavour. The steak pie if you are stickler on how a pie should be this is like a stew with puff pastry on top, doesn't bother me but i know it bothers some, meat is really tender and full of flavour and the vegetables that came with it were cooked perfectly. I could not fault this restaurant, food, or service in anyway.
