The way you treat anglers is shocking and the way you respond to them is a cop out. You don’t have fisher folk coming into your establishment because of the way you treat them and when called out about your treatment your response is shocking. The majority of your responses have nothing to do with what people complain about or you making an excuse for it. And you choosing to put your employees pay checks up by 22% doesn’t mean a sandwich should cost over £10. If you choose to raise your employees wage that much the customers shouldn’t be the ones who suffer for it, it’s not the customers fault you raise your wages so high but don’t actually have the money to pay them without making your prices silly amounts for food that isn’t that great. You’re a cafe at a fishery not a 5 star restaurant. Keep in mind the place was and still is a fishery first and you should be treating all your customers with respect regardless of why they are there, especially if they’re coming in to pay and eat. I used to love coming up to the fishery because the staff were so lovely and welcoming now you can’t use the toilet without being looked at as if you don’t belong there. All you have to do is look at your reviews to see you guys are the reason the place has gone down hill and why so many fisher folk have said they won’t be returning. You are your own problem and refusing to admit it just makes you look worse.

Went fishing today fantastic day fishing until I entered the lairds table immediately judged by 2 specific members of staff ! Then sat down to see the menu and wasn't happy all I wanted was a cafe meal not a 5* restaurant i understand why the prices are however the staff were unreal felt like a joke some very stuck up people for a fishery cafe shame as most staff and members of the fishery are amazing however today I did not feel welcome to a fishery I've been fishing longer than the cafe has been open I think they need another remodle selling normal stuff with normal prices would make more money the lairds table has ruined the entire crauferdland castle and 22% wage increase in think minimum wage only goes up 9.8 % so that seems to be a you problem not a customers so please don't blame customers taken from a previous post of another angry fisherman

Very underwhelmed and disappointed. Not very busy but food took a while to come out. When it did, orders wrong and had to be sent back. We had two avocado toast and poached eggs. One was fine, the other had eggs so hard and overcooked, verging on inedible…totally inconsistent. Seemed understaffed. Won’t be rushing back…very poor experience overall…

Normally Iove the lairds table but have to say a bit disappointed today. Lovely setting and most of our food was good. My 'Ayrshire Ham' and cheese sandwich £11... Definitely supermarket packet ham and sliced cheese and one meagre slice of bread. Not good value for money felt like a work sandwich I make for myself. Service a bit higgldey piggdley with different servers and felt a bit slow. Sorry for poorer review than normal but just not as good as been in the past. Great coffee and cake which helped and a nice walk around the estate too seeing new lambs.

Went here for a family lunch. It wasn’t very busy, so the atmosphere was a bit subdued. Given that it wasn’t busy, service could have been a bit more attentive (we asked for water three times). The food was fine, but nothing special. Coffee was great, nice and hot.

Always enjoy visiting The Lairds table at Craufurdland Estate. The locally sourced food tastes amazing! We recently attended an event to showcase their new menu. Everything we tried was of a very high standard. My favourite being the eggs Benedict on a homemade muffin. The service is always attentive and friendly. The setting is picturesque and always refreshing to take a stroll before heading home.

Recently my daughter and I joined a group at The Laird’s Table for a very pleasant time sampling dishes that will be on the new brunch menu being launched this week. The new chefs had created several delicious items from scratch accompanied by various freshly made tasty breads such as focaccia, brioche, muffins and others. Very enjoyable! Wishing all at The Laird’s Table every success with the new menu.

Was disappointed today with lunch. Noticed the menu has changed and doesn't include baked potatoes any longer. Ordered ham and cheese sandwich on brown bread. The bread was really dry and not edible. I politely informed the waitress and she offered an alternative. I had the same filling but on white bread, but unfortunately this was also very dry and hard. On a positive note, the coleslaw and coffee is nice. Also noticed the prices have increased though this is not a surprise and to be expected nowadays. This is a place where I enjoyed visiting as the surroundings are beautiful. The staff are attentive and polite. Unfortunately I don't think I will be returning 😕

We've been to this place a few times and it's always been a pleasure. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. There's lots of thoughtful little touches explaining the history of Craufurdland. This time, we only had cake and coffee. The toffee loaf was delicious and the cappucino is always good. My husband enjoyed his cake and coffe too. The Laird's table also has a dog friendy area, which is great as you can pop in for a spot to eat after walking your dog in the surrounding countryside.

Despite pre booking and perhaps 6 others diners, the soup was at best Luke warm and the Caesar Salad which I was so looking forward to , was served without croutons or chicken and was basically a green salad with a vinegrette dressing and a few cherry tomatoes. So disappointing. Seabass and items from vegetarian menu were unavailable. On past occasions much better overall.

Absolutely horrendous xmas dinner we paid over £800 for 9 of us and we received such small portions that we went home hungry, £85 a head yet only 4 prawns in prawn cocktail, one roast potato cut into 4 and half a carrot cut into 3 on main dinner and no other vegetables and who on earth serves the dark meat of a turkey without asking first! I personally give my dog the dark meat. Now I get that staff etc need paid and I wouldn't have minded the £85 if I had actually got a decent dinner. I was looking so forward to this as family had came over from Australia but so disappointed and will never be back oh and service was all over the place massive wait for the main and thinking back it's probably because they had to ration the portions as they never had enough to go round.

The food was lovely and our gluten free and vegetarian party members were well catered for. Special mention to the 2 ladies who looked after us, they were funny and attentive and worth a visit for their chat alone. We had amongst other things, burgers, a veggie burger, scampi and also soup, all were lovely. Overall quite disappointing, despite the nice staff and obviously nice environment. The EV charger is advertised as 22kW but was at best a 7kW (i.e. it was much slower than expected/advertised). We were told there were no walk-ins which was odd as there seemed to be lots of free tables. We opted for takeaway. The food was fine but not great, particularly the cheese toastie was a warm lump of cheddar between two slices of almost toasted bread. The prices were a bit steep for the quality of the food, but there were some especially odd extras such as £1.10 for vegan cheese or £1.20 for GF bread.

It was very quiet and we ordered 3 x fruit and 1 x plain scones with butter and jam, a chicken ceasar salad, an adult and a child's soup, coffees and child's juice. Waitress returned to inform us that there was only 1 fruit scone left. Changed to 3 plain + 1 fruit. When they arrived the scones were hard, obviously not fresh, but defrosted and not tasty. The chicken ceasar salad arrived without chicken. The soups were nice. Nice place for a walk, but will give the Cafe a miss from now on.

We have been walking around Craufurdland for years and notice a huge difference in the last few years in terms of their various money making enterprises. A small cup of takeaway fries will set you back £4, a lunch of gluten free pasta is just under £16!!! I'd fully expect that price and happily pay it for an evening dining experience but not for a lunch. The food is okay, but certainly not worthy of the prices they charge. Whilst I appreciate they have the grounds and road to maintain, they are now charging for car parking for anyone not purchasing food or drinks. It all just smacks of greed rather than need.

This was a unique and wonderful experience on our tour across Scotland! Not only did we get to tour this beautiful and history-rich castle full of books, portraits, and artifacts from bygone eras, we also met and DINED WITH the hospitable and amiable Laird and Lady Craufurd! They led us through the part of the castle that they reside in, sharing stories from the centuries about the castle and the family, and both gave us learning and laughter as they shared a bit of cheek and flavor about the past. Dinner was delightful with a taste of local favorites...split pea and pear soup (I had doubts, but so tasty!), chicken breast in a whiskey sauce over locally sourced vegetables, and a finish with a light but decadent raspberry trifle. The chef made a special appearance to check in with us and with the Laird and Lady, and he was received with grand applause! We so enjoyed this experience and highly recommend to any visitors to the region...it's unlike anything else we found in Scotland and a must-do...top memory for us from our travels! Gratitude to our lovely hosts, the Laird and Lady Craufurd!

The only improvement would be to change the fries to those with the skin on, they look more genuine. But to be perfect! I have been here on several occasions. Really liked the place. I reccomended it to our friends. On this occasion it was really disappointing. Not only did i get the wrong starter. The staff member alerted me she was just back from holiday thats what she thought i ordered I got a very thin piece of what felt like red plastic assured it was onion skin by member of staff on my roll which was not supposed to be there i had bitten into my roll.. The management had assured me it was onion skin and not plastic. Never the less i never had onion on my gf roll. My friend ordered a desert. Chocolate torte. It was almost £9 for 2cm x2cm of what i would describe as choc mouse on a choc biscuit base. Gone in one spoonful. Plate decorated with jelly sauce and a white choc stick.. Nicest part of my meal was hand cut chips. My husband got fries which were over cooked. I have really liked this place in the past. It's nice, no complaints on quality, but for the basic cafe at the rear, it's too pricey. The prices are in the menu, so it's my own fault for just waking in and ordering without thinking it through. £8.95 is expensive for a cheese toastie, then an extra £1.75 to add some tomato is too much. Cup of tea and an empire was £7.25 and soft drinks £3.50 a can. I get that everywhere is expensive now, but was just a bit too far for me.

I've been previously and really loved the club sandwich. Drinks and coffees are always great. Lovely staff, too. During the most recent visit, I was shocked that it is £12 for a sandwich, and the bread seems straight off the supermarket shelf. You'd expect not to get bread straight from a packet when paying those prices. We got the steak and fish finger sandwich. Fish finger one was alright, but the steak one I couldn't even bite into, it was so well done that I needed to use a knife to cut into it, was not good.

Food was great I got the haggis Benedict. The drink was great. I got the Laird’s bloody gin. Service was great and what an amazing view.

Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at the laird’s table. Had eggs Benedict one with bacon and the other with haggis, both delicious. Really liked that they were on waffles. Enjoyed the twist on the laird’s blood gin. Also loved the decor and view of the lake. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely return!
