This is a top floor restaurant looking over Ayr at Ayr college ran by the hotel and catering staff who did an incredible job today in every aspect Food was amazing and so were the staff. They even surprised my 91 year old mum on her birthday at the end. A lovely day and definitely THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY IN AYR!

Our first visit to Westerley. The quality and presentation of the food was of a high standard, as was the customer service. Good choice of menu, including fish, meat and vegetarian options. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and has views over the river and town. Prices are great value compared to commercial restaurants. Allow plenty of time for a meal because the students are learning as they prepare the food and serve you - it's worth it for the quality of food and for the opportunity to help young people prepare for their careers.

My husband and I discovered this gem of a restaurant whilst out for a run during the sunny weather of last week. We were unaware of the early bird dining between 3-4pm and went in at 3.50.pm. The restaurant was quite busy but we were seated immediately by very pleasant waiting staff. Whilst waiting for drinks we perused the menu which had a vast array of choices and included pork, chicken, fish and beef as well as daily specials for the amazing price of £24.95 for two courses or £28.95 for three. When the food arrived it was well presented, and extremely tasty. I chose the grenadine sliced pear and prawns Marie Rose salad to start, and my husband had the smoked salmon and prawns both of which were excellent. For mains we had the chicken breast in a creamy mushroom sauce and the braised beef in a red wine sauce. Both were delicious and came with steamed mixed veg and boiled potatoes and a separate helping of chips. We were quite full after that but my husband asked if he could take a profiterole dessert with us and the staff were only too happy to organise this. The bill was very reasonable and we left the restaurant knowing we would definitely be returning in the near future. 5 stars all round.
