We love to pop into the Lamlash Bay hotel for dinner! The whole team is always so accommodating, it's never any issue booking a table for when we want and the new kids menu is a winner! The make your own pizza option always wins with our little one (and us adults too) and when we visited last week our lovely waitress who's name I've yet to catch (blonde) caught onto my little ones name and was calling her by name for the rest of the night. We love the chef's specials menu and it's always so evident that the menu really focuses on keeping dishes as local as possible. The Arran Gold and Raspberry Crème Brûlée is amazing!

Popped in on the off chance they had availability for 7 adults and 1 child at the end of their lunchtime, was pleasantly surprised to find they could accommodate us. Both menu and meal were executed to perfection and having been to the island multiple times a year for the last 20, can not believe I have never been here. Can’t wait to go here again, staff polite friendly and entertaining and food fantastic, was a bit skeptics when I saw the prices, but when I saw the food the prices if anything were cheaper for the quality and quantity you receive.

Loved this place and the people, and the food was amazing. We're very hard-to-please with 2 GF people and 1 GF + DF person, and we still had amazing dishes including a great GF Fish & Chips and fantastic Cullen Skink (similar to clam chowder, but way better, with smoked haddock). Warm and comfortable atmosphere in the pub/bar area. Nice views of the water in the quiet and elegant dining room. The people in charge of the food here really give a damn and it shows and it's so appreciated. We would return to the area just to eat here. But the area is also lovely.

We had a great dinner experience in the Lamlash Bay Hotel Restaurant. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and the dinners were delicious. The wide offering of beverages and delicious deserts complimented the meals, and the wait staff, Kyle and Fern, made the experience a delight. We highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel accomadations. Tom, Shirley, Tony

Absolutely amazing. We were here a year ago and loved it so much we returned this year. Clean, friendly, staff are lovely and welcoming, views from the restaurant overlook the bay and is stunning. The food is to die for, not the cheapest place to eat but I don’t mind as it’s a treat for us. Kids love it there too. I had the chicken supreme (not the chicken supreme you’d expect in England) which was a slight change up version of the balmoral chicken (which I had last year and was THE best I’ve ever had!!) kids had pizza and my friend had the sea bass. All went down a treat. I just love this place. Our waiting staff were Auld Isla, Ashley and Wee Young Isla and all three were so lovely.

Stayed at this hotel and eaten in it many times, was my favourite place for dinner so decided to have dinner with friends again, how disappointing! I ordered the sea bass, been on the menu for a while now and it’s my favourite dish, it was over cooked and dry. My friend ordered the burger, had to send it back as it was hard and burned (begs the question as to why the chef would send it out in the first place). We were a party of 4, so the rest of us had finished our food when my friends newly cooked burger arrived, ruined the evening, shame as the food used to be fab, maybe it’s a different chef as I believe it’s new owners.

We had dinner on a Monday evening. The menu was interesting, with some choice for all diets. We chose mains - fish and chips and the vegetarian burger. Both were generous portions, freshly prepared and tasty. We would have had a dessert but despite being promised the menu, it never arrived. The restaurant was busy so maybe could have done with more staff.

I had the most comfortable 3 night stay. The staff were welcoming. Great hospitality. The room had all the usual suspects and the tea/coffee tray had more extras. (I won't say, it will spoil the surprise). The shower and wash facilities had 'Arran Sense of Scotland' toiletries which were a touch of luxury. Reminded me to buy some before leaving the island. Breakfast was pre-ordered to avoid food waste and the cooked food was delicious. I didn't have the chance to eat at night this trip but the meals are always good. I had a back room on the top floor. As I knew its location, I had taken ear plugs because the noise from the cooling fans from the small Co-op supermarket would annoy most guests. Note to hotel: maybe supply earplugs in the bedside cabinets.

We were a little early and our table wasn't ready but we were warmly welcomed and made comfortable in the bar while we waited, bar staff were friendly and we were soon shown through to the restaurant. Went for dinner here. The girl who took our booking noticed that my daughter wanted her wee toy chicken to come and when we turned up she had set up a little place setting at the table for him with his name on and tiny little plastic cutlery set out. Such a small gesture that felt really fun and special for our daughter, it’s important for kids to feel seen and heard. All staff were so relaxed and friendly and the food was delicious. Beautiful views over to the Holy Isle. Just a lovely warm welcoming place with great food and atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the person who booked us in and looked after us, I didn’t take your name but you’ll know who you are, thank you for being such a lovely human being :)

We selected the early bird menu upon arrival. Upon arrival despite giving our name twice the penny didn’t seem to drop that we had a reservation and we were referred to as the incorrect name twice. No biggie just if you are charging more than the Auchrannie for dinner with half the service capability you might want to get that right. The American gentleman who served us was lovely - I want to be clear on that, I am not referring to him when I mention bad attitude. When receiving the bill (after 15 minutes of waiting on the table being cleared or anything else being offered) I went and asked for this myself. I questioned nicely why we were being charged for the Early Bird menu at 20 pounds when we didn’t have a dessert. The waitress took it off but then charged us for the naans which made the bill more. I felt if the bill structure had been explained to us we wouldn’t have questioned it and she was unnecessarily being a little bit smart about it. If she had explained that obviously we wouldn’t have asked for it to be removed. A simple explanation would have saved that. We weren’t trying to be smart - like every family we are on a budget and just wondered. It also cost a tip (I put a tenner down then took it back, because it isn’t just her that can be smart) and this review so I hope it made her feel good. Also incredibly short sighted as we won’t be back and we are in Arran a lot with extended family and friend. Again, if you are charging more than the Auchrannie for dinner you might need to look at the professionalism of some of your staff. If you are paying 90 quid for 3 people at 1 course and a couple of glasses of wine then they shouldn’t need to wait 15 minutes for their table to be cleared and go up and ask for their own bill.

We received a friendly welcome on arrival at this lovely bistro, situated right on the sea front. There was a nice choice of drinks, specials on starter, main and dessert as well as the main menu. We ordered the chicken Indian curry that had loads of meat in it, served with rice and naan bread. I ordered the signature dish of seabass and prawns, served on crushed potatoes, broccoli and a leek sauce. Absolutely delicious!

We dined in the bar/ restaurant January 2024. After a long hike up Goatfell mountain we were in desperate need of a hearty meal and some local hospitality and Lamlash Bay Hotel was the perfect choice. The bar where we decided to eat as opposed to in the restaurant was extremely welcoming, both in terms of the locals and staff as well as the cosy ambience. There was an array of regional drinks and the menu offered home cooking from local produce. We both had the seabass main which was one of the best seafood dishes we have ever eaten, and throughly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding for desert. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and warm. Due to the quality of the food as well as the service we feel the restaurant is excellent value for money. We highly recommend the Lamlash Bay Hotel for a relaxing drink or meal. We haven’t reviewed the hotel itself as we did not stay there.

Genuinely can't fault anything here. Stayed here for work and can't believe how lucky we got. Spotless and decent rooms, amazing food (easily one of, if not the best pizza I've had), beyond friendly and helpful staff, they make every part of the stay so much more enjoyable (locals too actually, everyone is insanely friendly). We absolutely loved this place, chosen on a whim. Small cosy room I'm the attic part but with an amazing view of Holy Isle. Bed was a tad small for us as we usually share a king size, and this was a double, but being married nearly 30 years, it didn't matter. Staff were ultra friendly in the bar and restaurant, and Isla, the lady who greeted us, was very nice. The bar area was really well appointed with pictured cushions and tasteful artwork and sculptures, including a Cockerell that I nearly took out with a careless swipe of my hand on our last night. The food was superb, I had pork and seaweed sausages one night and pulled barbecue pork pizza the next. My wife had Seabass and prawns on the first night, and Blade of Beef the next both great. All in all, a nice establishment, and we will be back.

At the very last minute and because of circumstances beyond our control we were unable to take up our booking at the Lamlash Bay Hotel. This proved to be at a time when the Arran ferry had been cancelled and the hotel was obviously under extreme pressure. We were met with the utmost courtesy and received a call from the hotel to say our booked room had been taken by someone else and they would refund us the cost. These sort of honest business practices are commendable and as regular visitors to Arran we look forward to a visit to the Lamlash Bay Hotel next year.

I stayed here in September with my husband and our dog. We were in the Family Suite with two bedrooms and a small kitchen area. The accommodation was perfect for our needs as it has it's own entrance meaning we didn't need to take our wet dog through the hotel. The hotel sits right opposite the beach and has fabulous views. There was no housekeeping during our stay due to Covid restrictions but on arrival the accommodation was spotlessly clean and had all the towels we needed with a fantastic shower and lovely Arran Aromatics products. The staff are friendly and helpful but like all of the island at the moment they're suffering staff shortages. The food was well cooked and the service excellent but the menu is rather unexciting.

We ordered a takeaway, a fairly simple order of 3 Burgers, Chips and Salad. We were told there would be a 35 minute wait and then they would call / WhatsApp us when ready. We went to the local pub to kill a bit of time, no call after 40 minutes, no call after 50 minutes, so we waited until an hour was up and took a walk back. Funnily enough the order was there waiting for us and by the time we got it back (5 min walk), it was cold.. On getting back we realised there was no chips or salad. So I went back to the restaurant and mentioned this, not long after they came back out with a bag of the forgotten items. On getting back again, I looked and there was no salad.! So I went back…again and asked if they had also forgot the salad. The lady said with a bit of an attitude “salads on the burger”. Apparently the singular spinach leaf and thin slice of tomato on the burger is the ‘salad’! Even though the menu listing was, ‘Chicken burger, chips + salad’. The onion rings were anemic and extremely greasy, the chips looked like oven chips. The burger itself was actually ok but doesn’t make up for the rest of the ordeal! No apologies or refund offered.

The family run Lamlash Bay hotel is apply named as it is located in the heart of lamlash overlooking the bay of lamlash towards holy isle. The lamlash bay offers an excellent menu that isn't over complicated and focuses on quality and freshness every dish a delight. A great selection of dishes are available catering to all food requirements and choices and they have introduced a delightful vegan burger which I haven't tried my self but I am told is absolutely a must-try. A stay at the lamlash bay is equily a must. Most rooms offer a delightful view of the bay, are very spacious and are decorated in a contemporary and modern style with we'll thought out soft furnishings making a very warm and comfortable stay. A stay wouldn't be the same without a hearty breakfast and the lamlash bay offers just that. With a selection of fresh fruits and cereals and also includes a hot breakfast to your liking. Not to mention your never out of coffee or tea. If you happen to be missing to catch an early breakfast a packed lunch can be prepared and supplied. The hotel has a delightful bar and newly added outdoor area to the front of the hotel which has over headcover. All covid guidelines are followed by all of the staff and plenty of hand sanitizer is available. If your looking for a central location to set off from and stay in style with a view then a stay at the Lamlash Bay Hotel is for you. You get a hell of a lot for your money at this hotel as well as first-class service.

May 2021. Had a very comfortable couple of nights at the Lamlash Bay Hotel, room at the front with a balcony with views to die for over the green to Holy Isle. Staff were amazing and extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is mainly dog friendly (huge bonus for me). Left a 4 star review and would've been 5 but felt it was a bit overpriced for what it was and compared to other island hotels. Great location with its own restaurant and bar, co-op next door and a selection of bars/restaurants within easy walking distance. Overall a very enjoyable stay and a huge thanks to the staff.

Nice hotel in excellent location, food superb, staff attentive, shower room could do with being redesigned to give a bigger shower but all in all a nice place to stay.

They serve the most delicious Calzone pizza, which is a fairly large meal, however I did manage to polish it off.

Stayed here for work during the zombie apocalypse we're all living through, excellent food and friendly attentive staff, I would definitely visit again if it wasn't for the ferry, 32 years since I'd been on a ferry, and hopefully I'll never have to endure a ferry again. If your constitution is stouter than mine, by all means stay here, great wee hotel.

Superb take away and super friendly staff. We didn’t get the opportunity to have a meal in the restaurant due to COVID restrictions, but we ordered take away twice. Both times superb. Fish and chips were lovely. The pizza was one of the best. And so friendly with it.

A small but excellent choice of dishes, probably because of the Covid situation. Everything brought hot to the table. Dining room can be a little noisy at times, but generally the atmosphere was very pleasant. Nice wine, too! Staff friendly and very helpful. A nice experience overall.

The Hotel has gone to great lengths to provide a wonderful service in the midst of Co-vid. It enjoys a fantastic location with a stunning view over the bay. The staff could not have been more accommodating and were really friendly, generous and helpful. I had the sea bass and Belgian waffle for pudding both of which were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Given the quality, it was very reasonably priced. A lovely, memorable evening. Many thanks to all the team at the Hotel. I will definitely be back.

Went for lunch at The View mid afternoon on a friday. Very quiet but it was 3pm. We were feeling a bit scruffy after a long walk on the beach but were made welcome. Food was very fresh, simple but of high quality and delicious. Prices very reasonable. Recommend.
