Love the Carrick foods always amazing

The Carrick is a Green King pub on the High Street Irvine. Nice pub, the atmosphere was good inside. I ordered food and drink from a set lunch menu. With most set menus, the drinks you actually want come at an extra cost. Staff were friendly and helpful, with no issues there. Service was quick, only ten minutes from order. I had a chicken wrap, and Liz had the vegetarian wrap. Both came with chips and were very tasty and filling. I used the facilities, one cubicle had no toilet seat, second, no lock on the door, thankfully third rome lucky, only three cubicles!! Apart from that, it is a very nice pub, a lovely atmosphere, food service ,friendly staff and definitely with a visit.

Me and my son were just banned from this restaurant. I was having a private meal and conversation with my son when a jockey on the TV fell. I laughed a little bit, then this woman behind me started an argument and then lifted her fist to punch me. She didn't do it, because her daughter said "No, Mum. Don't." The staff came over and....get this guy's....they banned ME and my son.... .....unbelievable. Obviously, I will never be going back. Police were involved....and they tried to short-change me, too.🙄 (Elderly woman outside heard me talking with my son. She said "That doesn't surprise me. They banned me because I politely asked "excuse me, madam, but why did you serve that gentleman before me?"....word for word. ) Very abusive staff. Trust me, guys, you do NOT want to go anywhere near this place. And to the Carrick restaurant staff. I would very much appreciate it if you DON'T REPLY to this review. If you do, I will take it as harassment, contact the police and charge you accordingly. Thank you.

Great food, great staff, great prices, great beer garden, dog friendly. Couldn't recommend more.

We frequently have lunch in the Carrick as staff are really friendly Today was to celebrate our granddaughters 2nd birthday the food we had ordered was brilliant and staff were excellent Some excellent sharing dishes and plenty of deals

Old historic place so toilets are way up the stairs. Lovely boothes to sit in & a choice of window seating A comfortable place to walk into as everyone chats to you. Staff friendly but not overbearing. Good food with special offers on. I recommend their burgers. Wee pool table& small outdoor area for those who need it. Easy to get to on the bus route & on street parking plus disabled parking.

Being from South Australia and having seen the historical ship which is located in the Adelaide Maritime museum, that this pub is named after is really strange. So we had to try it, in saying that, the food was very good value and the service was great.

Excellent bar staff and the best steak pie in Irvine.

In for Sunday roast. Only beef available, no mustard or horse radish available. Scanned the code on table for a free clean-Co cocktail, got the code and barmaid wouldn't accept it?. Meal was OK, potatoes nice n hot, rest of meal was just warm.

£20.48 for a bottle of wine. Experience when you can get the same bottle for less than £10 elsewhere

The Carrick exceeded expectations with its outstanding food and warm service. The fish and chips was an absolute delight, and the sex on the beach perfectly complemented the meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience all the more enjoyable. The cozy ambiance made it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Highly recommend!

After a few years of not going here after a bad experience, my Fiance, mother in law gave them another opportunity yesterday and went for lunch for my Fiancé's birthday. What a great experience! The food was excellent! Service was second to none! Great atmosphere too. The staff were very attentive. So glad we gave them a second chance. We will certainly be back

After a previous bad experience, my partner and I went for lunch with my future Mother in law on 11th December, the meals were first class, staff were very courteous, friendly and helpful, the bar and restaurant were spotless, the only one slight criticism was that the pool table in the restaurant has been moved from the back of the establishment to neater the front which is quite off putting when trying to have a quiet meal and conversation with people

Brilliant food and fast service. Morgan was especially excellent and was really good with the kids when serving at the table. 5 minutes tops for waiting for excellent grub. Highly recommended

Popped in to the carrick for lunch yesterday food was lovely and could not fault the service given from the new girl Emma. She was personable and really took the time to make sure we had everything we needed. Will absolutely be back.

I come here regularly - never had a bad meal. Portions are generous, hearty and the price is excellent value. The staff are always impeccable from the service to the conversation - I always feel comfortable and welcome. A hidden gem in Irvine for sure! Would highly recommend!

Popped in with 7 family members after a day Christmas shopping. We are staying locally in an hotel for a small break from Glasgow. This bar was extremely welcoming, cosy and spotlessly clean. We initially just wanted a drink, however the menu was too inviting and we ordered some small plates, which were great value and varied. The draught is superb, and as I write this I've just ordered another pint of Madri. We were attentively served by Emma and Lee, they were so friendly and brilliant at their job. We can't wait to come back again, we visit Irvine regularly and will definitely make this a stop every time from now on. Top class service, great food, lovely atmosphere. Easy on the wallet too after spending way too much on gifts. What more do you need on a cold winter night? Thoroughly recommend.

Neve was attentive and friendly both at the bar and whilst serving our meal. We both had a Sunday roast which was tasty and plentiful. Pub was quiet.

Spent over £50 on 3 meals and was atrocious. Chips were freezing on one meal, batter on fish had a horrible taste to it, chips on another were brick solid from being over cooked and cola had a chlorine taste to it

In here a few times for some food or just a drink but today lunch and some Prosecco, nice and friendly approachable staff , staff always chatty and if need anything they always on hand

Bill came to over £50 for 3 people and food was terrible chips cold on one meal and over cooked on another, cola had a chlorine taste to it and batter on fish had a horrible taste to it

Visited the carrick for lunch with family and tried the new texan smoky bbq and bacon mac-stack burger definitely recommend this if you haven't tried was really tasty

We come quite often to the Carrick as a group of 4, as my friends husband has dementia it is a calmer and more cosier place for him to settle and not too noisy.We were served by Shelley who as always is very courteous and efficient,we shall continue to come to the Carrick, it's a nice day out for us oldies.

Visit the Carrick often always a nice friendly atmosphere, bar staff are always presented well and very accomodating, Lee the bar person was very helpful my last visit

This place is very basic. It's disorganised. Staff very unhelpful. Disabled toilet out of action, so elderly people really struggling to climb dozens of stairs to use the toilet. Loads of dirty plates, glasses etc lying around. The food was OK, no real issues with that. Looks like it needs new management.

Was in Saturday afternoon, football/sport on all the tvs, food was great and was really quick service

I've been in more than once. Service was quick with the app and without it. Always checked on to make sure everything is ok. The food is great too, amazing for a breakfast. Or if your in for a pint side snacks are class.

It's my regular pub. I find the staff all polite and friendly. Good atmosphere, Meals are very good, quickly cooked and comes to your table, still hot. Best pub in the town.

Love coming to the carrick the girls are so lovely always have time to chat and check in with me and my partner place is looking really good with every alteration made to give it that bit of tlc and the food is the best in irvine love coming here and can't wait to see what's to come with the managers personal touch

Hadn’t been here before so thought we would give it a try and thankful we did, the staff were so friendly and welcoming had a beer garden just at the back which is specious a lovely area to relax and have a drink. FYI our group was a group of five when we ordered our food it arrived almost at the same time hot and delicious, couldn’t fault our experience. Already made reservations for our next visit later in the month 🍷🍔

Friend and I, and our children had popped in here for lunch. Staff at bar were lovely and friendly. The disappointment was that both mums ordered dishes including salad, but we were informed they had run out of lettice, so we asked for more tomato, onion and cucumber- to be told these items were running low! We went up to order the children’s desserts- fruot kebabs, churros and ice cream- again, had run out of things and was told only ice cream and brownie were in stock. Definitely wont be back. Very poor to be running out of ingredients and that many dishes- poor stock management!

Advertising the Euros. Majority of TVs not showing the Euro's. Asked if they could change the channel. First answer was you can change your seat to be near a TV showing the channels. Not the best answer. Next answer was we can't change the channels as they are all set up and cannot be changed. Very hard to believe. Perhaps the majority of the TVs should be set up for what is advertised I won't be back. It didnhelp that there were wild children running around the place. Modern parenting at it's best.

Great staff and food as well go every Sat morning with about 18 to 20 people. Vets breakfast club.

Great place for a late night drink and bite to eat. Always a nice relaxed atmosphere with good music and fantastic service from the staff who are always up for a laugh. Looking forward to attending the open mic nights and will definitely be indulging in the burger deal and a few drinks. We were last at the beginning of the week for a meal and the standard never slips in terms of service from the staff and the quality of the food, great range of food and always something to please everyone at the table

The Carrick location is ideal for me when I go out in Irvine for a drink and food but ordering on the app has caused issues sometimes it's missed and I end up waiting far too long .The food quality went downhill and the cost of mixers for drinks when there's a spoon 5 mins away I would rather walk an extra few minutes to avoid getting charged extra and wait longer.

Quite a tasty lunch however the vegetables broccoli of all things should not be microwaved that badly!

The food is great with fine draft beers and ciders 👍 Service is quick and authentically Scottish 👍

Very disappointing atmosphere with passive aggressive employees. In addition advertised as a family family then places an age limit of 18 years on the likes of a pool table. No signs or explanation given just a very unfriendly staff member stating the rules. Can greene king or anyone involved explain why the over 18s rule is in place in what is advertised as a family environment? Not a good place to go if visiting as a family, plenty better choices in Irvine center.

Been here a couple times. Foods okay. Went again today just for a meal with my wife & son. Got asked to leave because I had a black hoody with a football badge on it, staff saying “we don’t accept football here” when their website says they show sky sports, TNT sports & football, football was on in the corner, not even the teams I had on. As someone who collects football tops, I wear them on most days. Won’t be returning. Will go elsewhere.

All the female staff in the Carrick are brand new in my opinion can't fault them in any way kitchen staff always take time out of the day to check in see how regulars are. Pub has a great atmosphere the job the girls are doing is great on the decor. Only fault I can pick on is why do the fans need to be on when it not hot or busy

They had no fish or coffee wich is what my mother went in for. She got lasagne wich was overcooked and I had macaroni wich was bland. Would not recommend

I have issues with cutlery. They make wraps I can hold in my hands. Staff always pleasant. I have amended my review because I have now been on a Sunday for several weeks and had a roast. It is worth the extra effort to use cutlery for me to get a Sunday roast. They have converted me. Cooked carrots (historically) I've always been my least favorite veg and the chef at the Carrick has converted me First rate all round

Excellent food and reasonable prices. Great selection of drinks. Toilets are upstairs but there is a disabled one on ground level.

Nice atmosphere. I wasn't keen on the tacos but apart from that everything else was good.
