The Bistro in South Ayrshire

A France meets Ayr night at The Bistro-gorgeous cocktails;interesting menu- onion soup,duck,bourguignon and fish were beautifully cooked; service was,as always,immaculate. Thanks to the whole team for a really lovely evening- looking forward to the next one.

The prawn starter was very good. The mussels and lamb entrees were both excellent. The Bistro is small and quaint. Our server, was preoccupied with other tables and we frequent asked for more water. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

We had a delicious Easter Sunday meal here. We ordered the mussels to start (as the wood pigeon was off the menu) followed by seafood spaghetti and the slow-braised lamb. Food was very good and the service was perfectly fine.

Great wee place for a spot of lunch, soup & sandwich or full blown meal. Today I opted for the soup and sandwich whip was really good. Lamb, vegetable & broth soup was very tasty and pipping hot which was just as well as it was very cold outside. The club sandwich was very enjoyable and plentiful. I had it open although I wasn’t recommended to do this but I do like an open sandwich. Will recommend to friends and shall return in the near future to try something different. - or maybe just have the same as it was so nice.

A fantastic restaurant in the centre of Ayr - Great staff and a superb menu - mussels in a lovely white sauce followed by seafood pasta - and a large glass of house red. Nice atmosphere - great service - I would highly recommend this restaurant !!

Birthday treat for my husband , I had the delicious pork special of the day followed by sticky toffee pudding , delicious , my husband had 3 courses Cullen skink , burger and finished with a cheese board , this is my second visit , first was for lunch , definitely a neighbourhood gem and will be back

We have just visited for the first time and had one of the best Sunday roasts ever! £45 for two roast beef including a bottle of Pinot Grigio was good value but also so delicious. Would recommend it highly!

Admittedly, I am a regular visitor to the bistro but I’m never disappointed. So I took along my gran and a friend for some lunch. Both of which had never been before and they thoroughly enjoyed! Caitlyn and Jordan were fantastic, top class service! The food was delicious as always! We all had The Bistro Club Sandwich and it was just the best! I can honestly recommend this place so much to anyone thinking about paying it a visit everything about it is chilled which is always nice! and highly recommend giving The Bistro Club sandwich a go! Ps - I’m sure the two newbies be back!

We visited for Saturday lunch. It was our first visit. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the decor is appealing. We were served by very friendly waiting staff. Nothing was any trouble. All our food impressed in equal measure, from the oysters to the mussels to all three mains. The Cullen skink in particular was delicious, with lots of plump haddock. We will definitely return when we are next in Ayr.

Had lunch and dinner here on recent visit to Ayr. Absolute gem of a place from decor to staff to food. Will definitely be back on a return trip to the area.

What can I say....This place is amazing! The ambience, decor and best of all......The food! Lots of local produce cooked to perfection. Fantastic selection of wines and spirits. With ale and lager on tap. Will definitely be back very soon. Thank you

I visited recently with my family and we had an amazing meal! My dad and brother both ordered the beef Sunday roast, which was cooked to perfection. I had the spiced duck, and it was absolutely delicious! For dessert, we shared the spiced banana bread, sticky toffee pudding, and the winter spiced gyoza. We loved every bite, and it was the perfect way to finish our meal! The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We've already booked to come back.

This is an absolute gem of a place !! Our favourite restaurant! Food is always cooked to perfection . The staff are so friendly and always checking on you to make sure everything is ok . For the quality of the food the price is also amazing . Would highly recommend.
