The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in England

Came here for a colleagues leaving do and was so impressed with the food. The pizza is REAL pizza (capable of putting a frozen box pizza to complete shame twice over) and left me stuffed. Really good drinks menu too - my group loved the raspberry and elderflower cider! We also benefited from NHS discount as we work at the hospital and all in all were so happy with everything. Staff were super cool - really awesome placen Will definitely return with friends and family!

WOW - we booked in for a meal, and was not expecting what we got. We ordered the "2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £35". It was the most delicious steak meal either of us has ever had - cooked perfectly, and the peppercorn sauce and extras on the plate absolutely delicious. We followed with a sticky toffee pudding - BEST EVER. So obviously home made. The service was excellent and friendly. We are so disappointed that we are only in the area for a week. Thank you White Hart - we haven't stopped raving about you since - much to the annoyance of our family and friends :). See you again.

Ordered food via delivery, asked to cancel 5 minutes after the order and a man answered with awful customer service literally no manners. Said we should expect a refund in 3-6 working days, no refund came through and no food arrived.

Had coffee, music is way too loud inside and they charge gratuity without asking, not cool

I traveled from outside London specifically to try these chips, and I have to say I was very disappointed. The chips were undercooked, so I went back to complain. The man just took the chips off my hands and dumped them back in to be fried again, but they came out burnt this time. When I told him that wasn’t okay, he just gave me a thumbs up and walked away. I definitely won’t be coming back.

Delicious food and really lovely service. The meal size is also great. Florentina is a great host

We really like this pub and always eat here when in the area. We are here last night and as always the food was excellent. We had Vegan Meatballs and Halloumi chips to start, both yummy. Followed by Halloumi and chips for my husband and Cod and chips for myself. Both very good. Very filling too. Our server who I think was called Melissa was really nice and so good at her job. An excellent communicator. I cannot recommend this pub highly enough.

since two pound increase in minimum wages they lowered volume of food serverd in kebabs and did not say anything about it. competition is so low in plymouth the able to do that

Vine aquí con amigos para el (lo que pensé) era un almuerzo de domingo altamente calificado. Estaba muy, muy decepcionado. Mi marido y amigo eligen el almuerzo de domingo de 3 carnes y los tamaños de las porciones de la carne estaban bordeando el ridículo que era literalmente una pieza muy pequeña de cada carne. También pedimos un pudín extra Yorkshire y nos dimos cuenta de que habían cobrado £ 5 por ello! En general fue un almuerzo de domingo decepcionante y caro, lo cual es una pena ya que cuando hemos visitado aquí durante la semana la comida siempre ha sido genial, pero en base a esta visita no volveremos con prisa desafortunadamente.

Great food at great prices ,always served piping hot

We have had a fantastic stay and dining experience at the Hawkenbury. Staff are friendly and chatty. The breakfasts are great. Loved the variety in the continual breakfast. The cooked breakfast was also superb. We dined in the restaurant on the first day of the new Summer menu. The new menu was the best pub menu we’ve seen in our 5 weeks travelling around the UK. Pub favourites plus some interesting other options. Reasonable prices too. My husband was thrilled to see mussels on the menu, and it was a generous serve. My pasta dish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Overall the food is fresh and tasty and is obviously made with quality ingredients. The service is fast and friendly. One of the best things is the Inn’s cat, who is happy to be petted at all times.

Why is it that dog owners find it difficult to understand that all people should like dogs I for one don't want dogs in a pub or restaurant where I am eating Steve j

Este solía ser uno de los favoritos de la familia, pero la experiencia de anoche fue decepcionante. El servicio era increíblemente lento y amateur y la comida pobre. Tenía los puerros en queso ahumado con nueces como entrada, el plato venía rayado de cebra con vinagre balsámico lo que significaba que no había posibilidad de probar el queso. Había pocas nueces, pero muchos fragmentos duros en el interior de la cáscara de nuez. Los puerros estaban cocidos pero fríos e increíblemente duros y tiesos, en general desagradables. Mi siguiente plato fueron los garbanzos con acelgas arcoíris, me habían informado media hora después de pedirlo que no tenían el gurnard anunciado. La acelga era como el puerro, fría, dura y cuerda y los garbanzos eran solo una masa de baba húmeda con sabor vagamente a pimentón.

After being our go-to restaurant for family get-togethers for about 25 yrs, we are sorry that Alphonso is retiring and moving back to Puglia. We will miss you. On Sunday lunchtime the restaurant was packed with friends and family to say goodbye to a well-loved institution. We hope that the new owners will continue your tradition for high quality and good value when they open in November.
