Much better experience than we had with the chain coffee shop a few doors up. Staff were friendly and engaged in conversations with all the customers that entered. Lots of flavours available for your drinks. Nice hot chocolate at a good temperature. Friendly and inviting shop can't wait for them to move in to bigger premises and offer more.
The seafood shack now accommodates for non seafood lovers by offering freshly cooked baguettes with a choice of filling
ā¢carved ham
ā¢cheese
ā¢chicken mayonnaise.
These need to be pre ordered by 11am on the day or phone up during the week to get your order in ready for the weekend!
This is an old style pub and can be a bit noisy in the main bar. The restaurant part, in what is confusingly called the smoking room, is much quieter.
The food - we ate a massive mixed grill - was plentiful and tasty. The service time was reasonable. The price, £32 each, is normal for a meal including steak.
My only complaint would be the attitude of a member of staff. We arrived at 6.50 for a 7 pm appointment, only to be told that a member of staff would 'lead us ro our table' at 7. She also assumed that we would know where the restaurant was, even though we had never been in there before. She also seemed to take great pleasure in telling us that they were 'fully booked', even though I had booked. Once we ordered the most expensive item on the menu, her attitude changed.
Because of the member of staff's attitude I have awarded the pub 4 stars instead of 5
We came to this little cafe in the heart of Britain as we had heard the food was delightful and the village was lovely. 100% accurate on both counts. Chef Carlos has a great imagination and it shows in the special sandwiches and desserts served. The sandwich I had was a chicken, ham, and avocado with garlic mayo on toasted white bread. My wife had the butternut squash falafel wrap with whipped feta and pickled beets. Chef's lovely wife Nicole extends charm and grace taking orders and dishing friendly conversation. We finished our meal with a slice of lemon icebox pie with a crust of ground digestives. It was light and delicate with a delicious taste. We walked around the village loving the smiles and friendly greetings of the village folk. Walking along the banks of the Tyne is beautiful and we visited the sites of Vindolanda and the Roman Army Fort along Hadrian's Wall. The museums are well curated and the sense of historical awe was powerful. This visit was a highlight of our trip to England from California.
Visited this morning for breakfast with my mum and had lovely breakfast-large choice -very friendly service -great food in lovely local restaurant-would definitely recommend and would like to go back to sample evening menu
What a fantastic cafe, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food is delicious! Dog friendly with even little treats given to our little anxious pooch to help her settle. We stopped off whilst visiting Ilkley for a all day breakfast and weren't disappointed by the very yummy fully monty breakfast!
The best seafood Iāve ever had in Lyme Regis - including Mark Hicks! Brilliant, charming, knowledgeable service and atmosphere and the food was so good we came back the next night!! These two young talented people deserve their own restaurant NOW!! ā¤ļø

This was our first time using Yolanda's, and I have to say it's going to be a regular thing! The food is fresh, tasty and very good value for money. The homemade guacamole is excellent. Thanks!
