Friendly and busy restaurant in the heart of Little Portugal, Stockwell. Big portions of well cooked Portuguese food, cheap but quality wine, attentive staff and good value all round. Fish stew massive and excellent. Two big screens distract the locals who burst into excited cheers when Benfica or Sporting Lisbon score.

Not an excessively large venue, however sufficient seating is offered in both front & back rooms. Very friendly staff; the venue exudes a cheerful vibe/ambience; there are also a couple of strategically placed big screens reporting on news/football games. Accommodating to families, couples & singletons alike. The menu offers a good choice of wonderful, wholesome, tasty food – and large portions to boot at very reasonable prices! We both had a large bowl of vegetable soup for starters (a very good choice at that), followed by a main dish - Bacalhau à Brás - to share. We ended up with a doggie bag for our left-overs – and no room for dessert! So, I ended up buying a few Pasteis de Nata custard tarts to take away (and ate afterwards) – as you really can’t beat this traditional Portuguese pastry!

The place is so authentic that once you step in, you forget you are in England. You hear Portuguese as most customer and the whole staff are from there; the TVs are always playing football matches, people are loud and one of the waitress speaks little English. If you can accept this, be prepared to be rewarded with some of the best seafood and fish you can get in London for an unbelievably cheap price! I eat here once a month. Be warned: the portions are huge; order little and then, in case, order more.

The food was great- we ordered a variety of starter dishes. Everything was excellent, and the staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend if you want to try authentic Portuguese food.
