City Kebab in Cambridge

I ordered a large chips, which was clearly clearly a small chips. Rather disappointed, never had an issue before. But the size is clearly a little too short of the required and desired large.

I ordered dinner for me and my partner cost 26 pound which was delivered half an hour late, the chips were not cooked properly, both meals were cold , plus it is under new management really disappointed to be honest,won t order from there again ,

AVOID at all cost! I got really bad food poisoning from their chicken burger!!! I am still suffering from vomiting and stomach issues. Don’t waste ur money!

Place sucks. Ordered on deliveroo (which has no tracking), and they never called me so I never got my order. £17 lost.

Got an order off just eat at 11pm, arrival time was 11:45-12:15 and waited till 1am because it was delayed its now 3:36 and no order came

The guy on the phone boasted about having more 'extras' where that came from and suggested settling the score behind the bins. Classy move, City Kebab – turning complaints into back-alley brawls. If you're seeking a dining experience with a side of fisticuffs, this is the place. Just be prepared to fight for your right to a decent meal, preferably far from the bins. Bon appétit.

Small kebab really was small, very little kebab meat in a small pitta. Reasonable quality but £12 makes it vastly overpriced.

Fish was dry and rubbery charged £12 for this is disgusting I'd rather eat gravel. Called to complain and all the chef said he cooked it himself and there was nothing wrong. Started giving me attitude because I was complaining. Avoid and at all costs

cod is burnt and crusty, onion rings are soggy, chicken nuggets undercooked and chicken wings that you need power jaws to eat

This place is a joke, food is horrible, everything is extremely salty. People working there are very racist and rude, especially the younger dude at the cashier.

I ring them up to have a home delivery and the guy order me to do it on line and put the phone down. No one tells me what to do in this world. This is why now and a can I get a take away in I wood rather get my food from the shop.

warning: ask for a chicken doner wrap. specifically a wrap. significantly nicer than the normal chicken doner w/ pita. I needed a kebab and they provided it. Mashallah. Get chicken doner with extra garlic chilli sauce.

The food is always good! But the man rudely answers the phone and hangs up mid sentence. 2 times in a row. Its a shame he lets the name down as the food is great!

Havent eaten here since living here 12 years ago. Used to love it but not great im afraid. £6 for a salty nasty chicken burger and £4 cold cheesy chips. Not like it used to be. Place is definitely not how I remember

I went in here late one night, it was very busy but despite that, the service was very efficient and the guy taking the payments was chatting and even giving free samples of potatoes! Very friendly, cheap and generous portion sizes :-)

Quite possibly the worst food I have ever had. I'd complain if I didn't know that I would be told to go away. Avoid! The sad thing is that they could easily get it right with a little care.

The staff didn’t give a care. The place was really grubby. And the food gave me a really bad stomach the following day. Was I’ll for 24 hours.

Best place to get a kebab late in the night when drunk. Go for the kofte, definitely the best option. Also if they call you boss, they don’t actually think you are their boss, it’s just a term of endearment, don’t make the same mistake I did.

have been waiting now for 1hr for my order and still has not turned up on the website it would be 30mins trying to get hold of city kebab but no reply and i’m not happy

I’ve been ordering from here for a good few years now. And the people and food are lovely! Food is always on time and is always such good quality!

Zero star, if I could! Questionable food hygiene as you can see from other reviews too! No one in their right mind should eat here - the place is dead the entire day, only makes business because of very late opening times when people have no other choices at all! (And don’t even get started on how worse the customer service is, they shout back at you even about complaints of food!)

We did an online order for 2 burgers and a garlic bread pizza we missed the call from the diver I went to the door. All that was there was the garlic bread pizza on the door step. It was a very unpleasant experience and we didn't receive the rest of the order. The delivery driver eventually answered after about 20 call backs and accursed us of lying do not use this company very poor service.

The food was just okayish. The reason for 1 star is due to the delivery man being rude to me. I requested him to deliver the food at my door since it was really cold outside and he asked me if he should deliver it on my dining table and feed me as well. This was the delivery straight from restaurant and not through any food delivery system. These people who show very little respect to customers demand to be removed from their job else restaurants are going to get a bad name.

It came fast, however I asked for no onions or tomatoes since boyfriend can’t eat them. It came cold surprising aswell. Food is meh.

Definitely not recommend. We ordered for over £50, the food was on time yet, the "chicken shish kebab" only contained the pita bread, meat and sauce although the menu said it also contained salad. When called, the man who answered said there was an option to choose if you wanted salad, yet that wasnt true because it only let you choose the size, sauce and cheese. He kept shouting over me and later on my daughter, while we both talked normally, and tried to sort out the problem, while he didnt care and talked over us, ignoring what we had to say (me and my daughter).

Awful member of staff behind the counter!! Rude and speaking down to me! (No, not an ounce of alcohol consumed!) I’ve gone to City Kebab many times over the last few years and usually get a warm welcome but this was so out of the blue that it’s really caught me off guard and put me off going back. Shame.

When I come the person at the counter doesn't say hello, they force us to hurry up, he is unpleasant. When we eat, let's not even talk about it, they put 3 tons of hot sauce, the meat tasted like fish.... NEVER EAT IN THIS RESTAURANT

It's genuinely the worst kebab shop I have been to. Chicken is greasy and soggy. Kebabs extremely salty and dry. Prices not cheap either. They still have incredible business because of the location and desperate drunkards after a night out. Avoid unless you are very inebriated.

Really bad service, rang up to place an order and the person who answered couldn’t understand a thing I was saying. He then hung up whilst I was trying to place an order. I rang back and never got a answer. Food is below standard and delivery time is awful, not only that they have a tendency to mess up your order and give you something you never asked for, yet still charge you for your original order! No communication at all. STAY AWAY from here!

I have ordered from them a couple of times. Delivery time really varies, one time it was more than 40 minutes late, and you don't get tracking with your order. Donner meat was dry and there's no option for any salad (which would be nice) but the chili sauce was surprisingly nice, if not a bit dry as well. Pitta was tasty though, and overall id give it a solid ok for the price.

Ordered £22 worth of food. They showed up and charged me £26. Got in and took a bite of my pizza only to realise it was a garlic bread pizza. (I had ordered ham and cheese) called them up to explain the situation and they said they would send over my pizza. I then get a call from a different man a few minutes later saying we have someone else’s garlic bread and they will exchange it to give it to the person who ordered it. I tried to explain that I had taken a bite and there response was “why did you take a bite it’s not your pizza” then hung up and said I wasn’t getting my pizza. My pizza was £6 more than this garlic bread. Also with covid going around I don’t think the other customer would appreciate me touching their pizza in the first place.

Ridiculous! I made an order online before 2 am and it showed that the restaurants delivering the order. Now, it’s 3:25 and the order is no where and the phone number is not working at all. I’m so hungry. I’ve been waiting for so long that all the other restaurants closed. I’m not gonna use those vulgar words here, but CITY KEBAB you deserve all of them!

made an order at 2:45am on 1st of January 2022 the estimated time of delivery was 3:35am, it still had not arrived by 4:10am so we checked the order and it said enjoy your food! tried to call them and had no answer!!!!! finally the food was delivered at 4:55am but was freezing cold and was missing a burger. finally got through to them and they said they cant re-fund me but can give me half price off the next time i order. would definitely not recommend :(((((

Ordered from here a few times now and it's always a good 1+ hour late. Everytime you ring for an update you just get an abrupt "will be there soon" and they hang up. Will not be ordering from them again.

Did they lied on phone they tried to call me but i should update my number. But i got the message "my food on the way" just never came. I called after 2 hours then they said like this then they just started to ignoring me, just changed the status of the food "delivered" but not.

Please be careful what you order as we orderd a mixed meat kebabs and chips plus chicken and donner kebab the chips were mixed in with the salad and meat giving a soggy potatoe mess. Not only this the was so much little meat I complained and one the phone I was told I was a lier it was down to just eat to deal with it was them. I then got told be careful what u order as if you order it all together rather and separate it will come as one now I understand how this could be difficult for some but once we orderd our first meat mix we added the chips so shouldnt they come seperate. Would never order from this place again i ordered through uber eats and it was never delivered

I ordered from this place via deliveroo and after the status wasn't updated for an hour, I called to find out what was going on. I was told by the person who answered the phone that he was annoyed that I had called so many times (trying to get through to them) and he has a headache because people are calling in. I was then told they have no delivery driver....... I asked to cancel and get a refund but he told me he just doesn't care that I wanted to cancel and get a refund. This place did okay food but the service is just bottom of the barrel. Completely poor and not fit to be a business.

Edible, but definitely not great kebab. Uninspiring flavor and stale pita. Do yourself a favor and order a falafel wrap. It’s better than the kebab, but only just. Falafels are dry but tastes ok. If it’s late at night and your options are limited, you may as well go here 🤷‍♂️

I waited 3 and a half hours. Kept calling and they just kept telling me to “be patient”. And then had the cheek to say the order had been delivered even though UberEats clearly said “it’s on the way”. So how is that even possible. The driver was lying saying he tried to contact me. When I wasn’t contacted once. They also tried to blame their mistakes on me. And then cancelled the order and still made me pay a cancellation fee ???? When they didn’t deliver any food to me. The company shouldn’t exist. The drivers are robbing people and the managers don’t even care.

Appalling service. City Kebab' IS A DISGRACE. I've never had to make a formal complaint before but You asked for it. I made an order and it was NEVER followed through so i called up the resteraunt to see where my order went and the manager just gave me A lot of excuses shouted at me and i wanted my food but he was relying on his dodgy delivery people to do a good job witch wasen't the case. I never got an apology And i didn't get my food. YOU JUST LIKE TO MAKE MONEY OFF PEOPLE THATS HOW YOU WORK. No Shame. No repect.

I was shocked at the grease dripping out of the container through the paper. even more so at the meat swimming in it inside. obviously some is expected. we ordered 2 kebabs with salad. neither had any. it is a sad state of affairs when the pitta is the tastiest part of the meal. so disappointing.

Absolutely nightmare today! Waiting time took ages, chicken seems been served yesterday leftovers, and best thing! Instead of chicken doner meat in kebab, there was lamb! I don’t eat that meat from my childhood, never! When I call back to change my kebab, it was challenging! Operative didn’t understand what I want! Finally he did! And now I am still waiting! I am waiting for my bloody chicken doner kebab for 3 hours today so far 😀😀 don’t know how long still, probably I am forgotten at all!!
