The beat cup of coffee I have had in Cambridge

We recently ordered a full breakfast, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. The portion was much smaller than expected for the price, and the food was excessively oily. It felt like the quality didn't match what was charged, especially considering the service fee on top of it. Not the experience I was hoping for, and I won’t be ordering again anytime soon.

I visited a few weeks ago - the decorations in here are gorgeous and the service was fine, but this was one of the worst mochas I've had! Little to no cocoa or chocolate flavour, the colour of the drink was very close to milk. I can't comment on food though, so it may be better for that.

A bit of a tourist trap, but perfectly located opposite King's... They do Turkish style coffee (my fave), so I always drop in for one when I am in town.

Chicken noodle soup was very oily with a strong bell pepper flavour (wasn’t mentioned of the menu) and with dry chicken it was not worth £7.50

Slow cooked Lamb shank is a must try! Nice ambience!

Lovely place to stop off for a cuppa coffee and sweet treat

Lovely service here, great staff and speedy serving! Food is decent but not amazing. Tried their Turkish breakfast which doesn’t look substantial but filled me up. Their soup of the day (chicken noodle soup) was too tomatoey and lacking in flavour. Not the greatest, so I would avoid. They have a decent and varied menu so I’m sure there is something for everyone here. This came highly recommended by local Cambridge students and I understand why. Efficient service and decent food. Not worth visiting if you’re looking for something a bit more flavourful or fancy.

The team were so accommodating to make my autistic daughter’s experience for birthday so pleasurable. We all felt at ease and very welcome

Fanno la gran parte del menù anche senza glutine. Sono attenti e volendo portano su richiesta anche pane senza glutine tostato o non tostato. Il tutto con la vista sulla King’s Parade. Il locale è il ristorante che compare anche in una famosa serie tv locale. Merita!

Beautiful location! Sitting on a wooden chair having my warm lentil soup looking through the window at one of the most prestigious colleges. I loved this experience. Highly recommended.

Not the cheapest place but lovely food, I sat here for a couple of hours while my mum attended the church service and they did not try to rush me out. I enjoyed the hash browns and hummous which were very tasty.

Real Turkish coffee; excellent baklava.

I went for breakfast on a Saturday. The staff are very friendly and the service was quick. Unfortunately, the full english breakfast that I ordered was underwhelming, it wasn't terrible but was really basic. It was similar to what you would expect from a cafe but more expensive. A friend at the table ordered smashed advocado with bacon on toast and that looked a lot nicer and was seasoned. So, overall it wasn't a negative experience but I suggest you don't order the full english if you are going for breakfast.

Fui allí cuando era responsable de un grupo de 20 personas. Otro restaurante había cancelado nuestra reserva la noche anterior, con muy poco tiempo de antelación. Llamé al dueño de The Copper Kettle e inmediatamente hizo todo lo necesario para resolver nuestro problema y acomodarnos, incluyendo unirse a su personal al día siguiente para poder servirnos. Apreciamos mucho su amabilidad y la de su personal. La comida era excelente y aunque la ubicación es fabulosa, los precios siguen siendo razonables.

Durante nuestra producción documental, Sefa y The Copper Kettle proporcionaron a nuestro equipo comida deliciosa y un gran lugar de rodaje cuando estábamos en un lugar difícil. Sefa, Burak y el resto del personal era extremadamente servicial y amable en todo, yendo más allá para ayudarnos. Genial solo para una comida fuera también!

A bit slow service. My coffee has bee delivered after 15 minutes and it wasn't hot.

I love Turkish breakfast places. There are loads of them in Greater London. This one in Cambridge is in a prime location and very well set up. However the food is probably the worst I have ever had in similar places in the UK. The prices are premium , but what they give you is cheap as chips. I had their version of Turkish breakfast. It included cucumber slices (cut many hours before and dry), dirt cheap plum cherry tomatoes, low quality Turkish feta cheese, cheddar cheese, egg and 4-5 bits of sudjuk - beef sausage. £13 or so for this. I'd say the value of the ingredients is around £3. Very disappointed with it, won't go there again despite the decent coffee and service. I suggest the owner pays a visit to some of the London Turkish breakfast places and see what they offer to their customers.

Called in for a cup of tea, and had a slice of millionaires shortbread to help it down. Great location in Cambridge. Food on other tables looked good.

A five-star place. We visited The Copper Kettle several times, mainly for lunch, during our recent stay in Cambridge and enjoyed the food, friendly service, and the central location of the restaurant every time.

Popped in for lunch, we both had beautifully cooked full English breakfasts & a side of hash brown puffs. 5* food, lovely customer service & atmosphere spot on

Refused to give us a table by the window even though it was empty - poor behaviour of the staff as well. Wouldn’t recommend it to the tourists. There are much better places around King’s Parade and city centre. Edit (in response to their reply): Your version sugarcoats reality. Our table change request was rudely rejected, leaving us stuck at a wobbly corner table. From start to finish, the experience was underwhelming.

10/10 quick service and leng food would go again, hash browns were unreal and sausages were leng leng, marmalade was a solid 9/10

This little gem is my favourite go to place. The staff alone make me look forward to going back. This evening sitting outside in the sun enjoying a couple of glasses of wine and great food was really what it's all about. Highly recommend it

Very slow service. Poor-quality food - industrially made scone, nasty, cheap, jelly-like jam. Not clotted cream. Very bad value for money, extremely disappointing. £17 for a tea, 2 coffees and an unpleasant scone with sub-par cream and jam. Gorgeous spot outside, right on King’s Parade, but not worth eating here.

This restaurant located near the Cambridge university has a review that is way different than my expectations. The food we ordered, which is Sirloin steak and CK burger has a price that didn’t match both the quality and quantity. The CK burger cost 15 pounds and all it serves is 2 thick bread, some lettuce pieces and a fried beef thin as paper. The taste overall is mediocre, a burger that can easily be made from a culinary newbie. The steak cost 24 pounds but it feels dry and coarse. The taste is mediocre still, with a bare salty. It mostlybecause it doesn’t deserve the price. However, the service is awesome and the atmosphere, as long as it is not rain or having a thunderstorm, is awesome, with breeze blowing, and some sunshine spread out on your back, best atmosphere ever

I've been here many times over the years for breakfast but yesterday was the first time post COVID. It's pretty much the same standard of service and atmosphere. We were served surprisingly quickly. What let it down was the sausages which seemed to be the cheap, tasteless, mostly breadcrumbs, variety.

Feels like they really didn’t care anymore about the food they were serving. Bland, unimaginative and way overpriced. Best thing on the plate were the beans which came out of a can. Seems like it was once good but then they just lost the passion and got lazy. Definitely not worth it for the price. Staff were friendly and location is beautiful though.

The food is not tasty, the sausage is the cheapest, the prices are not for the quality of the food.

We only asked for 2 teas but along came a pot of tea, we could have had 6 cups out of that and it was only £7 in the tourists centre of the city

They ordered me the wrong food and very bad service attitude.

I found the staff to be rather unpleasant and unprofessional. Try to charge me £3.60p for a tea to take away. Charge you same price as you pay for pot of tea.

We ate really good ham and wraps with a nice Black Sheeps beer. They are kind and helpful, we recommend them to everyone in the center of Cambridge.

A nice place, with a normally fine view. Very good food, the portions are big enough to make you feel full. The prices are ok, the staff friendly and very quick. Good we can pay in cash too.

Only had a drink here but managed to grab an outside table in the shade (hot day) and enjoyed people watching. Good views facing Kings College (and currently a protest camp) Food menu looked good and inside there is a gallery of famous people who have visited.

Very nice attentive staff. Food for four of us was very nice. For our family this was a return visit, and once again, really enjoyed their mousaka.

This is definitely not a complaint but our server didn't know what toast is and that was the most interesting part of our dining experience. Service was otherwise good, the food pretty decent as well. It was a bit crowded and noisy when we visited but we were seated immediately.

This café has a good location in the heart of Cambridge looking out onto Kings College. There was good table service and we enjoyed a much needed sit down with good quality coffee. The prices were reasonable and I’m pleased to say they preferred cash.

Went in today for lunch. Ordered the spinach & Ricotta ravioli. The sauce was watery. I think they had forgotten to drain it before plating it up. Well what it I expect for £14.50 😱

Only had coffee which was of a high standard. It was early and not too busy so able to sit for a fair time. Last time we had food it was very good.

The staff were keen to get us in and sat down, and took our order quickly. But then waited and waited, seeing tables arriving after us all getting their food. We had to ask another server twice for someone to check our food. Eventually, that different server brought the food out, but with a very half-hearted "sorry, my colleague forgot to put the order in." I don't blame someone for forgetting. These things happen. But the service afterwards was certainly lacking and kind of professional customer service, There was plenty of staff working, and our original server didn't even come over to apologise to us or even check on us. I don't think I'd be back next time I visit Cambridge.

ordered avocado on toast with extra egg. For 10 pounds i get 1 pies of toast with black avocado and 2 eggs. It was absolutely terrible , left caffe hungry. don't recommend to anyone. There is a lot better places in Cambridge. Never again

Goooood, the appetizers and lamb main are recommended. There was special price for 2 and 3 vourses meal too that was a really good deal. Will come back when I visit Cambridge. Tap water was sweet and refreshing. Service was great. The place is famous and packed so better make an appointment first. Halal

Did lunch here and had the two course special (I chose red lentil soup and chicken curry) for 20. The soup was more cream style (I prefer whole lentils), but was decent. Curry was also decent. Overall the food was fine, just not great. Good wine selection for a Mediterranean restaurant. Location is superb, as was the staff - but service was exceptionally slow. Lots of tourists here and in area. Lots of outdoor seating. Affordable for a tourist area. Would visit here again on a sunnier day for lunch outside if I knew I didn’t need to get away quickly.

I went with my family to visit Cambridge for the day and we ate here. Food was simple and enjoyable. We had the two course meal and were allowed to pick and choose how we wanted the 2 course meal e.g., starter and main or main and dessert. They also had 3 course meal. We had avocado & prawn cocktail, chicken curry with rice, lemon tart and strawberry cheesecake.

Very nice small restaurant overlooking King's College. Has almost a deli feel to it. Food was great and good value. I had salt and pepper squid followed by lamb moussaka and the finished with a very nice cherry tart with ice cream, three course deal for £25.50. Nice portions, food presented well and very attentive, friendly but not overwhelming service. Would definitely recommend for those looking for less formal dining in cafe/restaurant style.

Fabulous breakfast in a top location opposite Kings College. The breakfast menu was really extensive with vegan / vegetarian options and middle eastern twist. Fabulous Salmon and scrambled eggs. Great Coffee and Tea choice. Americano was top notch. Free cold water carafe and excellent attentive service. Good vibe. Excellent pastry choice too. Lunch and afternoon tea and snacks menu also very good. Of course very clean.Highly recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a place serving reasonable priced food in the centre of the tourist area. The starter I had was great value for money. I would come back for the food, but not for the coffee, which didn't taste great.

It was okay overall. I felt like the breakfast choices could have been better - the avocado on toast and scrabled eggs were a let down. No flavour, no salt .. and the presentation could do with a bit of inspiration. I would not return to be honest unless improvements were made.

Not really differentiating from college brunches on the weekends... It's okay to enjoy sightseeing at the King's Chapel while having your breakfast.

simple food, like at home. better than in fast food-like places like Cafe Nero, but I lacked creativity and elaboration on the meals. Mine was just oat flakes with yogurt and fruit, and they were not even overnight. My friend ordered eggs with Turkish sausage, though it seemed like usual sausage to me. Good, they added some veggies, some bread and butter. So, nothing special, but within the price, so that's OK. the service was good, the place was calm on Monday morning.

This Cafe is Famous in Cambridge and beyond it is very popular, the Food and Service is good and it is competitively priced. Tourists visiting Cambridge seem to make this one of their must visit places. But beware! This Cafe has an unusual policy and notices on the tables stating (We Prefer you to Pay in Cash) so be prepared. Other than that, it is well worth a visit.

Came here for afternoon tea a few times. Service was swift and staff were friendly. Highly recommend the strawberry cheesecake and the cappuccino was delicious! Edit: came back for lunch. Yogurt kebab was really nice and so was the hot chocolate :)
