Have a morning coffee looking at the wonderful view of Kings College. What's not to like?

I was pleasantly surprised to find a place serving reasonable priced food in the centre of the tourist area. The starter I had was great value for money. I would come back for the food, but not for the coffee, which didn't taste great.

It was okay overall. I felt like the breakfast choices could have been better - the avocado on toast and scrabled eggs were a let down. No flavour, no salt .. and the presentation could do with a bit of inspiration. I would not return to be honest unless improvements were made.

Whet in today for lunch. Ordered the spinach & Ricotta ravioli. The sauce was watery. I think they had forgotten to drain it before plating it up. Well what it I expect for £14.50 😱

Not really differentiating from college brunches on the weekends... It's okay to enjoy sightseeing at the King's Chapel while having your breakfast.

Friendly service and nice coffee, lovely views

simple food, like at home. better than in fast food-like places like Cafe Nero, but I lacked creativity and elaboration on the meals. Mine was just oat flakes with yogurt and fruit, and they were not even overnight. My friend ordered eggs with Turkish sausage, though it seemed like usual sausage to me. Good, they added some veggies, some bread and butter. So, nothing special, but within the price, so that's OK. the service was good, the place was calm on Monday morning.

This Cafe is Famous in Cambridge and beyond it is very popular, the Food and Service is good and it is competitively priced. Tourists visiting Cambridge seem to make this one of their must visit places. But beware! This Cafe has an unusual policy and notices on the tables stating (We Prefer you to Pay in Cash) so be prepared. Other than that, it is well worth a visit.

Came here for afternoon tea a few times. Service was swift and staff were friendly. Highly recommend the strawberry cheesecake and the cappuccino was delicious! Edit: came back for lunch. Yogurt kebab was really nice and so was the hot chocolate :)

Not been here for many years but still excellent.

My usual haunt upon returning to Cambridge. Great view and atmosphere, not rushing it and availing all sorts of special dishes satisfying special needs re diets and allergies. A little bit pricy but OK, you also pay for the place and at least they don't rush you out like a cash-cow without being asked for the bill. So it is quite relaxed and breakfast all day long.

Easy to locate and a fine location for a quick bite.

Came for a tea break on the weekend. Great location near King's college. The place was pretty full so we had to sit at the back - the vibe up front esp by the windows are much nicer. We had scones which were nice and moist enough with clotted cream and jam. Felt the jam was not enough for the scone which came in a good size).

Good view, bad mushrooms View: great (of King's College). Cappuccino: strong, hot, foamy. I had the veggie breakfast with gluten free toast. Existence of gluten free toast: Thumbs up. But: Mushrooms inedible; tasteless, tepid and out of a tin. Tomato: watery and cold. Scrambled eggs: OK. Baked beans: a lot, in a separate dish, jist the right temperature. Avocado: pre-crushed. The mushrooms and tomato very disappointing for the price.

Have been visiting the C K from over 40 years and it never fails to deliver.

A perfect spot for breakfast/brunch. It was quiet the morning I went, it was a Tuesday. We sat in the front window and watched the cycles go by headed to work. Service was good, no complaints. We ordered coffee and water for drinks. We ordered a Turkish breakfast and the Healthy Body waffles but substituted strawberries for bananas. The food arrived in an appropriate amount of time. There wasn’t a rush to finish. We enjoyed the view and the food. We will definitely be back again.

Great service, halal food, fantastic location

Popped in for desserts, not disappointed. Lemon tart, brownie, ice cream, coffee, all were really good and very friendly service as well.

Had dinner this evening with 13 year old grandson. Never visited before today. Excellent choice of food and a pleasant relaxed restaurant atmosphere. Wait staff very attentive without being the least bit obsequious. We had the burger, the chickpea casserole and my grandson a wrap and fries. Deserts were very very good especially the cherry crumble tart. Will go there again for sure.

Visited with my Wife as this was the venue that her Dad used to take her Mum when he was studying at Cambridge back jn the 1940's. Lovely food. Great atmosphere and lovely staff.

Fabulous place! Seven of us had an early dinner there last Saturday. The location is perfect - opposite Kings College, near the shops and theatre. Service is 1st class, Bev made us feel so welcome. The food is exceptional. I had prawn cocktail and then lamb with salad and rice, too full for a wonderful dessert I’m afraid. Would highly recommend.

Langweilige, überteuerte Gerichte für Vegetarier. Wir hatten den Hummus und Falafel Wrap und den Drei Käse Salat. Beides sehr fade, wenig Hummus im Wrap, kein vernünftiges Salatdressing… Schade! Service war aber aufmerksam und freundlich.

The red lentil soup was so tasty. And to follow, the Moussaka was perfect. Revived me superbly while exploring the Colleges.

Extremely disappointing and poor value for money. I ordered the Turkish breakfast and for £13.50 I received 2 fried eggs and tiny portions of vegetables that I could have cut myself, presented terribly. I knew this place was a bit of a tourist trap but I didn’t know it was to this degree. Service was also the total bare minimum and yet they add a 10% surcharge. I do not recommend coming here; much better places in Cambridge that serve better food for less money.

I order a flat white and got a bit of dirty water with froth milk. Perhaps the worst “coffee” I’ve had in years.

The service here is excellent and the coffee just as good. Try some of the Turkish snack they are very good. And a fabulous view of Kings College too!

Fantastic lunch! We ate here twice as the lunch menu provides good choice. The wraps are just what we wanted for our lunch and set us up well for the day. We sat both indoors and out and both were lovely.

Always loved this place. Situated at the heart of Cambridge, just opposite to King's College, it offers food at a very reasonable price. Service was great and as usual food was awesome. Best part of it all is to absorb the Cambridge life while having your lunch just beside the window or sitting outside.

Nice food at a reasonable price scrambled egg and salmon for £12.90 I would have expected two slices of toast. There is an optional service charge of 10% which is optional on their behalf because they decided to charge it without running the decision by me. If given the choice I would have paid it but they need to learn the difference between ‘optional’ and ‘compulsory’.

Extremely overpriced for what they offer. Absolute joke. Ordered a portion of baklava (which were 2 small pieces the size of my little pinkie finger), and this cost £6 (£5.90 to be exact). Quality was not good An obvious tourist trap... Complete rip off!

We ordered our food, sweet chilli halloumi wrap and chips and a ricotta and spinach ravioli and some drinks. Drinks arrived in good time but when the food arrived, disappointed was an understatement, tiny amount of ravioli for £14.20. The wrap didn’t have any sweet chilli and when challenged was asked to show them it was missing, then brought out for my wife to add herself. It then started to rain as we were eating outside, I asked if they could open up the umbrella behind us which they agreed but waited minutes for then as our food was being rained on so took it upon myself to action before they finally came out to help This customer service was poor, didn’t ask how the food was or bring the water we’d asked for, for our dog. I believe they trade on the location and don’t really care about the dining experience of their customers. Would not visit again.

Like the food, lots of meat and an acceptable price. But I gotta say I waited for 10min for a server to reach me and get my bill, eventually they told me to go counter. Maybe next time you can state that out after all course are on table.

The food was not only delightful but also beautifully presented. What truly stood out was the fantastic service we received. Attentive and friendly staff added to the overall experience. We kicked off our meal with the mixed meze, a delightful array of flavors. For the main course, we indulged in a salad with halloumi and a perfectly cooked steak. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for a memorable dining experience.

The baklava with a dollop of vanilla ice cream is to die for. Run, don’t walk, there. Reasonably priced food in the heart of Cambridge. Service is great and the owner was there to greet us. Hear the lamb shank is excellent. Will have to come back.

For the price, would have liked a bit more flavour and larger portion size. Appreciate that it’s bang in the middle of the tourist area and therefore will be pricer but quality of food not great. Would benefit from sourdough bread rather than toast, more flavour with the eggs/avocado.

Leuke, drukke café. Turks ontbijt is heerlijk. De wafel was volgens mij niet vers toebereid. Service was vriendelijk en snel. Een van de weinige cafés die open waren op zondag.

They charged me service charges 7£ just for one coffee and scone for a single person . Way too much . Never going back . That’s horrible .

The quality of the food is average and it is overpriced.

Nice, clean and a bit aristocratic looking/atmosphere. Very inviting when you walk by and looking in. Lamb shank very nice and tasty. Lentil soup good. Lamb kebabs to dry. No juice or sauce to compliment the dish. Pistachio Baklava. Well one was good but one was completely empty inside just a hollow tube ? So why only two stars ? First thing you notice after signing down there is a little note on each table informing the costumer the electronic payment system is not working all the time and bla bla bla. We counted our cash and sorry but we did not have enough to cover an evenings dinner. Well. No problem the server notified us. The electronic system WoW was working again. Hurray…, On the menu it is written that a 10% service chat is added to all recipes but is voluntary. And was again mentioned when the bill came. This is the first time in all our travels in this beautiful country England that we have encountered this little detail and we think it is a little dirty trick. You feel bad for some reason when you receive the check and already the 10% is added to the total even if it says Opt. ( I assumed that means optional) We were there on a Saturday night just after 8. Most restaurants are busy then. Not this one. I’m wondering if those two little discussions may have kept the crowd away ?? Hugs …

Good pasta , but a bit expensive, perhaps serve with some bread for sauce mopping purposes.service was quick and efficient. Glad to see Fentimans dinks!

Ordered flat white and latte thinking to have nice afternoon drinks.we were served Terrible big mugs they looked like in care home, with spoons in them,no saucer, not nice at all. Did not enjoy. Never coming back.

Very tasty, good food. Excellent service and a lovely welcome from a bustling business. We only had a burger and a wrap but everything was beautifully presented and very good quality. Usually I moan about an "enforced" service charge but it was well earned.

This is a delightful cafe in the heart of Cambridge serving a delicious menu of Mediterranean inspired dishes. We were pleased to get a table despite it being a very busy Saturday lunchtime. We enjoyed a chicken wrap served with a generous portion of fries, and a delicious chicken salad with a bbq-style dressing. The view out onto King’s College is fabulous and service was prompt and very friendly. The decor is lovely and it had a really fresh, summery feel. Would highly recommend.

When you see on the breakfast menu smashed avocado on toast £8 and under it says add fried egg or scrambled egg +£1 so total £9 you thinking at least you going to get something to have breakfast. How much is cost this. 1egg half avocado and two small slice bread. I am not going to put that picture in here. We got 2 of that, 2 veg breakfast and 4 coffees. Total £78 bill came. I can bet it does not cost more than £8. Extremely expensive when you see what you get.

If their card machine is broken and you don’t have cash they keep some of your belongings as security (or I would say hostage) until you come back with cash. Never experienced this before. I wish I had reported them to city council or their ombudsman. Totally illegal. I am a dental surgeon and surely wouldn’t run away with £13 worth of food. It wasn’t my first time at this place but surely my last time.

Cambridge guides rate this as a must for breakfast. Good tourism location, clean but boring seating and decor. Service OK but breakfast menu is hardly an English experience. Very good coffee but without choice a pricey croissant with marmalade seemed the simplest option. Surely there must be better English places that guides could recommend.

Went for breakfast on a weekday, chose this cafe primarily for the view. Food was good, although a little pricey and the staff professional but not particularly attentive. Be aware, as others have said, the 'optional' service charge is automatically added to the total and if you pay at the desk without being presented with the bill it will be added without being asked. It is on the menu but usually 'optional' and 'discretionary' would mean you are given the choice and usually only applies to large groups for dinner service. I don't mind tipping but would prefer the option.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The menu offered vegan, vegetarian and traditional breakfast. We chose the CK full English and vegetarian breakfasts. Both were delicious. Would highly recommend.

The experience is not one that I enjoyed. I was looking forward to the smoked salmon and eggs but halfway through I found a black hair in the eggs. I got the feeling it traded on past glories.

Beautiful breakfast, I had the Turkish breakfast, which I really enjoyed (maybe more so than an English breakfast?) I found the little bit of sausage to go a long way due to the flavour and I really liked having the fresh elements like the creamy cheese and the olives. Will definitely come back but I heard somewhere that it is closing down, please don’t let this be true, help out this wonderful business in the heart of Cambridge!

Nice bright cafe but front of house could have been more welcoming/friendlier/happy as felt he was fed up with his day. Our coffee was good and we had a nice window table. My water I asked for never materialised so that sums up our visit...

It's located right in the middle of the kings parade, next to the old school and kings college chapel. The biggest advantage of having food here is you can enjoy the location especially kings college and just watch people. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. However outdoor seating is just a small table for 2 people. They do different foods. We tried their chicken wrap which was good, but could have been better by including more salad stuff. Overall it's a good place to eat and the service is good.
