We spent a very rainy morning of our holiday here with our 21 month old, the staff are really friendly and helpful and there is a fabulous relaxed atmosphere. Our little absolutely loved the soft play and happily spent at least a couple of hours climbing, sliding and running and she would probably have stayed longer! We had a pleasant lunch of baked potatoes and warm baguettes. We would definitely visit again if we were in the area! Our only very slight suggestion would be to get some new batteries for some of the role play toys . Overall a really enjoyable experience, well done guys you really are doing a wonderful job! I wish there was something like this local to us!!

Your first challenge in Helmsley is choosing a cafe. There is lots to choose from. We decided on Manion and Co. (Based on the amazing-looking fruit scones in the window) We received a very warm welcome and were told there was a wait, but it would only be 10 minutes, which it was. The interior was full of character. I chose the pork sandwich, and my wife the sausage and egg sandwich. Both lovely. The sandwiches are expensive, but it is worthwhile when they arrive. They are worth every penny. I then ordered the scone I had been waiting for, and it didn't disappoint. I am a bit of a fan of scones, and this one is up there with the best. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. It is a lovely cafe; we will be back. How it should be done!

Stayed a couple of nights as B&B guests. Lovely big room and large ensuite bathroom with both a roll top bath and 'wet room' shower. Huge comfortable bed. Very enjoyable stay - the couple who own it went above and beyond in making it a delightful place to stay. Breakfast is in the cafe - they don't do fried 'English breakfast' but you choose what you want from the cafe menu. Good coffee - was needed after a heavy night out in Helmsley.

We didn’t want a lot to eat so we went to the bakery. The food was fabulous and the portion sizes were big. I had the soup, there was a choice of rolls to have with it. My husband had a bacon stottie. We both enjoyed what we had very much. My husband had to finish mine off as the portion was so generous. A good choice of food on the menu, the cakes looked amazing. The bread is very fresh.

Called in for lunch with a friend. We both had the parsnip soup and a cheese roll. It was busy but we got a table for two. Food was nice.

Enjoyed the Mocha and fed that back, however the avocado on toast was appalling. One single piece of toast with a small amount of avocado for £8.. When I gave feedback to owner at his request he just walked off, no apology or attempt to put things right.

My parents come to Pickering every year and I often join them. This place is a lovely little spot. We've never dined in, always just had a brew and then taken some bits home for lunch but it's delicious mostly homebaked stuff and the folk who run it are lovely. Hope you're still there when we're next around!

Booked the brewery tour package from Red Letter days. The tour was very informative with Josh being a fountain of knowledge and obviously loving brewing and beer. His witty remarks and low key humour really made the tour enjoyable. The beer tasting in the bar was flexible and offered a pint taken eith as a pint, two halves or a flight of 3, third pints to enable a range to be tried! Although a small brewery they have some quite advanced mechanisation for bottling, canning and casking! Very impressed,

Been here so many times for our ice creams. The choice is extensive and the quality outstanding. By far the best ice cream in the county. Definitely 5* Lunch in the Black Swan and an ice cream waffle cone from here afterwards is the perfect finish before the drive back home.

This cafe has been closed for months. There doesnt seem any sight of it reopening. I think the owner was having staff problems and suffering from unsympathetic reviews. We enjoyed our visits and good food. Shame

We love Forest and Vale Hotel which is a lovely building. It’s spotless and the staff are so kind, friendly and patient. Thanks to Jonty for his help today. We’re three, picky, seniors who require vegetarian, gluten-free and plant milk but all our needs were catered-for.

What a lovely bakery, spoilt for choice.. what I did buy was beautiful & fresh 😋 I would definitely recommend and I will visit again.

Really friendly and tasty fare. Plenty of choice which was a real representation of good Yorkshire fare. Reasonably priced too
