We called in for a coffee and a look around the little shops on site. The coffee was lovely. We then booked a table to return for our lunch. There was a nice choice of sandwiches, panini's, soup, daily specials, homemade cakes & scones, tea, coffees, milkshakes & cold drinks. The staff were very friendly and efficient & the coffee shop had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We chose the ham cheese & red onion chutney panini which came with a side of crisps and dressed salad with a pot of tea with a cheese scone to follow. The tea was served in lovely vintage china crockery & the panini was very tasty indeed. It can take a little while for your food to come especially at busy times as it is all prepared and cooked to order, but it is well worth the wait. You won't be disappointed 10/10

Took my daughter and granddaughter to York , as a Thankyou my daughter took me to the Mad Hatters Cafe, all themed on Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Great fun lots of oddities in the place. We had lots of fun

Really Friendly staff, so I feel bad giving such a low score. Set in a Really quaint Station tea Room. Selling sandwiches, pastries etc . We both had a hot drink, pasty and a Lemon Meringue Pie. My Husband said his pasty was just OK. Mine was cheese & onion, and it was just so bland and tasteless. I ordered a Yorkshire Tea, and I was expecting a lovely strong Brew. Instead of being allowed to make the Tea to our own preferences, the staff do that for you. I was horrified to see loads of milk being poured in for me, it was just so weak, awful grey and milky, really bad! One of the worst cuppas I've ever had! I couldn't drink it. I think they should consider letting customers make their own tea (like every other restaurant)

A real find. Tucked away behind a whisky shop, past the secret door and up the stairs you'll find a little gem of a bar. Chat to the barman, listen to the recommendations and relax. Just what you need after a long day eating the treats that Malton provides!

We chose the Middleton arms after seeing pictures of the gammon steak on Facebook, unfortunately this was sold out on the evening we went along with a few other dishes on the menu. I ordered the potato skins starter which came as a large portion which I enjoyed followed by Whitby scampi, this was average with frozen scampi. My wife had garlic mushrooms for starter which was okay, for main she had steak pie which she said was very nice.

Having been to the Stapleton Arms at Wass on many occasions and even been shown the bedrooms, 4 of us booked B&B and evening meals. I booked online 2 rooms. The 'Superior' room £150 per night and the other £100. However, we were not aware the venue had changed hands but it almost immediately became apparent. The stairs leading to the bedrooms looked very tierd and unhoovered. The landing and our bedroom stank of burnt fat and the rooms were very basic and on opening the wardrobe I found empty drink bottles. The door to the shower had black rising up it and the shower just ran like a tap.. Our meal was fine and our friends ordered a bottle of champagne which cost £70 which we were happy to pay but when the bill for the meal arrived it was altogether £340. They had even charged extra for a blob of icecream on my pudding as they said icecream was an extra. Next morning we met at breakfast only to discover that our friend staying in the 'Superior' room, one of whom is very seriously ill and this was supposed to be a treat during a break from treatment, found the shower was not working and they couldn't find a shaving ;point. Just to add insult to injury one of our party ordered a poached egg and when it arrived the toast was burnt black on the underside and my bacon was floating in fat. Had it not been for the fact that one of our party was very ill and we didn't want to make a fuss we paid up the bill and left. Not once did the manager ask us if everything was o.k. He was totally uninterested. What a nightmare stay. Never again, The next morning I phoned to speak to the owner but she was not at work but would ring me on the Thursday of that week. She never rang. I rang back a week later and was told the owner had been given my complaint and she would ring me but another weerk later I have received no response. I suppose she is £600 better off and we will never grace their doors again.

A small place but with a great amount of choice of food and drink. I always get the barbecue chicken and bacon panini because it’s extremely delicious. There’s a good amount of filling in the panini; it’s packed with barbecue flavoured chicken, bacon and cheese. I like the seating outside viewing the town.

The Bay Horse Inn in Burythorpe is an excellent pub - very cosy, attractively decorated and with two fire places (at least!) ensuring the place is warm throughout. An excellent range of Old Mill beers on tap, including their Traditional Bitter, of which I couldn’t get enough. We were there every night of our week’s stay in Burythorpe - in fact James, behind the bar, practically had my pint ready for me as I walked in the door after the 2nd evening. The owners and staff were all very friendly, and the food delicious - we ate in the pub four times, with food ranging from burgers, vegetable tarts, pizzas and excellent fish and chips, we were more than satisfied each time. For such a welcoming, cosy village-feel pub with a great warm atmosphere, my only hope is it gets busier over time - perhaps because Burythorpe is a small village, at times we were the only customers in, but it deserves a lot more custom. We’re absolutely hoping to be able to go back at some point.

We found this lovely little place on a rainy day in Malton. The food is absolutely delicious. We ate ours inside with a lovely coffee in a very welcoming, but small dining room upstairs. A little pricey but everywhere is these days. Would highly recommend.

Very comfortable stay, cozy pub with good food, staff were very friendly. My stay was good all round. Good menu I had the steak and a couple pints. The room was basic but homely very neat and tidy, the bathroom is outside the room but I think that is reflected in the price which is very reasonable, sub £50 midweek. WiFi available is not the best but sufficient. Thank you very much. Would recommend. 👍😊

We spent a very rainy morning of our holiday here with our 21 month old, the staff are really friendly and helpful and there is a fabulous relaxed atmosphere. Our little absolutely loved the soft play and happily spent at least a couple of hours climbing, sliding and running and she would probably have stayed longer! We had a pleasant lunch of baked potatoes and warm baguettes. We would definitely visit again if we were in the area! Our only very slight suggestion would be to get some new batteries for some of the role play toys . Overall a really enjoyable experience, well done guys you really are doing a wonderful job! I wish there was something like this local to us!!
