2 lattes, great coffee. Knowledgeable staff. Lovely surroudings. Located in Talbot Yard alongside the Groovy Moo for ice-cream, bakery, butchers, gin distillery, and patisserie. Stopped off on the way in and later back out.

We stopped here after spotting the roastery. The coffee was excellent, as was the selection you can purchase, all freshly roasted, well worth a visit.

We called in here earlier today en route to Whitby. The smell of the freshly ground coffee is incredible and the coffee was excellent. They didn’t have much food available but they encouraged us to buy at the artisan shops in the same courtyard and bring what we chose back into Roost to enjoy with our coffee. A great experience - recommended.

Lovely place, great coffee. Just wished they were open for a bit longer, even 4! Would quite like a leisurely coffee at around 2:30/3 but they're shutting up.

We called into Roost Coffee whilst staying at the very nearby Talbot Hotel. We sat inside, the doors were open, there was a clearly defined entrance and exit - a very decent flat white (also a tea too)! A warm welcome from the staff, tables being wiped down, a place to sanitise your hands too.

After a short wander in the town of Malton we sought out Talbot Yard on the edge of the town opposite the Talbot Hotel on Yorkersgate. The modernised, former coaching yard is the home to a variety of independent businesses, all sensitively set in a pedestrianised courtyard, each with their own unique style. Roost Coffee recommended the Tonto coffee when I asked for a stronger flavour and it was lovely ... flavoursome without being overpowering. It was served hot and black - perfect! They are a doggy friendly space and our pooch, who is never particularly settled in restaurants or cafés was able to see out of the window and behaved himself very well. The staff even gave him a free doggy biscuit!I'd recommend this place for picking up locally produced, freshly roasted coffee and for either coffee 'on the go' or a quick pit stop.

Called in for a coffee just before Christmas for a warm up, after a ride out on the motorbike. The coffees (cappuccino) were excellent as was the service.Bought a sachet of their Swiss water Guatemala decaf to take home.Just had a coffee with decaf and can confirm it is the best home made cappuccino I have ever tasted.Well worth the 40 mile ride out and will be calling in there again for more.

We popped in for a quick coffee. The coffee was good and we got a good warm welcome from the friendly staff. Better than visiting a large chain coffee shop.

Primarily visited as I’m an indy coffee fan and wanted to buy some of their roasted beans. It’s beautifully situated in the Talbot Food Yard, with lots of other tempting offerings nearby and a short walk from the Market Place. I had high expectations of my coffee as I knew these guys are coffee experts and we both loved the coffee and Italian pastries so we’re not disappointed Very friendly staff too! Finally very impressed at range of coffees to take away! Defo return.

My partner and I came across this humble roastery / cafe calling in at the bakery next door. I (being a big fan of artisan coffee) leaped at the opportunity to enter this welcoming cafe from the cold outdoors. A welcoming 'Hello' from the busy duo behind the counter and a strong whiff of coffee, we knew we had entered the right place! The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality. I will be back to grab a fresh roast myself and to bring some friends on the bike. I highly recommend you visit this spot!

Saw this roastery on 'Escape to the Perfect Town' on BBC and am so glad I did! Their coffee is amazing. I came out with 5 different types of beans! My go to place for coffee from now on!

Fantastic coffee, roasted on the premises and expertly prepared by friendly staff. My favourite is the standard brew either in flat white, capuccino or expresso form. Great to be able to take away the same coffee home for home brewing via an areopress.

I'm pretty fussy when it comes to coffee so was delighted to find this place; two great espressos plus I bought a bag of beans that I've already opened at home. If you like good coffee I am pretty sure you will find it here.

What a great find. Tucked away in Talbot Yard is this fantastic coffee shop who roast there own beans. Amazing deep flavoured coffee which was a joy to drink. There are a few tables indoors and it is dog friendly too. Staff were friendly. Thankfully they did coffee beans to buy too so we can try some at home. Our only disappointment is they close at 2pm on Tuesdays when we'd gone back for a second go. Shame we aren't local.

On a recent quick visit to Malton we discovered this gem of a coffee shop. Roost is a family run business. They roast quality coffee beans and make delicious, very reasonably priced cups of coffee. The coffee shop has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and is dog friendly too. We bought coffee to take home as we were so impressed!

Absolutely loved this place. Very rustic and basic inside, but brilliant fruity coffee and helpful staff. It was cool to see the beans being mixed, and get info on all the different type of coffees. Will be back!

This is a small family run business in the lovely market town of Malton. You can sit and enjoy a lovely cup of coffee with beans that have been roasted on site and then you can even buy your favourite blend to take home which has been freshly ground to which ever machine you have. We met Ruth who was extremely friendly and helpful and certainly knows her coffee. Hopefully next time we will meet David. A lot of the local cafes also serve their coffee. Well worth a visit we will be back on our next visit to Malton

Decent choice of food available however we ordered pie mash Mushy peas and gravy. Only had 1 pie (so got a pasty as there was 2 of us) Mash was made from a jacket potato it was very lumpy tinned peas over blasted in the microwave served with a smile however forgot the gravy and it arrived half way through us eating the meal. Sadly this place could be a little gold mine if run correctly and proper attention to detail applied with the food. We hafmd our lunch at 12.15 so there was no way they could have ran out of mash? Could do better really

Booked the brewery tour package from Red Letter days. The tour was very informative with Josh being a fountain of knowledge and obviously loving brewing and beer. His witty remarks and low key humour really made the tour enjoyable. The beer tasting in the bar was flexible and offered a pint taken eith as a pint, two halves or a flight of 3, third pints to enable a range to be tried! Although a small brewery they have some quite advanced mechanisation for bottling, canning and casking! Very impressed,

A lovely friendly bakery, just one wee table to sit and and have a coffee and observe the comings and goings of the regulars, the holiday makers and day trippers. Bread and cakes wonderful, a lovely lady owns this place and I wish her well!
