We bought several items, the scones were very good, but the apple pie was sour and the apples undercooked, the egg custard was only average, and to be honest it's over priced.

Popped in this afternoon as we were passing by and bought a couple of their lovely cakes for tea. It was the first time I’ve visited this bakery and I cannot say how wonderful the cakes we had were - the almond tart was beautiful, as was the coconut one. Loads of different cakes and buns to choose from and all wonderfully freshly made. Highly recommended.

We were recommended this particular bakery - especially for the Curd Tarts. So we made a weekend trip especially to be able to come here. We bought a few things (could have bought more). However the Curd Tart is not to be missed - and well worth the trip alone.

Really sorry to give this rating, today I bought a curd tart and to be honest with you it's the worst tart I've ever tasted ever. it was a thick creamy slushy stodge filling with no curds viable a few currants in it and a strong taste of nutmeg the pastry case was fine ☹️I know there will be curds in there somewhere but why beat them to a creamy mush.people buy Curd tarts to taste the curd..

With the pandemic ‘roadmap’ only recently permitting cafés, restaurants and pubs to offer dining - outside, choosing to have a picnic lunch on a warm and sunny afternoon in April wasn’t so daft. Being a visitor to Helmsley, Auntie Anne’s was the first place I came across along the pedestrian route from the long stay car park, and I returned to the benches under the trees just beyond the car park with my picnic. My ham bap was made to order and the fruit flapjack was delicious: neither too hard and brittle, nor too sweet, and it was filled with juicy pieces of fruit. There was plenty of evidence of Covid-compliance and I was happy to support this local business.

Visited here far to many times on our 4 day break because they do to many yummy things. My husband loved the steak pie full of juicy meat. My daughter had a chicken Tikka pastie which she enjoyed. We split a homemade caramel shortcake between 3 because my daughter doesn't usually eat it but said it was the best. I can also recommend the fairy cakes brought a packet back home to oxfordshire

It was a lovely sunny day so we sat in the front garden area rather than inside. I cant complain about the food but it was completely ruined by incosiderate smokers around us. As the area was enclosed by bushes we assumed that it was a no-smoking area. This was clearly not the case as three seperate people thought it fine to smoke next to people who are eating. The fact that two memebers of staff said nothing about it and were happy to converse with the smokers shows that they are happy with the habit on their premises. Ive no idea why they cowtail to smokers like this and allow them to smoke in a confined area but they wont be getting my business again.

The adjoining Castlegate Cafe had told us that the fabulous steak pies and wholemeal bread we’d eaten there had come from Auntie Anne’s so we called. Alas, the steak pies had sold out and another batch was in the oven but we couldn’t afford time to wait for them to come out. But we did buy the bread. There were loads of other home made goodies on sale. Well worth a visit.

Yesterday, in search of Eccles cakes in Helmsley, we came across Auntie Anne's bakery. Having tried a number of bakeries, without success, we asked the lady in Auntie Anne's bakery. The charming lady behind the counter informed us that they didn't have any either. We asked for advice about where we might find some. After consulting her colleague she said they could make us Eccles cakes if we wanted, but they would take about 45 minutes. With great appreciation we said, "Yes please!" On returning 45 minutes later the lady showed us the newly baked Eccles cakes and politely asked whether these were what we wanted. They were; and we bought a couple. I have to say they were the nicest Eccles cakes we have tasted. They were brimming full with juicy currents and the pastry was perfect too. I think it's fair to say that Auntie Anne's bakery went far above and beyond our expectations. What has set them apart for us this holiday is the quality of the cakes, the quality of the service and the genuine desire they showed to meet our request.

I stopped here for coffee mid morning. The staff are pleasant and polite and the service was speedy. My coffee was what I can only describe as boiling hot, brown coloured water ....absolutely tasteless. The sign outside specified 'artisan' coffee so I was expecting a really good cup. I'd seen it being made while standing at the counter. At £2.25 it was not a good deal. The cakes looked fantastic so perhaps I should have had some to flavour the coffee!

We visited the bakery, couldn't see any sandwiches so asked the young assistant. She said yes they did sell them and they were made to order. They were - fresh bread with delicious fillings, at a very reasonable price. There was l cheese scone left (which I love) - the owner pointed out that it was the day befores but to me that didn't matter. I cheekily asked if I could have it buttered so she said 'of course' and promptly did so and didn't charge - it's one of the best cheese scones I've ever had!We were all very impressed with the service and friendliness. The range of homemade cakes and biscuits is amazing. We certainly would visit again.

Bought a few products at this bakery over two visits. The bread was poor quality as it was flat (the rolls) and over baked. The cakes lacked volume and the one's we bought were no way near the quality of the one's we have previously bought from this bakery several years ago. Maybe we visited on bad days but overall we were disappointed and expected much more based on previous experiences.

The manager was clearly training some new staff and was very pleasant and accommodating.I ordered the Full breakfast and my Mrs tried the Cheddar and Yorkshire Chutney toaster. At sub £7 for the breakfast I was surprised by the quality of the bacon and sausage. Decent choice of food available however we ordered pie mash Mushy peas and gravy. Only had 1 pie (so got a pasty as there was 2 of us) Mash was made from a jacket potato it was very lumpy tinned peas over blasted in the microwave served with a smile however forgot the gravy and it arrived half way through us eating the meal. Sadly this place could be a little gold mine if run correctly and proper attention to detail applied with the food. We hafmd our lunch at 12.15 so there was no way they could have ran out of mash? Could do better really

Booked the brewery tour package from Red Letter days. The tour was very informative with Josh being a fountain of knowledge and obviously loving brewing and beer. His witty remarks and low key humour really made the tour enjoyable. The beer tasting in the bar was flexible and offered a pint taken eith as a pint, two halves or a flight of 3, third pints to enable a range to be tried! Although a small brewery they have some quite advanced mechanisation for bottling, canning and casking! Very impressed,
