What a lovely bakery, spoilt for choice.. what I did buy was beautiful & fresh 😋 I would definitely recommend and I will visit again.

Discrimitory, I was buying buns and I gave a £20 Clydesdale bank notein payment; the counter assistant refused to take Scottish money which IS LEGAL TENDER in Britain. I think this is discrimination against Scottish people. In future I will not purchase anything from Thomson the Bakers.

As and 89 year old I can struggle with my mobility, even so I decided I would attempt the mammoth task of entering the inclined step in my wheel chair, I then thought I would treat myself to a sugary treat “yum, yum” to which the rather plump blonde women suggested that I wheel my wrinkly ar**back out as I was taking to much room up in the shop. I cannot believe that someone has the audacity to speak to an 89 year old women like that! She then proceed to throw a yum yum at my head, this made me nauseous sick and quite frankly disgusted. I beg anyone who wants to buy from this particular shop not too! Disgraceful

Lovely food served by helpful friendly staff. A vast selection of deliciousness awaits you! Staff were obliging and helped me out with town directions too.

I had a pasty it was hard spoke to manager had red hair she was rude and made me feel intimidated upset and she even started shouting at me when I was going out of the shop said trying it on I left half eaten pasty and left please don't use

The sausage rolls here were simply the best, and not expensive. We also got various other items and all were lovely, highly recommended

WoW this chain of bakery is fabulous, wish we had these at home ! We loved the Chocolate Orange Danish Pastries and also the Sausage Rolls and Filled Rolls were good, all reasonably priced as well.

Excellent bakers. All items displayed are well presented. Cheese straws and their filled rolls are so tasty. It is a busy shop so therefore well liked.

Popped in here having ridden on the North Yorkshire Moors to buy lunch one day and iced buns another. Good selection to choose from. Food was really scrummy and we were served efficiently and by friendly staff.

Really nice bakery, with baking on the premises. The pasties are crisp and light. The cakes are tasty. Takeaway drinks are available, and they have meal deals.

Been here a few times bought the Fat Scamps and cheese straws, absolutely lovely, The fat Scamps are still warm when we get them. And go lovelybwith a cuppa so highly recommend.

Plenty of cakes and savouries for all tastes. Exactly what you would expect from Thomas. The cheese straws are always nice and a great selection of breads and take away foods too

we stopped here as one of our day trips we found Thomas the baker in the town centre they have a large variety of cakes pies and sandwiches there is also a good butcher in the same shop you can not complain about the prices either very good and not dear we found the staff friendly and helpful even the butcher who spent time talking to me as I was a butcher by trade would recommend eating from here

A great bakers with a super selection of sandwiches and much more. I had a large Prawn and egg sandwich.

Freshly baked bread is lovely. It's notable that there are queues for hot pies and sausage roles. Staff are helpful..Cakes are generous and good.

Visited Thomas’ in Helmsley to pick up to take home. The quality meat is superb and as already mentioned in previous reviews, there is a good variety of breads which have a lovely flavour. The chocolate Danish pastries are scrumptious

Got excellent fresh sandwiches, irresistible cheese straws, hot sausage rolls [very meaty], Chelsea buns and other sweet goodies for a big family picnic on the way to the beach. Couldn't be bettered.

Great selection of cakes and scones, hot and cold drinks to take away, friendly staff, well worth a visit, the window display will tempt you inside.

When on holiday we always call here,this bakery is so good.This time we tried the scones,they do different ones I had the date and walnut and cherry both lovely. Just wish this bakery would come to Lincolnshire.

We wanted a snack would it be Yorkshire Curd Cake or an Eccles Cake. We came out with 2 excellent Eccles cakes very friendly staff

I must admit I love to call here for a Chelsea Bun when I am on the Market Place. The cost of 85p is reasonable for these sweet sticky buns. Service friendly and quick what's not to like.

Se detuvo a una tienda en Pickering ayer escaparates algunos pasteles deliciosos, tuvimos que comprar algunos bien merece la pena. A cualquiera que tiene un diente dulce vale la pena una visita.

The cakes, bread, rolls and savouries are tasty and fresh. The staff are very friendly and help you choose what is bad for you! Go early because a lot of items sell out very quickly.

Called at Pickering on the way to Whitby for a couple of filled rolls as they are always freshly made. Great selection of pastries & cakes too. Good friendly service and large selection to choose from.Located on the main shopping street in the centre of Pickering.

This bakery sells beautiful bread, pies, pastries and cakes. The shop is immaculate and well presented, Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Often use this place to grab a bite to eat. Excellent pasties,sausage rolls, buns and treats. I can recommend the Yum Yums,cheese straws and Belgian iced buns. They also do fantastic caramel slice and curd tart.

A very busy local bakers shop with a wide range of goods on sale. We went in to buy a large curd tart which was delicious.

The Yorkshire curd tarts are great,but you really are spoilt for choice with the all the yummy cakes they do.especially the choclate orange bun.

If you fancy a snack to take back with you on the steam train - do try the sausage rolls. Especially the large slices with different fillings such as Pork & Chilli or Pork & Apple. Plenty for even the hungriest!

Called into the Bedale store after visiting a customer. A simple smoked ham salad ciabatta and a coffee doesn't sound like much does it?Well, this was the finest ham, fresh salad including soft boiled egg on the freshest, tastiest bread I have had in a long, long time and the coffee was gourmet class. All for under £5.I wish we had this quality further south. (North Notts)

When visiting Pickering or if you are a local like we are then the sandwiches in Thomas the Baker are very reasonably priced as are all of their savoury items. The bread is good, we buy ours daily! However, I must say that the best thing for me in the shop is their cream slice. It is by far the best I have ever tasted!

This is a very nice bakery in the centre of Scarborough with a really good selection of sweet and savory stuff. The prices are really reasonable too. I definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

Whenever we see a Thomas The Bakers we always buy a curd tart. They have a good range of products and I have noticed that several cafes use their scones and cakes, which is an endorsement in itself.

3 types of Quiche to choose from. Lovely pastry and great flavours. Free cookie with bean pasty so my veggie son well pleased

Beautiful cheese scones and date and walnut scones. Excellent brown bread. All freshly baked, an excellent treat with butter.

Arrived in Pickering early on a November morning and was pleased to see that Thomas the Baker was open. Had a lovely bacon rolls and hot drink deal just what we needed. Had lots of freshly made sandwiches and a great choice of cakes. Returned to get a couple of filled rolls to take back with us later in the day. Their mince pies are really good too. Friendly staff and service great. Plenty of car parks close by as well.

Have a really good range of sandwiches on nice quality bread. Highly recommend and very reasonably priced

The staff in Thomas' were so helpful. My toddler grandson was coming to stay and he is allergic to all dairy products and soya. The ingredients list was looked up and we found the small white farmhouse loaf was safe ! Thank you Thomas'

We always call in at Thomas the bakers, I can highly recommend their bread cakes but more so their curd tarts. They are fabulous, almost to die for.......I have never tasted one as nice...if you fancy a treat....why not!

Saw a board outside early one morning with an offer for a bacon sandwich & a hot drink for £2.45. Tried it and whty an excellent offer. Rolls were lovely and fresh, plenty of bacon and a great coffee. Rolls fresh everyday too.

Cakes were really delicious and bought a Helmsley Plum Bread to take home after being on holiday in North Yorkshire. Everything looked really good in this shop, the hardest part was trying to decide what to have!!

Just a bakers shop but nice things to pick from and take home or eat in the street . We use the MALTON shop more as you can get a take away hot drink there .

Two large sandwiches bought for around the same price as a greggs. Bread was incredible and fillings were good quality and plentiful. Mango chutney, cheese and ham wasn't something I'd normally try but actually was really good and would strongly reccomend. Partner is veggie and she was very pleased with her sandwich. Nice area to sit outside with a busker and a few benches. Would visit again in a heartbeat.

First tried their quiches in Helmsley but they have now increased their range. The mature chedder is yummy as is the ham . Sausage rolls to die for and great cakes and biscuits.

Forget the rest. This is the best bakers in Pickering. Eccles cakes are always yummy. We also enjoy the bread, chelsea buns although everything is always fresh.

Great local bakery. Get there early as they run out of a lot of things by 11:30. I don't know why they just don't cook more ! Take a bag or expect to have to pay for one, after all, this is Yorkshire !

This is a takeaway bakery shop with good sandwiches snacks and cakes unfortunately no coffee tea or hot drinks. The food is tasty and well priced.

Lovely filled rolls that you can pick up before setting out for your day out, also great cakes and cheese straws

God knows why people are reviewing this bakery as if it is a cafe or a restaurant. It is a perfectly acceptable chain bakery but on account of the fact it has no menu, no tables to sit at, no serving staff and doesn't claim to be anything other than a bakers shop, it is absolutely bonkers that it is classed on Trip Advisor as being a cafe with 'cafe' cuisine. Including this one, there are 53 'restaurants' listed in Pickering of which most are either cafes, delis, tea rooms, fish and chip shops or not actually in Pickering. Careful as you go. There are a few proper restaurants including at least one if not two great Indian's, an excellent Chinese, a posh '2 rosette' restaurant and a new small bistro that gets great marks here (but I haven't yet had the pleasure). There are also a number of pubs that serve food - some well, some not so well.

No visit to Malton or Pickering is complete without a visit to this superb bakers.From freshly ground coffee to home made cakes and pastries all served with a smile!!Must try products include their award winning sausage rolls!!

with so much freashly baked goodies on sale, the diet was forgotten. their cheese straws were warm and yummy. Their bread smelt as good as it tasted and as for their buns mmmm. But their gooseberry pie was my winner

especially your pork and apple rolls, its quite funny as when i go to the shop they tend to be sold out..also your caramel doughnuts are a hit!

what a great bakers wish their were more around we made a trip just for the chesse straws and the ginger people are worth a try

A branch of my favourite chain bakery. We don't have one where I live but I make a beeline for the savoury individual quiches which are great for lunch boxes, a tea time snack or as part of a meal with vegetables or salad. I'm not sure if you are supposed to freeze them but I have done so successfully and they just need refreshing in a hot oven. The York ham is my favourite but the tomato and spring onion good to have handy for vegetarian visitors. Of course there is a full range of other baked goods including nice bread loaves and rolls.

Very good selection of bread & cakes, but they gave up doing jam doughnuts. Why? I now buy them from the competition across the road.

The staff were cheerful and maintained a good pace to serve and at the same time didn't make you feel as if you had a time limit to order. I had a salad sandwich - the bread was lovely followed by a toffee muffin. It was gorgeous. A very filling lunch.
