Especially good carrot cake - beautifully decorated including a little marzipan carrot, and crucially, super moist. Very nice cherry & almond cake too. If I'm ever passing, will definitely stop off for something.

I visited this establishment as I drove back from Scarborough along the A64. It looked quaint and welcoming from the outside but it was far from it when I entered. The staff were clearly rushed off their feet despite there not being many customers in. The service was exceptionally slow and I waited over 45 minutes for my order to come. I felt it was over priced and of very poor quality. I won’t be back (EVER!!)

We visited here during our holiday in Whitby on our way to the Great Yorkshire Maze, as it's just off the A64 near Scarborough. We ordered afternoon tea for tea and two kids meals. I can honestly say this was one of the best afternoon teas I've had! What I liked was that you could choose the sandwich filling and there was a large choice of cakes to select 3 of, so you could pick the ones you liked. The food was really fresh and lovely. The staff were very attentive. We sat in the garden as it was a nice day. I would highly recommend if you're in the area. I hope to visit again.

We ordered Afternoon Tea to takeaway from Sally a couple of weeks ago as a treat at work. The value for money was exceptional at under £6pp. Each afternoon tea was labelled, packaged and decorated beautifully. We were able to each choose a sandwich and 3 mini cakes/tray bakes to accompany the fresh homemade scone with jam and cream. I was really impressed with the quality of the food and would not hesitate to order and/or visit again in the near future. Highly recommended

Met up here with my family who are dotted around the area. I booked a table the day before to make sure we could get in.We were seated in the front eating area rather than where the shop is located and it was very farmhousy/traditional and cosy.Service seemed a little disorganised at first and we joked about what we were each going to get but when it all came out it was correct. Loved how they just put pots of tea and rounds of toast out in the middle to help yourselves and they just brought more if you wanted it (trust me - you don't need more on top of the full English and a couple if sides!).The food was really good quality and tasty. It was an all round nice experience (shame about the group who came in with a dog that they couldn't keep from yapping but, as an animal friendly place there's not much to be done about it).We also paid a visit to the shop and bought some sweet treats for later which were delicious.

Sat in the area where the cakes and servery was situated which is cramped and a bit underwhelming. Placed our order and then found out that there was another eating area which meant going back outside into the rain and in through a different entrance. This area was much nicer but if you went straight into it you couldn't see the cakes so all in all a bit disjointed. We walked into a very full tea room (only about 4/5 tables) and thought our luck was out....but the lady in the shop advised us that the 'garden room' was open at the front of the building which had more tables. The lady came to light the 'patio' heater and this was certainly needed as it was very cold and maybe should have gone on a little earlier, but the room then very quickly filled up with more people....We ordered the January special of soup and a cheese scone with onion relish, which was very tasty and warming. We had bought a Groupon voucher for breakfast for two here, we popped in today whilst on our way from Leeds to Scarborough. There is plenty of parking right outside the restaurant, we sat at a table of our choice - there are only four tables but there are others in the garden room. We both ordered the full breakfast and asked for the bacon to be well done, the breakfast comes with coffee or tea and toast. The coffee was delivered in a big pot so there was enough for over two cups each. The breakfast came and it looked very appetising, the bacon and sausage was well done and the whole meal was delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we would highly recommend eating here, in fact we will eat here again without a voucher as we think £8 for the breakfast, coffee and toast is very reasonable for the high quality and great taste. The bakery section has a wide variety of jams, chutneys and pastries as well as fresh and frozen meat and produce.

On the side of the A64 this farm based bakery and tea room/cafe sells wonderful cakes and biscuits - all home made, jams and chutneys. Everything is baked by the bakery on site and you can sit inside or out to have breakfast, lunch, or just a drink and a cake. A wonderful place to stop and you know it is all fresh.

We called here for lunch on our way home from Scarborough. We had the October special of steak and mushroom sandwich. It was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the horseradish sauce and will definitely be calling in for another jar next Time we pass.

We found this Little coffee shop and bakery on the A64. Great place. Clean and friendly but small and cosy. The food was really nice and well cooked. All in all a really great place.

We have been going to this lovely little gem of place for a number of years, we have always stopped here when we are on our frequent visits to the east coast. The bacon sandwiches are delicious with the added side salad a onion relish. The staff are always very friendly. We called today with my father, he is 90 today, and Sally gave us an extra special welcome. It,s well worth the trip that we make from Barnsley. I would definitely recommend it, and know that it won't be long before we return.
