Having just moved to the area it was recommended that my partner and I visit for brunch, what an experience, from The moment we arrived to leaving I can only class it as a fantastic experience, the welcome, ease of ordering , ambience and quality of food was 2nd to non. The brunch , plentiful, piping hot and perfectly presented, the coffees to die for. It’s a must visit

Great for pop in and break, live relatively nearby (filey) but had forgotten about this hidden gem off the A64 just before or after Trotters butchers/antiques - signs say bakery but great little tea room not terribly big so limited seating. All snacks hand prepared but very friendly and attentive staff. Also sells take outs and bread etc.

Really disappointed as tea room sounded lovely but felt it lacked service with a smile and lunch was poor. First impressions were not great no smiles or how can we help . Just no hot food available we were told. We spent 27 pounds on a cheese toastie , 2 blt sandwiches and 2 pops and 1 slice of quiche which was a bit steep for yorkshire . The blt had the hardest slice of bacon was like plastic and bit tight one Tiny piece for nearly 7 quid just wow. Bread roll was small too struggled to fill my squaddie partner. My advice drive on by as overpriced and poor service . Paid less had better.

We have just been for a drive out, pulling into Sally Middlewood tea room. We purchased 2 scones with jam and butter 1 latte & 1 cup of tea for £12.50. The scones arrived. They were nothing like the ones Sally shows on her picture.(very misleading) They were the smallest scones I have seen, being 2inches across by 1 inch deep. I did mention this to a member of staff who did not apologise. She just said that she would pass this on. My recommendation to anyone would be to drive on by this place.

Met up here with my family who are dotted around the area. I booked a table the day before to make sure we could get in.We were seated in the front eating area rather than where the shop is located and it was very farmhousy/traditional and cosy.Service seemed a little disorganised at first and we joked about what we were each going to get but when it all came out it was correct. Loved how they just put pots of tea and rounds of toast out in the middle to help yourselves and they just brought more if you wanted it (trust me - you don't need more on top of the full English and a couple if sides!).The food was really good quality and tasty. It was an all round nice experience (shame about the group who came in with a dog that they couldn't keep from yapping but, as an animal friendly place there's not much to be done about it).We also paid a visit to the shop and bought some sweet treats for later which were delicious.

Decent choice of food available however we ordered pie mash Mushy peas and gravy. Only had 1 pie (so got a pasty as there was 2 of us) Mash was made from a jacket potato it was very lumpy tinned peas over blasted in the microwave served with a smile however forgot the gravy and it arrived half way through us eating the meal. Sadly this place could be a little gold mine if run correctly and proper attention to detail applied with the food. We hafmd our lunch at 12.15 so there was no way they could have ran out of mash? Could do better really

Booked the brewery tour package from Red Letter days. The tour was very informative with Josh being a fountain of knowledge and obviously loving brewing and beer. His witty remarks and low key humour really made the tour enjoyable. The beer tasting in the bar was flexible and offered a pint taken eith as a pint, two halves or a flight of 3, third pints to enable a range to be tried! Although a small brewery they have some quite advanced mechanisation for bottling, canning and casking! Very impressed,

A lovely friendly bakery, just one wee table to sit and and have a coffee and observe the comings and goings of the regulars, the holiday makers and day trippers. Bread and cakes wonderful, a lovely lady owns this place and I wish her well!

Really friendly and tasty fare. Plenty of choice which was a real representation of good Yorkshire fare. Reasonably priced too
