The pub/hotel is on the High Street, a few minutes walk to all the shops, restaurants and other pubs in Moreton-in-Marsh. We had a four-poster double room (no.3) on the first floor. Although quite compact, it had almost everything needed for our one-night stay. The bed was very comfortable, and a fan and oil heater were provided. The double-glazing was very efficient so the room was quiet even though it overlooked a busy road. The shower room was huge, with a powerful shower, lots of hot water, fluffy towels and a bathrobe. There was a kettle with tea etc and biscuits, but we couldn't work out how to use the Nespresso machine. There were enough sockets for our chargers. The breakfast choice was extensive and the food really excellent (best cheese omelette I have had in years; my husband's full veggie breakfast was also good). There is a small car park, although there is free parking on the high street anyway. The pub/hotel garden looked pretty, but it was raining, so we didn't try it.

The venue was authentic and interesting with easy parking. We had a very disappointing main meal. The starter: white bate was delicious. The main meal: Liver and Bacon consisted of mashed potato, with tough seared liver and a slice of dried out bacon perched on top. I recommend avoiding this option!

This could be a five star experience if customers weren’t rushed out. We know we would be asked to leave at 90 minutes going in, but this should be a two hour or two hour and 15 minutes experience. We enjoyed the food, tea, and cocktails, but I will seek a different location for tea next time.

This should have been a 5 Star Review, but on our last night the hotel had an Open Mic Jazz Night which was pretty loud. That might have reduced it to 4 Stars overall. However I went downstairs to close the through-door from the stairwell/Reception area to the kitchen which was funneling the noise up to the rooms. Unfortunately the door was jammed OPEN and I couldn't move it - and it had a plate on it saying Fire Door Keep Shut. I can't give zero Stars so I'm afraid it gets a no-brainer 1 Star.

Warm welcome. Best Sunday roast I have had, ever. The beef was not chewy but absolutely delicious. Roast potatoes cooked to perfection and the veg cooked as it should be (not over cooked which is rare when eating out!). All this for £10.99. Highly recommended and Liam thank you for looking after us.

The Rising Sun is under new ownership and I’m pleased to see it seems on the way back to its former glory. The pub is undergoing some much needed renovations. We had a really good meal there and very enjoyable evening, the menu isn’t huge but what was on offer cooked well and very good quality. All washed down with an equally good bottle of Malbec.

We had a lovely lunch with friends here today. Table service very good and all staff that attended to us were excellent. Not the cheapest meal but good value. We enjoyed steak as well as other mains. We all enjoyed our puddings. Excellent red wine and we thought the gardens looked great for a good weather day.

We’ve just returned from a fantastic evening work gathering. It was yet another wonderful meet-up with Buddy and the Flying Fish team. The food was absolutely delicious, The atmosphere was amazing, And the owners are the friendliest, most customer-focused people you could hope to meet. It’s easy to say this is our favorite spot for a Sunday roast or an evening meal. We’re already looking forward to sunny, warm days when we can fully enjoy the stunning views and the excellent beer garden. Highly recommended to everyone!

Unfortunately this is not like me but I'm afraid I have to give this place a very low rating, they had no draught ales at all just said arriving soon, the place absolutely stinks of dogs and the gents toilets are absolutely disgusting the smell was overpowering, the barman must be the most miserable person in the world and is quite rude, this is the second time I've been in the pub but I'm afraid it will be my last, not a pleasant experience, it's a shame as the place has so much potential

We booked for lunch at The Stag. Unfortunately the outside is in need of some loving, compared to the old pictures, but the inside is lovely and rustic. It is only a small place with big tables, so we recommend booking. The food was lovely. We’re both vegetarians, but one of us doesn’t have dairy either and this place catered for us. In fact they went out of their way to double check or offer something else, for the more awkward of us.. everything was cooked to perfection and tasted lovely. I had the sherry trifle (it definitely had sherry in). This place also allows dogs. The staff were friendly and even offered to run us somewhere, if we couldn’t get a taxi. We would return here, if we’re ever in the area again.
