3 of us went today for 2 Sunday lunches and a fish and chips. It was absolutely disappointing and to be sure will not be going back. The chap who saw us to the table was friendly enough the staff were polite. The food if that's what you could call it was awful the roast beef was as tough as old boots with more fat than meat. The lamb roast was tough meat also vegetables on both roasts were over cooked and had all the goodness gone from them. The fish on the other hand was really nice apart from the chips that were dry as a bone. When told about it the reply was sorry about that. This is no way to treat customers not even a refund for part of it. NOT RECOMMENDED save your money.

We held a joint 60/80 party here and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff are brilliant and extremely helpful from all correspondence to the night. We had about 30 ppl for a small do and they were brilliant letting us come earlier even though half of our party did end up staying to the late! The food was exceptional the steak ale pie was devine and had our guests talking about it for weeks after! Compliments to the chef! Lovely party area, when decorated with balloons and banners it was a really good atmosphere, the bar were happy to play music on Spotify all night. Really spacious and just a really lovely evening. Great hospitality. Deffo worth considering for a function.

One of the best coffees I’ve had for ages. Very balanced - friendly service. A great place to stop for a coffee

Very slow service, young man seems to have no idea what's going on...drinks took an age to arrive and coffee wasnt hot. Food order was wrong when it finally arrived. The Cafe smelt heavily of greasy cooking smells, as the seating area has very poor or none existent ventilation. The floor, tables and general areas need a deep clean. Very disappointing, which is a real shame because the food is very good.

The two of us chose the carvery for lunch. Never again. The portion of meat was miniscule and low in quality. It looked like the meat from Farm Foods. No beef or lamb. The veg was served to you rather than help yourself, thankfully!! The veg was either rock hard or mush. The whole meal was luke warm. Very low quality overall. Best thing was the staff, smart and professional.

After storm Eowyn in late January 2025, we were left without power for over 24 hours. I could hear water at home but my phone kept dying. I was told the barista cafe in Wigton was allowing people affected by the power cut to charge their phones. I called in and don’t like being in public places due to social anxiety but the staff were very friendly and accommodating to me when they knew I was affected by the power cut. The place was clean, warm, tidy and the staff were run off their feet but stayed chirpy and polite, nothing too much of a fuss. I was able to find a small quiet table where I could charge my phone and was given a really nice cup of tea. I like to give praise where it’s due and always have. I’ve lived in the area for years and never ventured into the barista cafe before but certainly will in the future. You realise who is worth your time and effort in the world these days and the barista cafe absolutely gets my vote and recommendations. Thank you barista cafe Wigton for being so welcoming, kind and helpful during this cold spell and storm season. ❤️

I went for lunch for my first time. I was not disappointed. Jane ,Alli, and Donna did a superb job looking after us..we both had the BLT toasted sandwich and a side of home made chips (highly recommended) ,a fresh, homemade scone with jam and clotted cream and a pot of tea for two. Garden Centre Cafes are notorious for over charging, but not here..an absolute delightful visit. We will be back for more. Do yourselves a favour, go check it out. Support Local.

Arrived with my two kids & was told it was booked out for the next two hours. Checked the website to book for later in the day & every slot was able to be booked. So I booked & was told "we would just cancel" the booking. Disgraceful
