I stumbled on this delightful treasure by chance. I'm vegan and my friend is a meat eater. I ordered a vegan dish and my friend had chicken. The meal.was stupendous the service was quick and very friendly. The owner chatted with us the other customers were all so happy to get their meal they chatted. It was fantastic. The chicken and curry goat looked and smelled so delicious I was tempted to give up my veganism. Undoubtedly the best Caribbean 👌 eatery in Manchester providing authentic Caribbean food with the British service ( quick and friendly) Oh and can I just mention the dumplins and the Sorrel. Eat and Sweet ditch the takeaway get a resteraunt.😂 I would love at least 1 vegan dish daily that is also authentically Caribbean even if its soup this would be a game changer as more and more people don't eat meat. Ackee and chick pea or callaloo on its own or with ackee . CHICK Pea curry oyster fried mushrooms .....maybe on 1 particular day of the week.

I had wanted to come here for a long time but felt it was disappointing. I had the truffle burger which had far too much mayo in & not a lot of flavour. My partner had the chilli burger which was a lot nicer. We felt the prices were too high given what you got (£15 for a burger only - we felt it wouldn’t be a huge overhead to throw some chips on the plate for that price given the prices in the rest of the city). Service was okay but not overly friendly. It’s also a little confusing upon entering as the sign above the door says Hinterland. I’d be hard pressed to return given the choice.

Came upon this great cafe while on a day trip to Carlisle, from our weeks holiday in Keswick. Food was excellent - we had ham hero sandwich, bbq panini, bacon Brie panini and gorgeous homemade soup. All tasty- the side salad with the sarny was best side salad I’ve had after a week of cafes lunches in lakes. Nice friendly service🙂

Blanchard’s coffee lived up to the hype! We visited from out of town, and we stopped by twice. Our first trip to the cafe, we ordered a bottomless drip coffee, a cappuccino with oat milk and a chocolate chip cookie to stay and sit. We enjoyed a window seat with our young child, who enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and booth seating. We were there on a Friday morning, so I noticed a lot of people working remotely from the shop. We visited again on our way out of town, and enjoyed our same coffee order again with a delicious muffin. 10/10 would recommend. Update (Nov 2024): Came back a few years later and still delighted with my experience. They expanded the seating space to include more indoor and outdoor seating. I really enjoyed my seasonal latte and a taste of their holiday blend.

We recently visited, and it was a fantastic experience! My partner, who loves Italian food, was thrilled with the authentic menu, while I was pleased to find some great gluten-free pasta options. The pasta was absolutely delicious, though you can’t make modifications to the dishes, so be sure to choose carefully! I had a coffee, which was smooth and well-made, though only oat and regular milk were available, and I didn’t spot any dairy-free dessert options. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making for a pleasant meal. If you’re planning to go with a large group, I’d recommend booking in advance, as it can get busy. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and we’re definitely planning to return! (££)
