I went to no.90 for Sunday lunch with family. On arrival, we received a warm welcome from Maxine.
There is a set menu Sunday lunch, and it was so hard to decide what to have as I fancied all the dishes on there! After a delicious starter,
I went for the roast beef dinner, which was superb!
I do not think you could get a better Sunday lunch that gives you the choice and price and the personal service from the owners anywhere else in the area. Must also give a mention to the lovely young man who was also serving, very polite and professional.
From start to finish, they have this so right.
If you are in the area, it's well worth a visit
Many thanks for a great experience .
Having been given a voucher for this cruise as a gift, we weren't sure what to expect. My husband made the booking over the phone and immediately commented on how friendly and helpful the lady was who helped with our booking. We turned up on a very frosty morning and stood viewing the ice on the water! We were boarded at 11.45 and shown to our allocated table. The boat was duly decked out with Christmas decorations and for the whole cruise we were regaled with Christmas songs. The food (which we had ordered from the menu prior to the cruise) was really delicious and we considered ours to be ample portions. Above all, the service was amazing and the staff worked tirelessly. It appeared that everything ran like clockwork and at the end of the cruise we considered it a lovely way to spend about 3 hours. The price paid was really good value for money and this canal cruise is now firmly on our 'To Do' list for 2020.
We had another great Vietnamese meal at Viet Bowl. The summer rolls are a favourite starter. The pho and pho xao were first rate. Service was welcoming, friendly and very efficeint. It is less expensive than many restaurants in Wilmslow. We would recommend it highly - and often do. We don't understand why it wasn't busier - on a mid-week evening only three tables were occupied. We are looking forward to going back.
Visited 25th April with friend for two mini afternoon teas with cream about £12 each so £24 approx. It was chaos as new waitress with very little English trying to take order.. Another friend had now joined us for pot of tea and scone with butter/jam only as going out to dinner later. An older lady ended up taking our order. I had recently come out of hospital and later taken ill at cafe and in such pain had to leave before having intended doing so. I was in tears and being that it was a treat for my friends asked to settle bill which told by same lady was £37. I was in such pain that I did not realise it was too much so just said to round up to £40 to include tip. I realised the next day that I must have been charged for three mini afternoon teas as some £24 for 2 plus pot of tea and scone would not have made it £37. I rang the mobile no. on website on 26th April and left message but no call back so left two further messages last week but just ignored rather than calling back to apologise, admit over charge and put right by way of refund or possibly offered credit note to spend at future visit should I wish to return.
I was clearly upset at cafe finding it difficult to manage food and taking cake with me but that ignored too and no way it could not have been noticed when settling bill with same person who eventually took our order. It seemed settling bill was the only interest.
It had to be cancelled due to being taken ill but had met at Mirrie Dancer as only a couple of doors away from The Works for hair so taxi brought me across there and would take me home after hair after as recently broken vertebrae so unable to walk more than few steps. All very upsetting and disappointing.
Great pub, proper local..super friendly staff, great beer, food is to die for..Sunday lunch is a bargain for the portion size!!! Regular bands and karaoke amongst things.
Can't recommend highly enough!!!
Up,out and about on a beautiful but bitterly cold February morning my twin brother and I were exploring around this part of the city when we dropped into Olawa Bakery .
A great looking bakery ,interior is neat and tidy, glass fronted serving counters showcase the goodies on offer and staff here are superb.
We got a cherry cake each ,these were absolutely delicious, so tasty, just the sugar rush we needed to set us up for a planned walk along and around the historic Roman Walls of Chester ,loved the cakes here ,its not hard to see why this bakery it's so popular .
Olawa Bakery is easy to locate along Brook Street.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Friday, 7am till 5.30pm.
Saturday, 8am till 4pm.
Sunday, closed.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area
Wraysholme Farm, Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands LA11 7LZ England, England
We happened upon Wraysholme creamery while out on a family bike ride and I am so glad we did, the ice cream was amazing! It is the best I've ever had and my son agreed 👍.
To top it off the farmer was so welcoming and friendly and invited my son to bottle feed some lambs, the staff in the cafe were also brilliant with my allergy and took time to check ingredients and help me to find something suitable.
Wraysholme creamery is a beautiful picturesque setting, just perfect on a nice day ❤️
I highly recommend.
