Came for lunch after a freezing rainy windy section of the C2C and the staff could not have been more lovely, they lit us a fire to dry our things and fed us very well- cannot thank them enough! Would highly recommend the food too!

Excellent food, chicken, leek and Portobello mushroom pie was delicious as was the fish and chips. Very friendly staff, will certainly revisit.

Great afternoon had on my day off at the Ship & Royal, thoroughly enjoyed the Katsu loaded fries as recommended by Dave Dave is a legend, we need more Dave's in the pub trade and a credit to Greene King. Thankyou Dave.

Faultless from start to finish. Lovely welcome and friendly service. Excellent menu and knowledge of allergens, very easy for Gluten Free diners to get delicious and safe food. Game Pudding was so packed full of meat and really tasty, and the Chicken Parmigiana was also superb. Big portions so you’ll not go home hungry, worth forgoing a starter to indulge in some lovely desserts. Crumble and custard was superb. Brilliant all round, can’t wait to return.

We stumbled upon this pub during a day out and decided to pop in for lunch. Surprisingly, it was quite empty, which is baffling given how tasty the food was! We opted for the tapas, and every dish was delicious. The staff were really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend this place based on my visit.

Very nice place, ordered 1 large sausage but they said they were out, so gave me FOUR small sausages? I'm not complaining! Ordered chips, Irish Curry and a cuppa tea as well, 8 quid for all that isnt half bad. One thing I would say is due to the front door being left open, the smell from someone outside on their ciggy break wafted into the chippy, thankfully it went away within a few minutes.

We have been ordering from here for a couple of years and never had any issues via the app. This time we popped in on the way from home after phoning first. And wow. Super friendly staff, and most importantly spotlessly clean.

Have ordered from here ( delivery )for months now and food always been delicious however the past two orders have been very disappointing ( both fish ) the batter on the fish was very overcooked . Maybe new staff but not up to their usual very high standards. Will continue to order for now but if this happens again will be going elsewhere

Used to be my go to Chinese until they added the minimum £15 charge to order and have it delivered plus the £2 delivery on top!

It was a good experience to visit the pub with a pint of Staropramen. I heard that this place is a traditional old English pub located in the historic Cains brewery building.
