The best restaurants serving British food in North West

Food was very nice. Coffee excellent when I asked for another shot of coffee to add to my flat white.unfoetunatrly the seat coverings were filthy. So it makes me wonder how clean yhe kitchen is.

Always friendly, descent price for beer, food always good. Price very reasonable

Enjoyed a lovely lunch and Guinness in the sun watching the ducks. Both very nice meals (and Guinness!) and a very friendly lady working the bar. Thanks! (Hot Dog and Steak sarnie).

We had my husbands 40th Birthday Party on the 12th April 2025, the food was delicious ! All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and the ambiance of the venue ! We had a mixture of hot and cold buffet. A big thank you to Tom and Paul who helped with setting up 🌟

terrible steak!!! I asked for medium well. They served me PTSD from my Eastern European childhood. Pretty sure this cow spent its last hours soaking in borscht, not sizzling on a grill.My mate ordered chicken it wasn’t as terrible as the cow, but if I choose between this place and spoons I would go to spoons or maccies, but definitely not this restaurant. Also they gave my mate a slice of orange in the glass but not to me. What a discrimination, unbelievable…

Fell across this pub after taking a wrong turn looking for somewhere else, new to the area needed a break from the unpacking! What a pleasant surprise, firstly, staff very approachable and friendly, made us feel very welcome. Our meals were lovely, so much so we had dessert. Thank you so very much, we will be back very soon ❤️❤️

Just before we arrived at costa we went to Greggs to buy a sousage roll for doughter. Once we walked in to Costa Missus stayed in queue while i went to toilet and daughter took a seat. We did not plan to stay at costa but just imagine that some women who work at costa approched my 7 year old daughter and said to her, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EAT GREGGS IN HERE, SORRY. Sousage roll was just on table unpacked, she was just waiting for me and missus. Just imagine, 7 YEAR OLD KID. Instead of talking to her parents, woman decided to challenge a 7 year old girl.

They don't sell food herebut if you're into live music, this is the place to go, we had a great night here last night, the music was excellent, and we will defo be returning!

We came in to watch the darts on Thursday. Great time had by myself and friends. Good service, excellent boddingtons. Just nice and friendly

New owner is now well and truly settled in. Had a change of chef recently and to say it was for the better. Menu has extra items food is better than ever. They really have worked hard to get this place on its feet. Fridays after work in the sun with a cold beer and amazing staff. The girls are happy to do anything for you. Get yourself down see for yourself.

Been calling here for many years when coming back from Southport love this little pub it’s a pity I don’t live closer

What a cracking town pub this is. Since Steve and his team took over just under a year ago joined with an extensive refurb the place has just gone from strength to strength. Whether it’s live sport, karaoke, live music, disco night or just a quiet family drink there’s rarely a week that passes where the George fails to deliver. To top it off it’s probably the cheapest bar in town too. Keep up the good work a credit to the Kendal pub scene.

Breakfast is really good for the price. Great atmosphere as it was full of Liverpool fans before the last game of the season.
