Asked for a 250ml rose wine with ice. Barman filled glass with ice then put wine in. He couldn't understand when my husband said put the 250ml wine in first as you are short measuring me. In the end my husband asked for the 250ml wine and then for separate ice. Good job trading standards weren't there but how many other people has this barman conned.

My twin brother and I had a great afternoon out in this Wetherspoon pub ,its a pub I've visited many times over the years, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. A great looking Wetherspoon pub, set over two floors, great serving bar's on both floors, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling shopping streets around this pub . We were here on a Monday afternoon, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we luckily managed to get an alcove table upstairs, as we are both members of C.A.M.R.A we are allocated real ale tokens which entitle you to 50p of the price of a pint of real ale and as everyone knows Wetherspoon always has a great selection of real ales. We enjoyed three great real ale's each here ,ale's from Greene King Brewery, Saltaire Brewery and Sharps Brewery, served in pristine condition, such great real ale's, loved them all as did my brother ,we had an absolutely fantastic time in here before we moved on,can't wait to go again next time we're in Liverpool City Centre, its a pub easy to locate along Whitechapel and open from 8am Monday to Sunday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

THIS PUB ..ONLY ONE that finishes the 5 inch high glass with 1 inch of foamy head. Chicken Tikka was smaller with 7 bits of chicken..My wife had to return her meal served up warm to cold .After leaving saw many other bars serving cheaper beer. Came into Welkin Liverpool 27th August 2024. I complained about the jacket potato I ordered, it was absolutely disgusting. The response I got from staff when I complained was diabolical. The coke I had was watered down too, I will never eat in any of these pubs again. I was told that the potato was edible and if the waiter sent it back to kitchen they would just send it back to me. I have read awful reviews and seems nothing is done about complaints. Waiters and waitresses need to have lessons in politeness here were so rude.

Before starting a week's holiday in the beautiful Spanish city of Seville my twin brother and I decided to have a day out in Liverpool City Centre visiting some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, the first pub we visited was The Welkin Pub. This is a great Wetherspoon pub, its set over two floors, great looking serving bar's on both floors, typical Wetherspoon decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets that make up the Cavern Quarter of Liverpool. We got here about 9am, even at this time the pub was busy with a good atmosphere, we opted for the unlimited tea and coffee option, we luckily managed to get an alcove table upstairs were we enjoyed tea's,coffee's and hot chocolate's ,it was really good planning out the day ahead while enjoying our hot drinks, couldn't fault anything about our visit here, can't wait to go again next time we're in Liverpool City Centre after our week's holiday in Seville. Popped into The Welkin for a drink before going to the Cavern club whilst on a weekend break. It’s situated around the corner from the Cabern club and in the centre of the shopping area of Liverpool. In a way it’s much like many other spoons I’ve been in but the difference is the staff. The place was spotless and as soon as someone left the table was cleared and cleaned. No big piles on one table like you see in many. Food seemed to be being served in a good timeframe. Would be a good place to have a few drinks before a show or gig.

I went to nearby Flanagan's Apple on Mathew Street on Sunday, where I had a perfect Irish/English traditional breakfast. I wanted to go there again this morning, but it was closed for breakfast due to kitchen issues. I reluctantly went around the corner to another pub, Wetherspoon, which was more modern but without character, and leagues lower in quality, thus extremely unsatisfying, like we were sent to prison instead of a restaurant. Everything was overcooked and tasteless, and they offered only the most pedestrian white bread. There's no service to speak of, though the people who work here are friendly.

Another great point about this Wetherspoons is the staff. The manager is called John and he is exceptional. His manner in dealing with customers and staff is so professional. If you like your craft like me, they only have a few at a time, but the pull is good and stock rotates every couple days. They won't be beaten on price anywhere in Merseyside to my knowledge and division into halves or thirds are no extra cost to you. Cheers!

However, our drinks tasted like they had forgot to put the alcohol in... we were disappointed. I'd rather have lukewarm food and the drinks right haha, you don't go to Spoons for the perfect meal but you do usually go for the drink to be right.

First ever visit here, we came as a family of four to meet friends. The food was lovely, but the choices on the menu were very limited. I ordered a starter and two sides because there were no mains that I fancied. The side salad I ordered was very boring and there wasn't much to it. However the soup was delicious (although no one sent a spoon with it), as were the skin on fries. Pretty much everyone enjoyed their meal. Our table was nicely laid out and the atmosphere was good. The bathroom needs some attention, of the five toilets, two were out of order. The one I used had no handle to open the door so I had to use the hook to get out. For me the main issue was parking. I have never in my life had to pay for parking at a restaurant. We spent almost £250 but still had to pay. Between us it was only £7 to park, but that's just not the point and I actually think it's wrong to charge. There was also nowhere to park as it was full and we had to drive around in ongoing circles before we abandoned the car in a side bit. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for the parking alone, as there are better places to eat with free parking.
