Leffe Blonde .AVOID !!! it's FAR FAR from both the same beer served at other Spoons pubs ( been to 5 others whilst driving around the North) .I KNOW I TASTED ..I also had a Belgium home for 12 years the place where this beer was created. £5.08 a pint ( £5.72 the night before in Durham£5.67 in Barrow). THIS PUB ..ONLY ONE that finishes the 5 inch high glass with 1 inch of foamy head. Chicken Tikka was smaller with 7 bits of chicken..My wife had to return her meal served up warm to cold .After leaving saw many other bars serving cheaper beer. AVOID .as standards are lower and prices have gone up .

Came into Welkin Liverpool 27th August 2024. I complained about the jacket potato I ordered, it was absolutely disgusting. The response I got from staff when I complained was diabolical. The coke I had was watered down too, I will never eat in any of these pubs again. I was told that the potato was edible and if the waiter sent it back to kitchen they would just send it back to me. I have read awful reviews and seems nothing is done about complaints. Waiters and waitresses need to have lessons in politeness here were so rude.

Before starting a week's holiday in the beautiful Spanish city of Seville my twin brother and I decided to have a day out in Liverpool City Centre visiting some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, the first pub we visited was The Welkin Pub. This is a great Wetherspoon pub, its set over two floors, great looking serving bar's on both floors, typical Wetherspoon decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets that make up the Cavern Quarter of Liverpool. We got here about 9am, even at this time the pub was busy with a good atmosphere, we opted for the unlimited tea and coffee option, we luckily managed to get an alcove table upstairs were we enjoyed tea's,coffee's and hot chocolate's ,it was really good planning out the day ahead while enjoying our hot drinks, couldn't fault anything about our visit here, can't wait to go again next time we're in Liverpool City Centre after our week's holiday in Seville. The Welkin Pub is easy to locate along Whitechapel in the famous Cavern Quarter district of Liverpool. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 8am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Top value food and super cheap guinness 0.0 prices. The locals are lovely and there is no karaoke which is a real rarity in Liverpool these days, so you can avoid hearing the screeching sounds of great songs being murdered by semi comatose stag/hen/just released from prison parties, which is the soundtrack for the rest of Liverpool City centre.

Popped into The Welkin for a drink before going to the Cavern club whilst on a weekend break. It’s situated around the corner from the Cabern club and in the centre of the shopping area of Liverpool. In a way it’s much like many other spoons I’ve been in but the difference is the staff. The place was spotless and as soon as someone left the table was cleared and cleaned. No big piles on one table like you see in many. Food seemed to be being served in a good timeframe. Would be a good place to have a few drinks before a show or gig.

I went to nearby Flanagan's Apple on Mathew Street on Sunday, where I had a perfect Irish/English traditional breakfast. I wanted to go there again this morning, but it was closed for breakfast due to kitchen issues. I reluctantly went around the corner to another pub, Wetherspoon, which was more modern but without character, and leagues lower in quality, thus extremely unsatisfying, like we were sent to prison instead of a restaurant. Everything was overcooked and tasteless, and they offered only the most pedestrian white bread. There's no service to speak of, though the people who work here are friendly.

Up,out and about on a beautiful sunny July morning, my twin brother and I decided to jump the train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre to visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, one of the first pubs we visited was The Welkin Pub. This is a big city centre Wetherspoon pub, interior is superb, set over two floors, a serving bar on both floors, typical Wetherspoon decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside, its just a great pub to unwind in. We ordered a breakfast each and the unlimited tea and coffee offer ,coffee was superb and quite a big choice, cappuccinos was delicious ,after a short wait and breakfasts arrived and what a treat, eggs, bacon ,sausage, hash browns, beans ,tomato and mushroom served with toast ,a perfect start to our day out . We really enjoyed our breakfasts and coffee's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Welkin Pub we had a great time. The Welkin Pub is easy to locate along Whitechapel. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 8am till 11.30pm. Friday & Saturday, 8am till 1am. Sunday, 8am till 11.30pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I visit Liverpool every Friday and I always call in to the Welkin either for breakfast or a couple of bottles of Desperado. The Welkin is a fantastic place to visit. The breakfasts are served hot and fast and are very good value. I always order a couple of Desperado and they are always ice cold which is not always the case everywhere! Another great point about this Wetherspoons is the staff. The manager is called John and he is exceptional. His manner in dealing with customers and staff is so professional. The staff are highly motivated and happy which creates a nice atmosphere for customers. I could not speak more highly of the Welkin, John and the lovely staff.

Been in quite a few times to take advantage of the guest ales being so cheap, usually dealt with Lindsay (sorry, unsure on spelling) who is always very receptive and attentive without being false or overbearing, very refreshing and a standout experience compared to other Wetherspoons branches in the city whenever I decide to come in for a tipple. If you like your craft like me, they only have a few at a time, but the pull is good and stock rotates every couple days. They won't be beaten on price anywhere in Merseyside to my knowledge and division into halves or thirds are no extra cost to you. Cheers!

Not my favourite Spoons. If you go, I'd recommend sitting upstairs, it seems cleaner. Downstairs is messy. The toilets are clean. The staff seemed moody. I was polite and asked where the toilets were, I got an arsey response as if I should know when I couldn't see any signs. The food was HOT, fab. However, our drinks tasted like they had forgot to put the alcohol in... we were disappointed. I'd rather have lukewarm food and the drinks right haha, you don't go to Spoons for the perfect meal but you do usually go for the drink to be right.

Excellent food fayre that gives good quality and value for those frequenting it. Went for breakfast and between all the dishes we got for nine of us there wasn’t one bad one. From large veggie breaky to eggs Benedict the food was good and cooked perfectly. Staff were courteous and efficient and really wanted to help which in this day and age of often mediocre service was quite refreshing. The Welkin is a cozy restaurant with plenty of space, and where you can also sit upstairs with nice cozy corners and seats. There is an extensive menu choice and extremely friendly service. Things work a little differently here than in Holland. Here you order at the bar, after you have provided your table number, your menu and drinks... and then you wait at your table until it is brought.
