Excellent, fresh Caribbean food, huge portions and reasonable prices. Had the fried and jerk chicken dinners, loads of rice, good veggies and the chicken was juicy and tender but full of flavour.

Ahora encontré mi ir a jamaicana para llevar. ¿Por qué acabo de descubrir este lugar? Personal amigable. Tenía la gran porción de cabra al curry y llena de sabor muy tierna y jugosa. No puedo esperar para probar otra cosa. Muy recomendable.

Came down from London for the day and tbh this might be the best yard food takeaway I've had in the whole UK! Ackee & Saltfish dinner was wonderful. Generous portions, highly recommend!

Eat and sweet is by far the best Carribbean food place in Manchester hands down. I visited a number of Carribbean food places and the quality of food, the quantity and the customer service is unrivalled. If you're looking for authentic Carribbean food in town, only Eat and Sweet can offer that at a reasonable price. I struggled to find another place that can match them anywhere else in Manchester when they closed for a few weeks. That was a very long few weeks for me. Big up Eat n Sweets keep rising.

I enjoyed a lovely goat curry during my visit to Öl micro-brewery at The Hatch in Manchester. The servers were two very nice women who made the time for a little talk. The curry was delicious and exceeded my expectations for a pop-up establishment. Would definitely recommend to friends and family for a perfectly spiced dish in a lovely atmosphere.

Easily the best Caribbean in town, so much better than the imposter based across the street. I can not tell you how much I enjoyed my lunch today. I will be back again soon for some more tender and succulent curried Goat.

Può andare bene per un pasto veloce se siete di passaggio, gustoso e sostanzioso. Carne, riso, il tutto molto condito. Unico appunto, la ragazza che ci ha serviti.. simpatia portami via!

I went to eat and sweet for lunch during work. Nice quick service. The steam veg is perfect and the portion size is very generous. Seriously this is the best Caribbean place i have tried in the city centre of Manchester, they should take over Turtle Bay and open a restaurant chain!

Hidden away close to the Arndale. I wish I'd noticed Eat 'n' Sweet earlier. Just to point out there are only four bar seats here so this is more a takeaway than a restaurant. We were served by Dean who was really friendly and allowed us to try the ackee and salt fish dish. We went for the jerk chicken in the end which was probably the tastiest we've had. £6 for a great portion with rice and peas and some cooked veg. £7 for an even bigger portion. 2 very happy customers.

Volveremos.

Marian couldn't be more helpful in catering for a small party we held at our office. We wanted to order in authentic Caribbean cuisine because the gathering was to celebrate the birthday of a Jamaican colleague. She loved it and and said she regularly eats from here because it tastes the 'real deal'. We can't wait for her birthday next year when we'll definitely call in the help of Marian and her cooks again.

Our favourite Caribbean outlet has re-opened in Manchester City Center a stone's throw away from Arndle. Could not turn up the chance to get our fix of Curried Goat and Fried Chicken, as always when they where in Burnage, the taste is sensational. YOU MUST EAT HERE, I am really happy Eat&Sweet has re-opened.

Being an ex resident of Jamaica, one of the many things I miss is the food. I was heading to Manchester and checked out TripAdvisor for Caribbean food. On reading the previous review I decided to visit Eat & Sweet. I went mid afternoon and tried out the beef patties which were good. Maybe not quite up there with Tastee Patties in Kingston, but pretty good. Service was friendly and the place looks clean. It is take away only, which I didn't realise, so ended up eating in my car. The same evening I went back again and tried the curried goat which was really good. Served with Jamaican rice and peas, and vegetables, all for £6. They have quite a wide menu, and if my stay in Manchester had been longer I would have been back to try the jerk chicken and other stuff, but next day I was off home.

I tried Jamaican food years ago in Birmingham and whilst not blown away, thought I would give it another go. When I moved to the area and saw this place it provided a good opportunity to do so. You can see that it's clean and scores on the doors reflect this (as of June 2012). The place is full of shiny cooking pots and pans, and indeed the food has a home cooked look and flavour. I've tried the ackee and salt fish which was fine, but prefer the curry goat, rice and peas. With tender meat on the bone and a deep (again, homemade) curry sauce, complete with herbs still on the stalk, this is a favourite. I like it with a squeeze of lemon juice over the top just to cut through it a bit. Dumplings were something I've not tried before but now I tend to get one with the curry goat. Can't usually eat it all as well as the rice and peas, although I will probably keep trying. Usually pay around £5-6 which is good value. Service is friendly and I often have a quick chat with the owner or with the lady who regularly works there. Wholesome, tasty, filling food at the right price.
