I come in and and ask if if they would let me have a breakfast the staff Tommy and emmy sed yes it cost me 15.95 for a breakfast and cup of tea and an apple drink saff are rilly nice and welcoming you can have a laugh with them the place is really clean and it is child friendly and dog friendly to breakfast and it Wheelchair can get in as it easy I say it a 5*all rond

Tried the OAPs Carvery for the first time,and may I say not the last,well worth £5 and the food was very good.The service was with a smile and many thanks to Ellie for making us very welcome.Will be recommending to all our friends.

For 6 of the 7 weeks of the Pensioners Carvery we from Millhouse Lodge Ainsdale have enjoyed every visit… food is always excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.. Chloe M has been extra helpful, and we seem to see her over the 6 visits more than anyone else..she is very kind and and goes out of her way to help…So Thank You for making our Thursday visits enjoyable….

Fantastic afternoon. I was celebrating my 70th birthday with 21 of my family and friends. Cila and her staff worked tirelessly in making it a very special occasion for me an d my guests. The table was set beautifully, down to the smallest detail. The food was hot and delicious. They managed to serve 22 people in little or no time and did it with a smile and good humour. They accommodated everyone including the children, nothing was too much trouble and there was no problem in taking our own birthday cake. All the staff were helpful and professional. The bar staff were also pleasant, helpful and efficient. The whole day was magical, thank you.

We had lunch today in the Bold Hotel, and the service for all 9 of us was exceptional. Thank you to Ellie and Goda for their excellent service the food was delicious as always. We will certainly be going back.

We didn't get off to a good start as all 3 Real Ales were off, so had to go with an American IPA (which didn't get finished). We both ordered the Regular Carvery and decided on beef. Of course we can only comment on the beef, but TBH it was inedible (something else that wasn't eaten). It was difficult to cut with a knife, never mind chew it. It was only just after 1.30pm but there was only one Yorkshire Pudding left, so one of us went without. To say the food was warm is being a bit generous, it more like tepid. And to top it all off, one pint of IPA plus one pint of Lime & Soda came to over £8.00. Maybe it was just as well that nobody had the courtesy to ask us "is everything OK with your meals?"

We had a lovely nights stay here for a special Birthday celebration. The staff are very welcoming, nice comfy beds and large rooms. The breakfast in the morning was very enjoyable, with a fresh hot selection and the loveliest fresh fruit and pastries this made the stay even more enjoyable. The chef was very helpful and couldn’t do enough. I would definitely recommend The Bold.

Visited several times this year with work colleagues for leaving doos etc & we had our staff Christmas meal here this year . There is a good range of food on the menu and a decent carvery. What makes this place so special are the staff . They are so well organised , pleasant and helpful , offering a flexible approach where nothing is too much trouble -real gems !

We went for a carvery as we were in southport for the day , we opted for the Bold as it looked the best hotel on Lord Street. We haven't been for a while but we both agreed that it was a good choice as the quality of the food was excellent and good value. All the waiting on staff and the chefs were attentive and polite especially our serving girl called Goda.. Will definitely return

We have been coming to this Carvery for quite a number of years now and it has always been excellent.We arrived to be seated an ordered some wine which took 15 minutes to arrive.We we’re then given our ticket to go up to the Carvery which was extremely disappointing only ham an turkey .Yorkshire puds we’re heavy an dense roast potatoes pale an tasteless veg was ok but gravy was luke warm and no cranberry on show .We really won’t be rushing back.Also there was no heating on considering it was a freezing cold night.

Had a warm friendly greeting from Szabina Good food and service on Sunday when they were extra busy as they had a large party booked.

On a wet Tuesday evening in Southport we were extremely well looked after, fed and watered (so to speak) at The Bold Hotel Bar and Grill on Southport’s Lord Street. Although not that busy at six ish that evening, all the serving staff were bright, welcoming and friendly. The venue is pleasing too. A good menu. We opted for the carvery, it was excellent and I highly recommend it. The large selection of food on offer was cooked well and presented in the same manner. Really tasty. We chose a large plate each and had a couple of drinks. It came to £42 for the two of us. I think that’s good value for such well prepared food. Oh, and there was lots of food on our plates too. I may choose a medium sized plate net visit. We will most definitely be eating at The Bold Hotel Southport again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s well worth a visit. Cheers. And, bon appétit. Kev

Sunday carvery lunch here was very good. There are however different prices based on size of plate and on the day - weekends being more expensive. Confusing pricing though as we all thought that the difference in price would relate to amount of meat and veg rather than just veg which I think should be made clear on menu. So essentially if you’re not into veg you may as well get the smallest plate as you’ll get same amount of meat regardless. Desserts were good although I did feel the cappuccino cake was a far more generous size than the sticky toffee pudding. We did all enjoy our meals but I do feel your carvery pricing needs clarification. We were served by Goda who was charming and engaging and looked after us very well.

Very friendly staff, in a comfortable restaurant. Perfect location and good value. We all enjoyed our meals.

I was processed rather than greeted by a surly man who was unaccommodating regarding my choice of seat among the many empty tables. I ordered a glass of wine. This arrived after a long wait and I said to the waitress who brought it "I do not want anything to start with so I will go to the carvery straight away" and immediately realised that she had very rudely walked away from me whilst I was talking to her. I went to the carvery where the food looked tired and unappetizing. I was asked for my ticket. I explained that I had been in the restaurant for about half an hour and nobody had attended on me and given me a ticket. There was an obstructive screen separating me from the serving area and the servant said that he could not hear me. In exasperation I said "forget it", collected my coat and left. I inferred that there was no restaurant manager because there was no evidence of anybody managing anything. It was a disorganised mess. If these incompetent and uninterested staff worked for me and treated my customers in this way they would not have jobs for very long.
