Expensive for what you get. Service was great but you can feel the place is just designed to get as much money as they can for what little they give

Anyway liked the venue so asked what time they were closing - 11.30PM was the reply. Aranged to meet friends there after the concert but arrived a 10.55 PM to find it locked up & dark ??

We had our Wedding reception here as it was right outside Southport Town Hall where we had our service. Amber and her team were brilliant hosts. They sorted our buffet out and drinks on arrival. They even decorated the place for us , we just provided the stuff and they did the rest. Our party was 30-40 and we stayed longer than we expected because the atmosphere was so good. If you have a small party of guests perfectly convenient for Registry office next door then this is the place to be. Once again guys thanks for making our special day perfect. Stephen and Cathy xx

called in for breakfast and from start to finish was awful. was told only 1 table left.so that was okay only to be removed and seated elsewhere twice with in 5 minutes because they had a big party coming in. so we was put into the corner of a small room. ordered and waited near on 40 minutes. asked to change the black pud and mushrooms to a sausage only to be TOLD it cannot be done but can swop for hash brown or toast. so hash brown it was. by time breakfast arrived my tea had gone cold. asked for another tea. only reason we stsyed and agreed was because we were hungry and to go else where would have been more time. upon paying the bill they charged me for an extra hash brown and tea. i could not believe it . 25 pound near on for a breakfast that wasnt the best , small cold and service with an attitude. no apoligies so its a review on here. afterall words or stronger in the publics eye.

Turned up hoping to purchase 241 cocktails today (Thursday 11th) at the Lord street bar since there was a huge sign displaying this promotional offer for Thursdays between 5pm and 10pm. We arrived at half 5 to be told dismissively, there were no cocktails. Very disappointed because we were looking forward to celebrating with a cocktail.

I was so disappointed on Saturday 23rd April. I visited with my husband for a sandwich and a latte. We didn't get a receipt. I ordered BLT and cheese with red onion and marmalade off the menu and a toasted tea cake. The sandwiches tasted like they had been left out uncovered. They were in cling film when I ordered them and was advised that someone else made them over the road. The cheese looked like it had Branston pickle on which I said my husband didn't like and asked if it was the red onion and marmalade as in the menu. The girl who served me didn't know as they were made by someone else. I purchased them cost £27. 75 The cheese sandwich was not red onion and marmalade but a Branston style pickle which I ended up eating and my husband had half a BLT sandwich. One sandwich was so hard I returned it and refused to eat it. I did get a refund for £7 as the bread was hard in touch. I wouldn't return there again. I don't expect to pay £7 for stale sandwiches each. It looked like a lovely coffee shop inside Beales shop.

Stopped for coffee and cake after a nice walk on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, the table we sat at hadn’t been cleaned. There were 4 members of staff at the bar and even less customers inside, so there was no excuse. When the waiter told our order, I had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Watching the practices throughout our stay, I noticed that when people paid and left, the tables weren’t cleaned. Can I suggest that this becomes common practice, regardless off the situation of COVID. Other venues we’ve visited don’t allow you to sit down until they have checked that the tables are clean. We did ask when we arrived, “where we could sit” and the waiter told us anywhere. Coffee and cake really good, just disappointing hygiene practices.

Chose soup and coffee. Then it arrived! We were not expecting it to be served in cardboard take away containers with plastic spoons! Soup was lovely but why are you not using crockery and cutlery? All sandwiches were also pre prepared and in cardboard boxes. All very strange. It was a disappointing experience and felt like a quick snack from a take away rather than a relaxing lunch with a friend.

Not sure if we just came at a bad time, have only ever had drinks here before. Eaten at the Remedy in Churchtown and thoroughly enjoyed it..but this was a complete waste of our money and time (we ended up in subway). Naturally, the menu is now very limited, which is understandable in this post-covid world we find ourselves in. But stale sandwiches (two out of three), weird taste and texture ham (possible been frozen so felt mushy), and cheese that left an acrid aftertaste (even after a pint of lager) are not. All in all inedible. Definitely won't be eating here again : (As they were so busy I didn't bother queuing again to give them the opportunity to rectify things, so this is not a negative review of the establishment itself, merely of the one off experience we've had. The outside tables were also dirty, shame that these weren't being attended to as I'd have expected them to at least be wiped down after each customer : /Stick to the gins, they are fabulous : )

1st time visiting Remedy on Lord Street Southport after years of coming here and what a wonderful surprise it was, I have to say it was fabulous, this lovely quaint, different cafe/bar was a delightlful wonder. The decor was quirky with upside down lampshades hanging alongside an upside down Christmas tree, the sitting was very comfortable and the ambience very pleasent. There was a very nice menu to be had and a great selection but the Gin list was fabulous & I have to say I sampled a few :) The guy who works in the evening was very charming & friendly which is great to see now a days and made us feel very welcome. We asked for the evening cheeseboard and because they did not have one of the cheeses available (due to Christmas) he also knocked a few quid off for us (Very nice). The cheeseboard was amazing & the cheese delicious (Locally sorced) we asked for a few more crackers & he came out with more crackers and more cheese as it was all they had left anyway, such a lovely gesture & very thoughtful so big thank you to the lovely guy. To say we could hardly move after was an understatement :)We will definitely be going back and recommend this place to all Gin/Whiskey/Wine lovers for an enjoyable evening out. Thank you Remedy.

Visited for lunch and accepted we had to sit outside because of a four legged companion. When our order was placed at the bar, the establishment was not exactly busy, with a number of staff not overburdened with work, yet...we still had to ask for our table to be cleared; we still waited 25 minutes for three snack lunches to arrive; poached eggs on toast arrived without advertised spinach, which took a further ten minutes to arrived after half of the dish had been eaten; hot water for tea asked for and never delivered; and one guy delivering to outside running around like a dervish.

Nice place and nice coffee... But should it really take more than 20 minutes to make one cappuccino and pour one soft drink into a glass? Felt a bit sorry for the staff - saw at least one other customer complain quite aggressively about the slow service whilst we were there - but management of the orders just seemed non-existant. Waitresses wandering aimlessly around trying to find where customers were seated and then giving them the wrong order. Delay after delay. Not sure if we caught them on a bad day?

Having been to Southport many times to stay for a few days we've now got our favourite cafe-hotel-coffee/bar-pub.

This is a unique cafe. The coffee is world class. So much better than any chain. If you like real coffee, you'll notice straight away. The food is fabulous. The menu is well thought out, with plenty of options and combinations, including high quality ingredients. The place has a friendly and welcoming feel. A unique and well thought out cafe that is my first stop on trips to Southport.

We regularly visit Remedy when we visit Southport from Manchester. Usually on a Monday. The flat whites are amongst the best we have ever had. We get lunch most visits. My wife and I love the Welsh rarebit. I usually have a sandwich which are unusual and the homemade bread is great. My wife loves the mushrooms on toast also. The thing that stands out the most at Remedy is the staff are so attentive and friendly. Most of the staff have been there for a few years so perhaps they love Remedy as much as us.

We stopped for mid morning coffee and sat outside in the sun. We had ordered two Latte's and the waitress came out looking for someone who had ordered two Cappuccino's. She came to ask if it was us and we said no. A few minutes later she came outside again and said here are your Lattes, which were in fact Cappuccino 's.

Had a really lovely veggie breakfast and their own roast of coffee is fantastic. Had two different gin drinks too, their selection of alcohol is really large so something for everyone. Staff were super friendly and the decor is really lovely. Would highly recommend!

We had lunch here (actually hot drinks and cake followed by a few rums for me as I wasn’t driving for a change) and it was really lovely.

Visited Remedy on Lord Street and was very disappointed with the state of the outdoor area. Considering the cost of the drinks they need to invest in some decent-quality tables and chairs outside, and clean the place up a bit.

Remedy have moved recently to new premises close by. They now have more seating outside which has obviously proved popular in this recent lovely weather.

I have been here numerous times and I can never ever fault the staff however the manageress/owner with the curly hair is so miserable and rude I don’t think she realises how much custom she must be losing. I was last here on Saturday afternoon and the manageress/owner asked me what table I was sitting at and I explained I had only just walked in so didn’t have a table she said I need to know your table number to which I again replied I have just walked in I haven’t got a table so she said wait at the bar then. No problem howeve the next customer to be served asked for a glass of water with her order and the manageress simply got the glass and told one of her colleagues who was already serving a customer to pour a glass of water for the customer. Come on surely you’re not too good to pour a glass of water??? The staff were rushed off their feet as it was. I also witnessed her snapping at a member of staff for making a cocktail in the wrong glass. In front of customers this is unacceptable. I think I’ll give here a miss in future

Ordered two coffee’s and a beer, it just seemed to take forever. Had to go in and ask if they had forgotten us. Told me out order was in the queue and that it was busy. I’d hate to wait for drinks if the place was actually busy. To top it off the coffee’s were nearly cold when they arrived. Not a happy costumer not planning on returning.

I briefly popped into Waterfields today and I was very pleasantly surprised at the selection. The cakes and snacks were extensively stocked behind the counter and were very reasonably priced at under £2 each. I bought a cupcake with vanilla cream on top which was delicious! The staff serving were friendly, polite and efficient. You can also sit in to eat, if you wish. The only issue was that the loaves of bread/toasties were running out, then again it was 3pm so this was understandable. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit!

This used to be a good bar but is now just a high priced dog compound. 9 dogs in this very small bar. Wouldn't order food given the smell of dogs and lack of washing of hands by bar staff after feeding treats to the dog. Don't bother, there are better alternatives in Formby.

A small, compact cafe with a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Definitely a cut above the average park cafe - nice coffee and a good selection of cakes and traybakes. The breakfasts looked good as well.
