Mermaid Cafe in Blackpool

Best breakfast we had during our Blackpool stay. I had the big boy and my wife regular. All cooked well. Staff friendly

Popped in here twice in one day. Decent food at reasonable prices. Lovely staff. Will return next time we are in Blackpool.

Spent the day in Blackpool with my family noticing that a lot of people were quite ignorant until we went into the Mermaid Cafe. Outside we noticed a signboard boasting the big boys breakfast. I must say it was a lovely cooked breakfast and good value for money and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. This put a smile on my face after the ignorant people we'd encountered during the day. So thankyou..If you ever go to Blackpool go and get a big boy, haha.

I visited The Mermaid cafe with my husband today. He had a "big boy" breakfast and I had burger and chips, the food was tasty and not too greasy like some full English Breakfasts can be and it all came out promptly and hot despite the cafe being very busy. They staff were polite friendly and very welcoming.... I'll definitely be calling in again.

Visited this cafe, and i use that term loosely, the food was shocking , cutlery dirty and toliets dirty, we ordered the breakfast it was warm and full of grease anyway we were hungry , after about 3 hours of eating this i was violently ill i returned to the place and explained that i had been ill and the lady in charge was not intrested she was very rude in fact , i advise no one to eat there fpund out later they had food hygiene of 2 im only given i star rating as there is nothing lower to give it i will be contacting blackpool council reguarding this dive, please avoid at all costs

I have never had a meal in here - but am sure they are excellent but this is a great place to call for a drink on the way back to Lonsdale Road Coach statio. we often stop here for our last drink before the Coach homeAlso is immensly clean too and polite staff (very polite at that) I'd go as far as to say

We ate at this cafe recently ..the staff were very helpful and welcoming and the food was nice all served together and the food was hot will be returning

this is one of the best meals we have ever had in blackpool loved every bit of it and the people in there were so very friendly and accomodating for 11 of us nothing was to much trouble and the food was amazing deffo going back next year thank you the mermaid xxx

after walking around for most of the morning we came across this café, the girl who served us was absolutely lovely. We ordered 3 breakfast rolls... we didn't realise the roll (barm) was as large as a plate and the whole breakfast was ON it! I couldn't finish mine however my Bf and son gave it a good go! we all enjoyed it and would definitely return. Prices were good, staff were friendly and the place was clean x

Has this cafe got new. Owners. We visit every year may be twice a year and always eat here. But found yesterday the food wasn't a good as it normaly i had a sizzle meal which was served on a cold normal plate. Food. Has gone down hill in there. Last time we vist there.

Just two two things to say about this cafe.Half cooked sausage and burnt toast turned upside down. Yuk!

We came here sunday and for a five star rating i was very disappointed. Well we ordered 4 breakfast and not one of them was right i asked for no sausage on mine so everybody elses come without sausage. also my friend asked for no tomatoes but they must of forgot and hidden the tomatoes with beans. None of us ate much of them, doesn't deserve a 3 never mind 5 star rating. Maybe we just had a bad service as everybody else had a good service. Wont be going back.

It is a pity that I only popped into this cafe on the final day of my recent stay as what I ate was superb and would like to enjoy more of their food. Interesting bright red and yellow decor... also feels like stepping back in time in a good way.

i would 100% recommend this cafe to eat at, they have friendly staff,there food is cooked from scratch and if anythinks wrong they always make sure to help correct it and there are also famliy friendly there hygiene is on top as well as a few time i went to clean up after my little boy and they said not to as they will do it and they also made sure the children was happy with there food and if the kids didnt like it they would go out there way to help x

Tucked away, just around the corner from Central Pier is a little gem - almost as if hiding in plain sight - which opens early and caters for everyone for every meal.

Have been going here for years on our annual blackpool trip, never disappointed. We always get the steak which is great, kids food is good too and all good value for money! Desserts are really cheap too! Well worth a visit

4 of us had dinner here and would go back again...was clean,the staff very friendly and the food was served fast and hot and very tasty...would recommend this to anyone...

We've have been several time. Try the three course Sunday lunch. Starter, Main and Pudding excellent value and quality food. If it's good you go back, we've been a few times and will go again.

Just found this café by chance,and was pleasantly surprised by what was on offer,from roast beef dinner,mixed grills, gammon, Turkey,ham and stuffing ,plus the usual Chips,sausage and eggs which are free range ,fresh fish,mych more,plus deserts. Very reasonably priced by lovely helpful staff.this cafe holds Donna's dream home close to their heart. I will return to this friendly cafe every time I come to Blackpool

We went for breakfast whilst visiting blackpool. We were greeted and looked after very well by friendly staff.. breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. A varied menu with reasonable prices..in a warm and friendly environment.. well done

My husband and I visited here for breakfast. The lady that greeted us (think she may have been the owner) was very warm and friendly, we had a fry up each with toast it was really nice! It's also really cheap! They serve 3 course dinners also. Recommend

We use the Mermaid every time we are in Blackpool .It opens early and as we go out for an early walk every morning its a great place to pop in .

We had breakfast enjoyed it closes a bit too early but was out of season so guess it's open later in season friendly staff would go back

The big boy breakfast is what it says on the tin. I have had many a meal from this place and have never had a bad one. The staff are great and as its a family run place they put their heart and soul into it.

We went there as a family of eight,all adults,and all had breakfasts except for me who had the fish.I expected being at the seaside fresh fish but it was a cheap birds eye version.As soon as we put our cutlery down a lady was there waiting to take the plates away.We all felt as though we were being rushed to vacate the tables even though there was only one more couple dining.

I have eaten here many times and have always found the food to be of the highest quality. There is plenty of choice, all at reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help.

We found this cafe going via a different route to the seafront, and to be honest late Saturday afternoon we just planned to aim for the first place we saw.

A couple of minutes walk away from the hectic seafront and worth every step! Really good choice, excellent prices and friendly staff. It was clean inside and the food and drinks were with us within a few minutes. For the price, we weren't expecting much....but we were pleasantly suprised. Really good grub!! Not the hugest of portions for a fat bloke like me but the rest of the family were stuffed! We'll definitely call again if we have to visit Blackpool.

For the price, we were expecting the usual greasy spoon grub but we were suprised to find a huge selection of really nice food. To be fair, we didn't try it all but what we did choose, came quickly and was very nice. It's definitely worth deviating from the sea front for a meal, or just a cuppa.

Very clean place with really friendly staff and the food is second to none with a great service with a smile, can recommend the beef roast.

Friendly staff & a great service, we eat at this cafe every year when we come on holiday. The steak was amazing & so was the roast dinner, very good prices. Will be back next year.

Have already reviewed here after amazing food in the past, and had to review again as the food is so good and at such a reasonable price. Friendly service as well. Can't recommend it enough.

Friendly and welcoming staff ! Lovely food !we had 4 children with us they are such fussy eaters , ate every bit ,I had the sizzler steak hubby had sizzling mixed grill !large portions very reasonably prices £1.95 children's meals brilliant!well worth a little tip ..thanks to all the staff.

Lovely food, steaks/mixed grill etc served on sizzling plate at very reasonable price. Sponge and custard for 95p!!!!

If you want some reasonably prices English grub this is a good place to come. 2 Adults 1 child £11. Recommend

best place to eat in blackpool, just a shame it isn't open all day as we really struggled to find good food on an evening, the staff are very accommodating swapping the chips and peas for veg n potatoes for my children, the piri piri chicken my husband has was fantastic and my curry was delicious

We came here after a bad experience at the Harlequin cafe just up the road, and were extremely happy with our visit! The gentleman who served us was friendly and polite and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Will definately return and would highly recommend!

After a bad experience with fish and chips during my first day in Blackpool, my family was sceptical about visiting another. Gladly we weren't disappointed the second time around. My mother and father had fish and chips and my sister and I had the mixed grill. The mixed grill was lovely and my sister agreed.

Always used this little gem in the past been in Blackpool 3 times in the last 3 months including last week and visited 3 days out the week at different times and it was always closed same with another old Blackpool favourite woodheads but they have a new Witherspoon's across the road fair enough the town did seem quiet to me but they can't sell it if they are always closed..

Ordered a breakfast, don't bother it was full of grease bacon was black and burnt its horrible.dirty carpets so old fashioned needs a good refurbish and get a proper cook.

we have just returned home from Blackpool and have ate in this café everyday, the meals are fantastic and so cheap, my husband loved the mixed grill, and the steak was a favourite with my teenage son. my mam (who is very fussy) loved the curry, the lamb roast was delicious.

Visited the cafe just before our trip home. Food extremely cheap! Myself and my partner got a coffee to drink and our kids got a hot chocolate all priced at £1.25 each, they were all made with milk and seved in big mugs, absolutely lovely. We got breakfasts and my son got chicken nuggets and chips, all kids meals are £1.95 and you get lots. Special offer on the wall 3 courses for £5.95 - soup, beef or turkey dinner and a pudding, don't think you'll get much better value just off the seafront in Blackpool. Definitely return!

The food is good (try the hot beef sandwich) and extremely wel priced but you never know if it will be open or not? no posted opening times and in 3 days we went past twice to find it shut?

The service is very quick with friendly staff. The food is filling and very tasty.I have had a few meals here. To be picky I ordered the big boy breakfast. For 4.50 I was surprised there was no mushrooms as is the norm with a big breakfast. But I was full after that anyway. The staff couldnt do enough and when my gf asked for extra bacon instead of sausage it was done with no questions asked. They pride themselves that they have been on tv. And so they should.

This was what you would expect from a cafe. Good food, good portions, speedy service. Man taking orders not too customer friendly but other than that would definately recommend. Really close to central pier and away from strip.

Have used the Mermaid in the past for many years and always been satisfied. Went in end Oct 13. Ordered the Surf & Turf.....well got to say was the best one I have had..............staff accomodating. Children had a mini roast, meat was lovely.

Sat down after ordering, and was pleasantly surprised at the speed of the arrival of the food, which was of excellent standard and excellent value. Nice and friendly and polite staff. Well worth a visit

Having visited Blackpool for several years we were looking for a decent cafe for breakfast having travelled up from Heathrow and it being 7.30am, as this was just round the corner from where we were booked to stay we decided to give it a try (Just down from Central Pier). I was very happy with my meal and the service, we have tried several places int he past and I could not say that any had given a good breakfast, but this one did. My husband had the bad boy breakfast, I had the special and my teenagers has bacon and a sausage and bacon roll (these were massive!) We all had a hot drink each, and were all set up for the day and at just under £16.00 for the whole meal and drinks I was very happy. I can honestly say that this was one of the best breakfasts I had eaten in Blackpool.

Went in on wednesday, me n the wife had steak pie chips n beans, i had 1 piece of meat n my wife had 2 n it was soggy. My daughter wanted some Blackpool rock cake but you can only buy a full one, very disappointed

ok if you want to have good old fashioned home cooked" meals, sadly like everywhere elsewe are entering the fast food lifestyle, you can get a good cuppa here

We have eaten in the mermaid cafe quite regularly and have always found the staff very helpful. The food is excellent and plenty of choices.

We have visited Blackpool for the past 3 years and The mermaid cafe is the only place we have found consistant with good quality food and service. We will definatly return and would reccomend to family and friends. Food is always presented well, plenty of it and priced reasonably. We know we are always going to be happy with our food ordered and have tried a variety of dishes and enjoyed every one.

some food not hot enough and cafe closing 3pm so no chance of a snack later in day.we had lunch 12 30pm and some food just warm. we went back for a snack about 3pm but cafe closed.

We have been here on our last stay and enjoyed it, this time we went we took friends. (sat 28th july - 4.30pm ish)

This was ok , was not to many in when we went , so we were served pretty quick , but had to ask twice for our drinks , overall it was ok
