The Corner Flag in Blackpool

It was a little quiet when I walked in. Matt, at the bar, indicated that I could sit anywhere and he quickly came to take my drinks order and give me a menu. The menu had a good range of food including pizza, fish and chips, burgers, steak and salmon. I went for the grilled chicken with dauphinoise potatoes and a mushroom sauce - it was absolute perfection! Highly recommended and a big thank you to Matt who was spot on with his level of service and attentiveness.

I arrived at the hotel on Monday 30th November and was amazed by the attentiveness of the staff. While I was being served my Dinner both Emilia and Matt who were both very knowledgable in regards to the menu served and other events I.e. football match day meals. Would definitely recommend and I cannot wait to return. Big thank you to both of them and the kitchen staff for such excellent service.

Whilst visiting Blackpool with our granddaughters, we looked at The corner flag and thought it looked worth a visit. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed. We called ahead to book and were told what availability there was. We chose 7pm. Firstly, we struggled to find it as it wasn't very well signposted. Not that we could see anyway. We arrived and immediately told that there might be a 30/45 minute wait as a group of 30 had just come in, but that she would take our order as soon as she could. (The party of 30 was some sort of work party) We were slightly confused because surely a party of 30 hadn't just turned up without pre booking?? There were 2 members of staff. One who we presumed was a waitress, and the other seemed yo be working the bar when not helping to serve the food. My husband went to the bar and managed to get us some drinks. 30 minutes passed, and the table of 30 seemed to have been served their starters. I was getting angsty because I knew we were going to be late to meet some family members as planned. My husband told me to calm down, and the staff were doing their best. At this point, I pointed out that actually, the waitress was sitting on the window ledge getting some fresh air. My 2 older granddaughters were getting hungry, and my youngest was getting tired. At 7.45, when the waitress started pouring drinks for the party of 30, even my husband agreed that it wasn't on. I approached the bar and asked if she was going to take our order anytime soon? Now I don't know whether she had forgotten or just didn't think we 5 were as important as the large group, but she immediately came over. We ordered our food, and I asked if my youngest could have her main when we got our starters. At 8.15, we were served our starters! Soup was nice. A wee while after that we got our mains. My youngest GDs food came with our mains. I had ordered salmon but asked for it without the hollandaise sauce. Guess what? Yep, came with the sauce! By this point, I didn't even want to send it back because the place had started to get busy, and I didn't know how long I'd have to wait. Although I did let the waiter know. My GDs were tired and fed up and the youngest was really upset that it was too late to go on our planned visit to meet her cousin. I should also point out that the waitress hadn't come near our table since she took our order until we were leaving and she came to clear it. Now I suppose I have some sympathy for the 2 staff members who were under series pressure because of the large party and how busy it eventually got, but what was the situation there? Did someone not show up? Did the large party not book and catch them off guard, or did the managers just not care to staff the place appropriately? Whatever the reason, it wasn't explained to us. Both members of staff did seem suitably embarrassed and apologised. They also didn't charge us for my meal. However, I definitely won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Atmosphere so calming service excellent ! All Credit due to Dayne, so polite and friendly. Couldn’t do enough! His personality shines, up and beyond. Made my night!! Would definitely come back again!

Tried this restaurant for the first time to try the new Sunday Lunch. The food was delicious, plenty of nicely cooked vegetables, good roast potatoes, and the beef was wonderful and tender, and plenty of it. The Yorkshire pudding was nice, but maybe homemade would have been better. For desert we both had the apple pie with custard, which was absolutely delicious. All in all, a very enjoyable meal with great service, definitely worth a visit

All the food in the Corner Flag Restaurant,is Excellent,The Buffet breakfast is great value for money,and all food tastes lovely.Enjoyed the Dinner Steak and Thai Fishcakes.Can’t wait for our next visit.

Beautiful restaurant which is actually a part of the stadium. The view is awesome from the restaurant. Unfortunately when I visited there was no football match. But I can imagine watching a match from the restaurant would be awesome. They have seating arrangements outside as well. Food is equally good. We had beef burger and fish&chips. The staff was very nice and kind. Will come back to watch a football match from the restaurant

We had a very good offer on Groupon and we paid about £24 for 4 people to have an afternoon tea at the Corner Flag Blackpool fc.We have had many Afternoon teas at Blackpool fc being a massive football fans it makes it extra special.The afternoon tea arrived within 10 minutes and was excellent with lovely sandwiches and cakes we swapped our prosecco for soft drinks,a lovely venue but strange that we were the only customers on a Sunday afternoon.We will be back in the future.

The restaurant took a last minute booking for 20 people and nothing was too much bother for them at all. The service was absolutely fantastic and the food was delicious. 20 full and happy people after eating. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Blackpool has a lot of places that charge a fortune for rotten food. I’d definitely go back to this restaurant.

Today myself my mum, grandma, aunty and 2 year old daughter went for afternoon tea and we couldn’t recommend it enough, the chef was there when we arrived and made my daughter carrots and peas and chips as that’s what she likes which was so lovely of him, he couldn’t help us enough, all the staff were amazing and what a difference that makes to your experience and we will definitely be going back again soon, thank you x

We went for Mothers Day Lunch and the level of service blew us away. Whilst the performances on a Saturday this season may not be up to the required standard, the Staff in the corner flag were Premier League Level. The Food was tasty, atmosphere welcoming, and the views second to none.

Just visited this weekend with my son…stayed in the hotel and ate dinner, breakfast and lunch in the Corner Flag. A little on the pricy side for what you get but the staff were lovely, especially the lady in charge during the hospitality lunch. Would definitely visit again, thanks

Went on a Thursday afternoon for afternoon tea. Everything was absolutely lovely. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious. Unlimited tea and coffee. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend afternoon tea and the venue. We'll definitely be back.
