We held a joint 60/80 party here and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff are brilliant and extremely helpful from all correspondence to the night. We had about 30 ppl for a small do and they were brilliant letting us come earlier even though half of our party did end up staying to the late! The food was exceptional the steak ale pie was devine and had our guests talking about it for weeks after! Compliments to the chef! Lovely party area, when decorated with balloons and banners it was a really good atmosphere, the bar were happy to play music on Spotify all night. Really spacious and just a really lovely evening. Great hospitality. Deffo worth considering for a function.

Second time we have been recently, this time for Sunday lunch. Absolutely fantastic, food took a little while from ordering.....simply because it was cooked fresh. Generous portion size but just delicious. One of the best pub lunches I've ever had. Had the 3 meat, brisket, gammon and chicken, all 3 were succulent, the veg cooked to perfection. Don't forget to put your car reg in the machine. Electric car charging in the adjacent car park is an instavolt so ideal place to eat while charging the car.

The food is to die for. People don't realise how nice the food is. We like to eat out alot but like I say this place is definitely the best in Macclesfield!!! Its a hidden gem!!! Pls visit ignore the pub area you can hide away and enjoy fresh home made food 😋

Beware of car parking! We visited for the 4th time early in July, on our previous visit we were told by staff to make sure we parked only in the pub car park and not to use the shopping centre car park which is managed by one of those dreadful management companies. We arrived and were shown to our table and served drinks and food at the table - we did not visit the bar at all. The pub seems so quiet at lunchtime that you would have thought our bill of £81.65 would be welcome. A couple of days ago we received a penalty charge notice for £60 - I spoke to the pub and was told that they had started using the management company to control the car park. They said that there was nothing they could do and also that it was not their responsibility to point out to customers that the parking was now monitored.. Such a shame as we won’t be returning. Other visitors please beware! Back to the Flowerpot for us…..

Had a really nice meal in this pub yesterday. All COVID regulations covered very well. The only problem was one particular young man shouting and swearing at the top of his voice. Although quite a few people were there to watch the football match on the tv he was the only one that really annoying. Please sort this out. It puts people off going in to eat.

We called in on Sunday for some lunch and had a very enjoyable meal which looked good on the plate and was hot and fresh. The week before we had the same meal more or less at the Flower Pot and the meal at The Weaver’s was far superior and £3 each cheaper, we shall be definitely going back for another meal. Our complements to the chef.

I cannot fault the Food or Service but am disappointed with the management.A careful warning to anyone visiting in a car we recently visited on a Saturday evening and as on all our previous visits parked on the Thornton Square car park Which unbeknown to us had been taken over by a company called Smart Parking? To our surprise some three weeks later we received a parking fine from them for £60.00 has we had over stayed the allotted parking time by 11 minutes if you were not using the Square facilities? Which we were!! I appealed against this fine which they rejected even though I sent them a copy of the receipt from the Weavers. I rang the Weavers and spoke to the lady Manager who explained the Weavers was not part of the Square and had it's own car park at the rear? How it can not be part of the Square when its address quite clearly states 11 Thornton Square????She also said the owner of the Square had had the parking restrictions put on to stop people from school parking there, surely not at 7.30pm on a Saturday night.I would have thought that knowing Patrons could be booked for parking in the Square the Weavers could have put some warning signs up to inform their customers regarding this after all not all their customers are locals? We for one will not be attending here again when we are visiting Macclesfield. Very disappointed about this what was a nice night has been ruined. BE CAREFUL.

Looking for a change of scenery after becoming a regular visitor to the new Flowerpot and finding that the Weaver has changed it's layout.Name and number taken for Covid and also temperature taken, a first for me outside of the dentist.Weekday afternoon pint and really busy in the lounge area, that used to be the dining room. This is a much better use of space as it was always over busy on the other side of the bar and never full in the dining room. Large group of after work locals congregating around the pool table; friendly enough but if scruffs and bad language offend then it's not for you.Beer was excellent as per last visit and very reasonably priced.Definitely be back in the near future.

We visited as a couple on Saturday evening. The staff are very warm and friendly, the place was a little noisy but that has to be expected with foootball being shown in the lounge bar, perhaps the doors to the dining area could have been closed? Service was excellent, my food was great, we had a minor problem with my wifes meal in that the pastry on her pie was over done, but when we mentioned it to the manager it was dealt with immediatly and to our satisfaction. Would highly recommend giving this place a try, we have been a few time and the food and service has been excellent with nice friendly staff.

Took my neighbour for a beer and discovered he'd been here many years ago. He was very impressed with how the place had changed, he barely recognised it.Busy in the bar, they have a few big screens and there was some footy on. There was also a group celebrating a birthday and it was quite lively.I plumped for the Exmoor Gold, this is a great brewery and I thoroughly enjoyed my two pints. We sat in the restaurant as there was nobody in there and the bar was a bit noisy. The room is nicely decorated and there's a big menu.WiFi is The Cloud but talking to regulars it's very hard to get hold of as I found out.Friendly staff, this pub is high up on the Macc list going forward.

We booked the main bar for a private birthday party. We started planning a few moths ago and Alison and Gary we very keen to help us and get the details right for the night. On the day they set out the room, organised the balloons and had the sound system set up for our own Spotify play list. We had the choice of buffet, sandwiches, curry or chilli with chips and rice etc. We opted for the hot food and were not disappointed in terms of quality or quantity. There were plenty of bar staff on an waiting times for drinks was minimal. Above all Gary and Alison were perfect hosts, staying close all night and making sure everything ran to plan. We had a great night and they were key to making it happen. Would recommend for anyone that wants a private room party.

First visit here and the Weaver has plenty to offer.Situated on a square with plenty of parking outside, presume free but it was evening so not sure.We entered the public bar and the football was about to start, some excellent screens. Most people appeared to be watching from the bar, appeared to be a narrow area so I'm not sure if there were many seats to watch from.Great to see Directors ale and we ordered a couple of pints. Sat in the lounge area for a chat, a big area with plenty of tables and just 2 other occupants.Enjoyable evening, definitely call in again.

Treat for wife before big open heart operation. As before comfortable neat and tidy. Attentive landlord. Food excellent and reasonably priced. My wife had steak and I had Texas Ribs. No complaints at all.Present tenants have spent a great deal overhauling what I understand to have been a rather nondescript pub and it is now very acceptable. Its position in an estate may count against it and you may feel it lacks a certain character but it is a very pleasant place to eat top end pub food in a calm atmosphere. Music was 1960s and quiet. Don't expect a choice of wines. - it is a pub - but there are several beers available. They do have live football but not in the restaurant part. It does mean I can watch my beloved Leicester City at times!Very satisfactory experience. We will go there again.

This is a very ordinary looking pub on the corner of a small retail park. We have been about half a dozen times with friends or family members and not had any disappointments. The staff are both friendly and welcoming and the ambience comfortable and relaxing. We’ve enjoyed a dozen or so different selections from the menu which contains many pub favourites. The general consensus is that all have been good (a word of caution - the Piri Piri Chicken, described as hot and spicy on the menu is HOT and spicy with the landlord did warn us) and the chips excellent. This was the first time I had visited The Weaver and didn't even know it was there as it was located alongside a large housing estate. It seems popular with people just out for a drink and those wanting a meal as well. We reserved our table for a group of us on a busy Friday night and it was worth it. The service is friendly and welcoming although we had to wait a little for our courses. I would say this is typical pub grub but very reasonably priced. The menu isn't huge but there is a 'specials' board with more choices. I found my bruschetta a little odd as it came with the mozzarella cheese and cold tomato in slices alongside some small pieces of plain lightly toasted bread. It was OK though. My spicy bean burger with salad was fine and the accompanying bowl of chips too large to finish. Others said the lasagne and fish and chips were tasty. Everything seemed to go down well but we were a group of friends meeting up and that alone added to the general ambience.

Three of the adults meals(all day breakfast/meat pie) were satisfactory and so was the child's. After hearing good reviews about the Weaver, we booked in 13 for a 1pm Sunday Lunch to celebrate a family birthday. We had to wait an hour for the food to arrive & then it came in drips & drabs. The people who got theirs first had almost finished before the last meals arrived. The last meals were the children's who by this time were really hungry. I've never been anywhere that serves the kids meals last, they are usually the first to arrive. The beef for the Sunday lunch was really tough & chewy, the veg was cold, couldn't decide whether the mash potato was packet or actual potato. We didn't stay for desert as by 3 o'clock we had had enough. 2 of the staff were very apologetic about the wait but by then it had already spoilt the meal. So, for a good re-opening back in August, it seems the service and quality side of the business has taken a dive.Come on Weaver, you CAN do better!

Newly opened and trying hard to create an informal pub style dining experience. Nice to see they have kept the menu small enough to be able to do the diahes well but offering enough variety for all tastes. Specials available for each course too. Personally I would prefer no TV within my view and if they kept the panel door shut between the dining and bar area this would have made a much nicer enviroment as they have gone to a lot of trouble with the decor and seating environment in the dining room section. Food tasty and nicely presented. Friendly genuine servjce. Feels like they need to get more confidence and "own" the dining side part of the business as much as they do the bar but I think this will come in time. will I go back? Yeah I will and you ahould try it too.

We used to live in Weaverham and often walked to the Riverside for a drink or food. They used to do 2 main courses for £10 which was good values for money. I know those days are now gone but after our recent visit I don’t think we will be returning. We booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4 people. We ordered drinks which came promptly and then ordered our food. We only ordered 4 mains, fish and chips, sea bass and 2 x steak and ale pies. We waited over an hour for our food, others who arrived after us received their food so we asked how long ours was going to take and were told they were just plating up. 10 minutes later we finally received our food. The fish and chips did look lovely and was a healthy portion size, the pies were well filled but mash potato was a bit on the small side. The main issue was the sea bass. There were 2 small fillets with a few crushed potatoes underneath, a spoonful of frozen peas, 2 green beans and 5 mange tout. Now for £17.95 I expected more. I’m not a big eater or a quick eater but I finished my meal first, and I knew I wouldn’t be full for long. How much do vegetables cost? Surely some carrots and tender stem broccoli wouldn’t break the budget? I did mention this and I was not charged for my alcohol free G&T, but I couldn’t wait to get home and have something to eat, disappointing.

Delicious brunch - the bread they use for their toast just melts in your mouth. Lovely sunny aspect, chilled background music and really great service.

Attended here with friends for an evening meal as part of a group of 11 and the service by Niall was outstanding. We had the evening meal and breakfast package from the premier inn next door and very good value for money!

Called in for a quick pint on my first visit to Macclesfield. Was early, so quiet, with only one local. Looks like they have a varied selection of beers. I opted for a German lager. Nice friendly publican who said he has been there for 40 years. Close to train station.
