We came across this little tearoom on a visit to Chester. It is in a beautiful ancient building with stone arches inside. The menu is vast! Big only sandwiches, cakes etc. but hot food, stir fried, steak and it also served alcohol. Everyone could find something to eat in this place. We opted for sandwiches and soup, followed by pudding and cake. All the food was tasty and was reasonable priced. The toilet is up on the 3rd floor, so not great for people with mobility problems. Itâs a bit of a trek and very spooky! Not sure if this place is haunted, but I definitely sensed something in the top dining room. I would visit again for food, just wouldnât visit the toilet next time. đŹ

Positives: nice decor and friendly staff. Scottish breakfast tasted nice. Negatives. No kids menu so ordered beans and cheese on toast and just beans on toast for a 9 and 3 year old. Arrived as one slice of toast and half a can of beans each with one slice of cheese on one. Both cost the same even though we asked for a kids portion. So for ÂŁ17.90 we got 2 slices of bread, a tin of beans and one cheese slice. Bizarre price tag for what you got - you would expect a decent main meal in a restaurant for that. However nice experience, just possible needs price review on some of the menu items and possible a kids version.

Chester market is fabulous. It's got a nice vibe about it and the bar is fairly central to it all. It looks great and theyve a huge choice of spirits. I had Prosecco and they put a raspberry in which was nice. The chap behind the bar was lovely, there was a young woman behind the bar who wasn't so friendly hence the 4 stars. She wasn't rude, but she just wasn't friendly

Having had a disappointing coffee with breakfast, we were pleased to find the coffee in this café was very good quality. The order is placed at the counter and the coffee is delivered to your table. The staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed our coffee break.

We had a good meal at the bridge cafe full English and a chilli con carne meal. The quality of food was good in particular the chilli was very flavoursome. The portion sizes were generous. I was happy to pass my comments on how pleased I was with our meals before leaving. It's a popular cafe, the staff were friendly but very busy. I would have given 5 stars, but the wait for drinks was quite long. To create a better ambience, I'd change the layout to allow the flow of staff passing the queue.

The Stanley Arms is a local pub that offer's a decent food and drinks range and was a great place to go to for a few beer's.This is a superb local pub with a nice interior with nice decor and furnishings and it's housed in a superb old world building. On and off me and my twin have been here dozen's of time's over the years and it's just as good as when we first visited here many year's ago.We were on a bit of a pub crawl around this area and decided to visit here for a few beers. We visited here in the afternoon and it was just starting to get busy.On our visit we had a couple of glasses of Carling lagers which were served in perfect condition and were reasonably priced. Its a fantastic local pub in a brilliant area of Chester and it's a pub well worth visiting.(This is my second review of the Stanley Arms). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-10.00-01.00. Sunday-11.00-23.00.
