Fantastic night out. Loads of fun.

not our first visit to this generally nice pub but today we were struck by a smell that seemed to issue from (blocked? toilets) a drains issue

Best place in town for LGBTQ community it specially on Fridays shagger is fabulous 😍

We stumbled across the Liverpool arms while biding Chester and we are so glad we did. The staff were all very welcoming chatty and very fast at serving. The bar has a brilliant atmosphere and we can’t wait to go back.

The two ladies that own this are absolutely amazing, friendly chatty everything you'd want from pub landlords. The barmam was absolutely spot-on, equally friendly and chatty which is what you want when you're going into a bar as a single person, and you don't just want to sit around in your own company. The tables were clean and not sticky like some venues they can be, theres plenty of seating or you can stand around and prop the bar up 😊. A highly recommended venue to visit if you're in Chester, for a quick pint or to while away a few hours.....

Brilliant Friday night entertainment

The pub is ok ,But very hit and miss depending on the staff ( some great some clock watchers ) The lady behind the bar tonight clearly wanted to finish early and had no problem with telling everyone that. It’s a shame people like this work in hospitality, it’s not what you want to hear while trying to relax and enjoy a pint. Disappointing

We got such a very warm greeting from the barmaid when we walked in, that I actually commented on her welcome. The music was not intrusive or too loud, and the playlist was ideal for the clientele (ie mid 40s upwards). Beer was good, and a decent price. Dogs welcome. Will definitely visit again if back in Chester.

Popped in today after a long drive - the vibes are incredible and very friendly would highly recommend

My twin brother and I were pub hopping along Northgate Street when we decided to drop into The Liverpool Arms Pub ,been here quite a few times ,always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit to here. A decent enough pub,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We ordered beers from Carling Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub while we sipped our beers. My beer was really good, a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a delicious beer and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time . The Liverpool Arms Pub is easy to locate along Northgate Street, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Warm friendly and welcoming to all walks of life. I never had food here, so I can't comment on that, but it's a fun place to enjoy drinks with friends 😊

Great for a good night out, danced all night and sang once on karaoke so ye good for gay people also straight people but if you are not gay or lesbian do not knock this great pub

We called in at a quiet time. Service was great. A clearly LGBT+ friendly pub

Returned after 6-7 years. Big changes (interior design) happened, looks great. If you do a walls walk, this place is great to pop in a pint or two. Lovely people in this gay/ -gay friendly (?!) pub. All ages are welcome. Beers, short drinks on site. Plenty of tables, chairs. Bingo, DJ and many other activities are welcome the guests. By North Gate. Definitely worth a visit!

One of the most welcoming, friendly, amazing places you can visit in Chester!

We went to this pub with our nieces and nephews and they kicked us out because they said “kids aren’t allowed in a gay bar.” Nice way to teach inclusion. BTW my niece is gay.

Myself and my partner visited here a couple of times in June and again August 2023 when staying in Chester. A lovely little pub with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I think one of the nights there was also a quiz on! A nice little place.

Dj Carl was amazing! Really enjoyed karaoke, miss hertz was amazing at Music, I can’t believe that a Tuesday night out can be so much fun! Also charged my phone for me so made sure I got home safe with my phone charged! Half an hour away! Will 100% come again can’t wait till next Tuesday xxxx

I hadn't been to this gay bar for many years but almost nothing had changed. Not sure why this is listed as a gastropub because it isn't. However for a few beers in a relaxed atmosphere it serves it's purpose more than adequately

Went in on a Saturday night and had a fantastic time. The staff, DJ and customers are really friendly, and made me feel welcome. Thank you for everything.

Incence sticks being burned to disguise the awful smell. The single cask ale (Speckled Hen) looked good and clear but tasted stale and acid. Good replacement pint of Guinness finished in haste. Pleasant and friendly service. Not a pub to linger in or return to.

No food served but it didn't matter as this is a friendly and welcoming safe space for all. Booze is good, atmosphere even better

Just got back after spending Thursday and Friday night here on both nights was met by lovely members of staff and drag queen on Friday night Highly recommended pub in the Chester town will definitely come back in near future

Brilliant pub with friendly, helpful staff. The owner, Sandra, made us very welcome chatting to us for a good ten minutes. Great, buzzy atmosphere with a pumping music set created by the very smiley DJ Carl. He's a real character with a winning smile. Will definitely be back the next time we're in Chester. Highly recommend.

Lovely pub but it's a bit small. I understand the grade listed building makes it hard to make space but would recommend to those who aren't claustrophobic

Great place for a quiet drink, although gets busier when entertainment is on. Nice and friendly atmosphere.

It's quite small, but I highly recommend it if you can find a table. The atmosphere is lovely

This place puts the Fun back into going to a Pub . Great Staff and the atmosphere on most days is great . Go on a Friday if you Dare and witness the most outrageous DJ in the UK by far....the Best

I love LA. I go there to study during the day and the staff are very welcoming. The atmosphere is calming during the day and during the night, people are socializing and so kind. Highly recommend this amazing gay pub to all the gays 🏳️‍🌈

The pub was so friendly, music and dj brilliant, bar staff really helpful, would definitely visit again, and drinks reasonably priced.

Old fashioned type of pub. Decent pint of Guinness. Girls had Vodka and Gin. Dog friendly. Lots of evening entertainment advertised.

Great nights always had here. Always get great service from the fantastic bar staff. We tend to go on a Friday night, where we can enjoy Shagger drag queen and Karaoke!

We went for our dinner the pub was busy We ordered at bar staff very good and quick with putting our order in. Once our meals arrived which was not long and served by Lucy and Emma we were left to enjoy our food. Check back was completed by lovely Lucy good all round service

Great pub, very friendly greeting, very LGBTQ friendly as well. The drag queen is good if you don't mind the ranchi side of the act. The only down thing is that its a reasonably small place and it does get crowded. Would definitely go again

Great little pub but can you please tell me why the place always smells of bleach? Its so strong it really puts you off your drink.

I went with a friend for the very first time the other day on a visit to Chester, might add a lovely city. The Liverpool Arms Pub is one of the most welcoming Pubs I've been in. Went for a walk around the wall and arrived back ready for a nice cold drink, staff so friendly and welcoming, don't live close enough for this to be my local but if I did.... hell yea !!! This would be my regular haunt

Nice little local pub tucked away next to the city wall. Bunch of happy people being served by a really good and cheerful barmaid. Not a top touristy place. Just a good honest pub. We need more like the Liverpool Arms.
