Best breakfast I've had for a long while.

Absolute gem of a place cakes are fantastic the bread is lovely and fresh the staff are very friendly and helpful we were on a trip from kings norton coaches but this was worth the travel time outside and inside seating available toilets by side disabled access available keep up the good work 👍

Very friendly staff, cafe comfortable, food good and reasonable. Fed up of using service stations so googled independent dog friendly cafes - and found this!!😁😁

Coffee was lovely, but victoria sponge cake was stale.

Must say a big thank you to Dawn for the brilliant cake she made for hubby's 70th, it was spectacular,and complimented by all,truly 5 star service, would not hesitate to recommend

The Amazing Strawberry & Custard Tarts!! If you haven’t tried the amazing strawberry tarts from Devonshire Bakery, you are depriving yourself of an experience more wondrous than the Great Wall of China and definitely more delicious. I mean… the Great Wall is impressive and all, but can you eat it? No. And if you tried, you'd probably end up in a hospital with a mouthful of ancient bricks and a hefty bill for dental work. These strawberry tarts, on the other hand, are a culinary marvel. Each bite is like a journey through a strawberry field where the strawberries are handpicked by angels and kissed by gods. The crust is so flaky and buttery, it puts the pyramids of Egypt to shame. Sure, the pyramids have stood the test of time, but one nibble of this tart and you'll understand why they say good things don't last long. I devoured mine in a time that would make Usain Bolt jealous. The filling – oh, the filling! It’s a glorious, gooey, fruity concoction that makes you wonder if the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were actually just a giant strawberry patch. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, like the perfect pickup line that lands you a date with Cleopatra. And let's talk presentation. The tarts are so beautifully arranged, they could be a contender for the eighth wonder of the world. Move over, Petra! This tart’s glossy strawberry topping sparkles in the light like the Taj Mahal at sunrise. But unlike the Taj Mahal, which you can't take a bite out of (not recommended unless you fancy the taste of centuries-old marble), this tart is perfectly bite-sized and oh-so-satisfying. In summary, Devonshire Bakery’s amazing strawberry tarts are a testament to human ingenuity, more spectacular than any ancient wonder. If the Colossus of Rhodes was still around, he'd be juggling these tarts in sheer delight. So, skip the travel expenses and head to Frodsham High Street for a taste of true wonder. Just be warned – once you try them, you might start referring to your taste buds as the new wonders of the world.

Excellent staff very efficient highly recommend

We wanted to have a gorgeous breakfast in a cute cafe and we found the perfect one. The staff are so lovely and the food is amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly. We sat in the bay window and it was just so lovely.

Beautiful food but expensive, £3.85 for a potato cake?!

Me and my husband and I popped in last week for some food, and it was gorgeous!!! Staff are lovely, especially the lady who served us. I believe her name was Iona. Please give us our praise she was accommodating, and we were very impressed. Very welcoming place and would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting!!!!

Surprisingly good Cafe. Looks traditional from the outside, however we did go in went round the corner and to the back where they have a lovely space with art & sofas, great easy listening music too. Next time going to try one of the amazing looking cakes in the bakery!

This place is great for the full English breakfast if a little pricy for the area £11.95. However as often as we ask for tea with the meal, it always arrives first. You drink the tea (it’s in a pot so nothing worse than cold stewed tea) and then your Breakfast arrives. All the cakes and pies are of a good standard, but this is as much due to the non existence of competition in the area than the bakery itself. Very expensive, for example a dodged up cream egg is £4.50. Jam tart is nice but a mouthful one costs the same as 6 in Marks! Staff are very friendly. Surly Manager though in the Runcorn branch, you have to get her on a good day.

Called into the Coffee Shop at the Devonshire Bakery, for a quick lunch treat. It was fairly busy, and there looked to be plenty of staff buzzing about the place. Found a table, waited about 10 mins for the staff to take our order. A couple of sandwiches, and one serving of toast, Coffee, tea and a soft drink. Drinks arrived after 5 mins. It was 25 mins later, once the hot drinks were cold, that the food arrived! The toast was stone cold, the hot sandwich not much better, and the other sandwiches had no salad or coleslaw, as was described in the menu. For more than £7, a sandwich sat on an empty plate, with very little filling is very poor value. On mentioning the long wait to staff, who do actually ask you, if everything was okay with your meal....not a bit of understanding, you get met with a stern "were very busy" not even a sorry for your half hour wait between drinks and the food arriving, or apologies for the cold food and drink, that you have just paid £30 for!! Appalling customer service, overpriced food, £3.20 for a cup of tea!! That's more expensive than I paid in Betty's Cafe, York earlier this month!! You are in Frodsham! That's our last visit to Devonshire Bakery, take our custom, and our money elsewhere in future. Poor food, overpriced and even poorer service.

Very disappointed. My wife ordered a quiche with salad and I ordered a meat and potatoe pie with salad and 2 cappuccinos. The meals came on small plates along with small pies and a bit of lettuce and dressing. We were finished and ready to go in less than 10 minutes. The bill, over £20. We crossed over and went the chippy. We won't be going back.

Brilliant bakery. First time at the Frodsham venue today.. pork & Apple rolls, juicy meat pies....Best I've had in years. Wish I lived nearer. Recommend

A very friendly cafe with fresh food from the bakery. Really enjoyed lunch which included one of the best toasted sandwiches and salad I've had.

Can’t thank Devonshire Bakery enough for my 70th birthday cake. It was exactly what I wanted, tasted delicious and was very reasonably priced! I would definitely recommend them.

Welcomed as we entered, chose warm bacon rolls, my preference for no fat on my roll was no problem. The place was almost full and we had hot drinks and our food in less than 10 minutes. Denise who took our orders is epic. We will return.

Appalling service and hugely over priced. We waited forty minutes for an over priced jacket potato. The table next to us waited an hour for cooked breakfasts priced at £13 without a drink. If you are charging that kind of money you have to better than that. Needless to say like so many others very poor service and won be going back.

Bought two Eccles cakes they’re definitely not freshly made , they are not crumbly & moist like I’m used to from other cake shops there hard dry & stale.

Absolutely devastated. Bought a cake for my dads 50th costing over £100 and was happy to pay that as we have had beautifully decorated cakes from here in the past. I ordered the cake a month in advance. Unfortunately it looks like it was decorated last minute and wasn’t even done good. There was very little decoration even though we asked for it to be done a certain way. After calling up after receiving the cake there was one lovely lady but the woman who was in charge was quite rude about the whole situation. I’d understand if I hadn’t spent so much and I am always one to give the benefit of the doubt but after calling and being treated the way we were. Not a chance. It was my Nan who called up and had the phone on loud speaker and the way they treated her was disgusting. She was so upset and heartbroken. I will never get the look she had on her face out of my head. I truly hope anyone else going has a better experience and hope it was just a one off for us. Unfortunately I will never be buying from them again. Their service was appalling.

Called in at Frodsham to break a journey and had coffee and cake here, it was a poor choice. Their choice of cakes was uninspiring and overpriced. We chose scones as a safe option but they were poor, small and with little fruit. A motorway service station would do better. Coffee was OK. We won’t be visiting again.

Food excellent, lovely clean dining area. Only negative comment had to wait quite a while for sandwich and a sausage roll.

We popped in for lunch and once again we’re not disappointed. We ordered jacket potato with baked beans/cheese and a prawn salad sandwich on Harvester bread. The food arrived in a timely fashion and was appropriately hot and delicious. An apple pie topped with fresh cream and fruit custard tart completed the lip licking ensemble all washed down with a couple of lattes. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice but expensive and only 1 gluten free option... A cake . Disappointing

Very dissapointing, waited over 40 minutes for cooked breakfast which was not expected - had to leave whilst waiting in order to move my car and avoid getting a parking ticket. The food was ok, slightly cold due to having to leave briefly. Staff could have been more understanding. No warning of delay and no apology.

Complete joke sat for 15 minutes waiting to order, one lady asked were we ready to order we said yes & then she just disappeared to go & serve in the shop !! They saw us leaving & didn’t even have the decency to address us, obviously one place doing really well, Ridiculous!!

Very expensive.£12 for 4 cakes before buying a drop of coffee. The cakes bearly had chocolate on them (éclairs). The chocol was literally spread the thinnest amount you could physically achieve, and then packed full of the cheaper ingredient, the cream. Hard times for everyone but don't take the mick.

Steak and onion pie was lovely,bit small and expensive but nice,coffee was good would be revisiting.

Where do you start. Fifteen pounds for a coffee and breakfast, slow service and incompetent. Coffee arrives and you have to ask for sugar and a packet is put in front of you. So if you want more you have to ask again. Coffee arrived with coffee in the saucer so you have to dry it. No offer of replacements for items you don’t want, bacon was like leather and had obviously been reheated. Toast was stone cold. As was the room you eat in. They are obviously relying on the fact that there is no decent alternative near by. And their reputation for quality bread. Such a shame they can’t find a decent manager to sort it all out.

Popped in here after a cycle ride in the hills. They have a large range of delicious-looking baked goods like pies, sausage rolls and fresh cream cakes, scones, as well as chutneys and jams. You can also sit outside and enjoy a tea or fresh coffee. If this bakery was in my neighbourhood I'd be the fattest person for miles around.

We ordered coffees quiche side salad and coleslaw received tiny round quiche (cupcake size) sales would fit on a table spoon and coleslaw tiny portion My friend order jacket potato prawns in a Mary rosé sauce the spud was tiny we had to check the menu no sauce 10small prawns. Went to the Devonshire for lunch with friends,.the service was awful, my flat white was poor quality and the wait for food over 30mins. The staff were not very customer focused. The Devonshire use to be a really nice cafe, what changed ?

Very expensive for yesterday's left overs. I was appalled by the way management were speaking to the staff, could only be described as bullying. Why this establishment can keep on trading is beyond me. I would never waste my money here again

I love this place, the food and the people that serve you there are very Pleasant and kind. I would recommend it to all. They have the best Devonshire rolls 😋 very good quality pies and bakery, you have to visit it.

Very limited menu, and several items on the menu were “not available”, very small portions served with what is essentially a side salad, because they had “run out of salad”, any form of salad dressing was “unavailable”, because “they don’t have any”, took a very long time to get drinks at the table, because they were “busy doing take away orders”. Overall a VERY disappointing experience.

Dog friendly. I'll avoid it in future, there are other choices close by.

Stood at the door for 10mins,when we actually got seated waited for 20mins to be served then another 20mins for the coffee to come,lost track of time how long the food was to turn up but unacceptable to say the least..Staff not very pleasant or apologetic won't be coming back as service and organisation was shocking.

Customer service was shocking . Waited 20 mins for someone to take our order, then another 20 for the coffee to arrive . We were just about to leave . When the coffee did arrive the women plonked it on the table with no apology and left the tray . It really shouldn’t take this long to get a coffee!! . 45 mins for a sausage sandwich . They Don’t seem to care that people look fed up . We all get that people are busy but no acknowledgment or apology is not acceptable . Even when it quietened down things didn’t improve . Won’t be returning

Excellent quality food and very helpful staff

The food is really good, and would be worth it if it wasn’t for the atmosphere of the employees. Their customer service is honestly atrocious. The staff barely acknowledge you when they could be bothered to finally serve you. Been in on a few occasions where there is no line and you’re just waiting for them to stop chatting with each other to get served.

Wow what can I say this bakery has beautiful pies cakes just everything . Also they are very talented when they make birthday cakes or wedding cakes . Highly recommended.

This is not the first time I visited this bakery in Frodsham, but they seem to go out of their way to hire surly staff who don’t listen to your order and sometimes miss the please and thank you. Clearly not all members of staff...

When cake come for my daughters birthday wanted to cry it was awful . 40th birthday cake chaz plonked together no detail rushed job flavours terrible never awould I buy from here again . £350 3 tier cake looked like child made it in my opinion you have to give stars i gave 1 star but ideally would rate o stars . Should of gone to designer shop what I have payed for heap of a mess fuming I will warn everyone I no stay away from this shop

Lovely coffee, nice helpful staff

I had been wanting to visit here for a while after driving past a few times and new to the area. Very disappointed with the service we received, felt very uncomfortable and unwanted. Toasties very nice though. Would probably not visit again due to this.

Pies, pastries, croissants and cakes: they're all here, and all most excellent. Friendly staff, even under the duress of dithering customers and a long queue - definitely worth a visit for your bakery fix. Top tip: bring yourself something with which to keep occupied in case you too are behind customers who are trying to buy the entire shop...

Very very slow service.. 1 waited 15 mins to take the order 2 another 10 for coffee to come 3 Almost cancelled cakes as they came so long after the coffee 4 the two cakes we ordered were tiny and expensive .. don't bother!!

Visited a nearby camp site with next to no facilities for food or drink luckily the market town is only 2miles away. Found this little jem for breakfast. Will be visiting again to try the lunch menu spot on

We visited today and sat inside. The coffee was tasty and so was the food (pork barm, toasted tea cake and pain au chocolat). Everything arrived quickly and we enjoyed our visit. We will be returning!

The most delicious cakes and pastries! Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for, and everything is first class! We buy our Birthday cakes from here too, and they are so light and tasty.

Absolutely love this place in the lovely Market Town of Frodsham. The bakery side is absolutely heaven pies, cakes, bread etc and the cafe offers a great selection of all of the above. Love it and well worth a visit.
