I visited this place for a bite to eat whilst spending the day at Delamere Forest. On the plus side, the food and drink served seemed to be quite decent. I can't comment on the quality of the hot food, but from the looks of things, they had a decent menu and they served nice hot drinks and snacks. There was also plenty of seating inside and outside. What wasn't so good was the outdoor seating area, which was in dire need of a face lift. The area under the canopy was grubby and not at all an enticing place to eat your lunch. I was also vexed at the fact that the outside rubbish bins had a "handle" on them which you need to operate to open the bin. As the bin were very dirty, this felt very unhygienic and I felt like I was going to contract germs by touching this! I also found it strange that half way through the day, a staff member started jet washing the outdoor seating area - not that this made a significantly difference to it! The prices also made this café feel like a tourist trap more than anything else. A cup of tea, served in a paper cup and a chocolate brownie set me back over £5, which I'm sure you'd agree is really quite steep. It felt like this place was profiting off the fact that there are no other places in the immediate vicinity to get food, meaning that people were forced to part with their hard earned cash to refuel after a long walk. Overall, it's a nice café however it would definitely benefit from some reduced prices and investment in the outdoor seating area.

Disappointing and dear. The bread used for one pack of sandwiches was a stale; it was thick sliced bread so the fillings were over-powered; the butter (?) on the ham sandwich for the children’s pack was spread so thickly, my granddaughter refused to eat it as it was so sickly. On the plus side, my grandson enjoyed the sausage and chips which were delivered to our table almost before I’d finished paying. As with most cafes , some members of staff were friendly but others rather terse.

If I could give negative score for the food I would. They charge restaurant prices for the food but the quality is worse than a school cafeteria. I had the burger which was dressed up to look nice but the meat was the lowest of the low frozen burgers. I've had better burgers from a van at the side of a road for 3 quid. Barely edible. We ordered chicken nuggets and chips for our son and it came with 2 chicken nuggets. My wife had soup and it was a tiny portion of tasteless soup and 1 piece of bread. You don't even mind paying the extortionate prices if you were to come away full but they don't even have the decency to do that. The company is taking advantage of being the only option at the forest and it's quite obvious. Please please please just take a picnic with you and avoid this cafe. It will be better food with more of it for a tenth of the price.

Very good setting, decent food. Background music too loud for my parents.

Took the students in my class here today after a day building dens. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The staff were super supportive of the students with special educational needs and helped them to make choices at the counter when buying their ice creams so Thankyou! The toilets were clean and the dining area was also clean.

Good choice of options (including gluten free options). Price was slightly on the high side. Plenty of sets, both in and outside.

Came here for a takeaway latte/mocha before our woodland walk. Latte was nice, cafe is quite big and sells a variety of food/ice-cream/milkshakes…

Amazing service, although drinks were sadly a tad cold. However, the staff were lovely and the walk was great! Amazing place to visit!!

Basic cafe with plenty of seating in and out, plenty of toilets and an information centre. Me and my kids just needed a quick sugar boost to keep us motivated, I asked for a slice of ‘Nutella Crisp’ asking if they could cut it into three. I work in a bakery and I know this isn’t a lot to ask, especially when there’s not many customers there. Well no, they wouldn’t do it for me, just gave me a butter knife to do it myself. As soon as I tried to cut the cake I realised why they wouldn’t do it, absolutely rock hard, impossible to cut (especially with a butter knife). I couldn’t snap it by hand either. We just took it in turns trying to bite it, nibbling it really like rats. As I say I work in a bakery and we don’t sell terrible cakes like this, it was like a brick with cement filler. One bite was enough for me and (like my kids) I have huge passion for cake, but this was a thumbs down from all three of us. Massive disappointment in service and product.

The cafe is big and basic looking, outside space is good, but not a pretty or particularly inviting place, does the job after a walk around the gorgeous forest.

Super spacious dog friendly cafe with dog treats too! The food is lovely and the service is fast too. My children love the Cheshire ice cream too… so do us adults!

Went on a crisp Sunday afternoon and place was buzzing with visitors which naturally affected service but very clean and well staffed

It’s 1st time visiting here, I Tom my Grandaughter for lunch & we ordered sausage & chips . Basic kids meal right ? Well the sausage had that much herbs & pepper in my Grandaughter said they burnt her mouth . 😳 When tasting them myself she was very right even for me they were very peppery …. Staff should tell customers ordering these sausages or better still remove them of kids menu …

Ridiculous prices. Food is recent and portions are large. But the prices are for millionaires row.

We keep going back because they do such a good take out or dine in, especially seeing as so many people use it. Well done Delamere 8

Probably the best vegan nachos I have ever had. Admittedly I had the plate that is supposed to be for two, but they were so good and just piled high.

This cafe is a great spot for relaxing with a nice hot drink and to admire the beautiful christmas decorations.

Came in after a lovely walk around Delamere forest. We ordered two hot chocolate’s and a vanilla iced coffee. Worst hot chocolate ever! Was watery with no flavour or taste. The vanilla ice latte came in a tiny plastic cup and had no vanilla syrup in. Music was also very loud and didn’t suit the atmosphere of a cafe. Payed £13

Just looking at the Menu is frightening. The cooked food prices are completely over the top.

Fab value, excellent food. Always well prepared and a good range of tasty dishes, particularly the breakfasts and toasties.

Very nice food. Separate from this, it cost £10 to park after our walk and lunch. No blue badge concession. That's the most expensive parking ever. Unlikely to go back again as we had 3 cars. That £30 is best spent elsewhere. Which is a shame because the couple hours out was lovely, and the food was nice.

A great place to refresh and revive

Was pleasantly surprised how nice the café looked. !! Unfortunately was very disappointed at the drinks and the cost of them. I ordered a hot chocolate with marshmallows and a iced latte. The iced latte was a mere spoon of coffee with cold milk and ice cubes..The hot chocolate was slightly better but with only 2 marshmallows in . Maybe you think this is exceptable but for the price of £7.75 was a rip off. The latte I could of made better myself . I don't normally complain but but feel justified as the price didn't reflex thd quality of drinks we got . I am disappointed and I will remember to bring a flask next time..

Probably a bit harsh basing review on a couple of milkshakes but that's all we had. It was a rare October sunny Sunday and the place was pretty busy. The ice cream and milkshakes were from a separate counter to the main food so hoped it would be quick but, seemed to take longer than it should. Seemed to be a lot of staff, who were lovely and polite, but things didn't seem too well coordinated. We had the Billionaire's (£6.95) and Chocolate (£5.95) milkshakes. I had high hopes when I saw how much ice cream went into the blenders when they were being made. And yes, the taste was nice but they were very thin, not the luxury thick milkshake I was expecting and also they were very small for the price. I also noticed that about half of what had been made for each one was left in the blenders, which I assume then went straight down the sink so not great really.

Very clean, modern cafe, food is amazing and super friendly staff. The facilitys are superb. The car parking is reasonable for a days parking, super family outing place , and the forest is outstanding place for a run 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️, or family walks , adventures.

Good food and nice dog friendly cafe but the kids food was a bit spicy without any warning on the menu. Chicken goujons were like southern fried and chips were quite peppery.

Great place to stop and have a nice coffee and a treat, after a lovely walk in Delamere. Car park next to the visitors centre, easy access for all. Toilets always clean and well maintained. Visitors information center next door with maps and updates.

Nice , clean and fresh place - great for small break while walking in the Forest

We have ordered spaghetti meatballs, chicken salad, and chips. The salad could be called tasty, but the chicken in it was old and chewy, you couldn't eat it, the meatballs were delicious but spaghetti was terrible, and portion of fries was a joke. The place is beautiful but food you better take with you

Amazing chicken and chorizo risotto

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at the cafe. We used the "Grab and Go" side window, but ended up over 20 minutes for our drinks order to be done and then wrong. Be careful to ask how long the wait is when ordering as it is not communicated. Very disappointing.

Excellent food and service. Very clean throughout, first class all round, loved it. Started our day off in fine fettle after such a good breakfast here.

Nice cafe I only had coffee and cake both were very nice. The food menu looked good too however, and reasonably priced. Dog friendly so a bonus after walking the dogs around the forest.

Large cafe, staff friendly and helpful. We came on a weekday lunchtime during term time and there were lots of empty tables. Food was tasty but on the expensive side for what it is.

Plenty of food and drink on offer, very tasty as well. The building inside and out is gorgeous and kept very clean. There are many toilet cubicles available and they were very clean also. Only problem we had were wasps! Obviously not the fault of the café and nothing they can do about it, but it definitely did affect my experience.

A great place to relax & reflect after a walk in Delamere forest with great coffee. Staff are very friendly and helpful as well.

Only loses one star due to the price of the food, while cakes and drinks are average for this type of venue, the food is more restaurant prices and while the cafe is nice, the staff are friendly and efficient, this is not a restaurant and the prices need to reflect that. It could be a case of lower prices may attract more customers!! Maybe they are trying to generate funds for the parks upkeep but this is not the way to do that. Otherwise, the park is excellent and a pleasure to visit, with the various walks, the cycle trail etc. I won't mention the cost of bike hire, £25 for 3hrs or the cost for car parking, £3.50 for 1hr £6.00 for 2, Ooops!! Get a membership £70 that incudes car parking if you want to visit often.

Twice I ordered peri peri chips on 2 different days which i must stress is an extra 50 pence for the peri peri spice added to the fries compared to normal skin on fries, and on both seperate occasions i didnt recieve the peri peri chips I believe on purpose. also my friend had green bits in his chips

Spent £40 in the cafe on drinks, cakes, and snacks only to have my children made to feel like El Chapo & Bonnie Parker as they ate their homemade sandwiches, which we brought with us due to their food allergies. Understand food to be consumed outside, however it was a typical summers day - cold and raining & with no food available that catered for their allergy, what am I to do? I KNOW.... My 1 year old son (chapo) and 5 year old daughter (bonnie) are meant to sit outside in the cold whilst the wife and I lap up our overpriced brunch 😶‍🌫️ Staff need to be trained on how to communicate with humans and understand the needs of parents, not as if they're running the lunch slot in Strange Ways! Gruffalo Trail was good, though 🚵‍♂️ I've added a pic of the kids standing outside!

Nice new cafe, loads of space, more choice. You have a chance of a table to sit at now.

Nice coffee and a good selection of vegan food available

Pretty disappointing experience at the cafe. Ordered two hot chocolates, which were £3.25 so on the relatively pricey side but figured they’d be properly made with some cream on top. Low and behold, the server placed them under a machine and pressed a button- they were poured in 20 seconds! No real friendliness in the service and to add insult to injury they were given in disposable paper cups which is just wasteful. A lack of sheltered and secure bike racks too meant ours got wet outside. Expectations were high given the relatively new building but fell well short- much better cafes in the area.

Simple food & drink served in this new forest centre cafe setting. Well staffed and well organised, friendly and efficient. Photo is of the centre but taken from the top of Old Pale Hill - well worth the climb!

First time at this venue and I was happy with the quality of the lunch, it was excellent. Baked potatoes were beautifully cooked with crispy skins so no microwaved soft ones here. The Decaff cappuccino was very good (although it could have been slightly hotter). The staff all seemed very young and were very helpful and polite. Particular mention should go to William who changed my chair from a hard chair to one with padding as I have sciatica. As we left the cafe we called at the ice cream stand and we were greeted by Luke who again was very pleasant. We will return in the future.

Excellent meal and delicious coffee. Lovely positive and helpful staff, especially two young men, one was called Luke who was outside at the ice cream kiosk. Another was the young man who brought us our meals. He asked us if we had everything we had ordered and made sure we were happy. He later delivered our drinks, there was genuine pride in his job. I think his name was William. Well done. I will be back.

Nice to go in after a walk or doing the parkrun there. Very busy as expected but didn't overly delay the order.

Big airy cafe. A little featureless and bland but good food and nice atmosphere on a rainy Park Run morning.

Noticed a change of staff on Coffee M/C for the better... Today the Coffee was very good, nice and hot, well presented. Swift polite service. Tables seam to be cleared and sanitised quickly after customers leave. Good atmosphere.

This is an excellent cafe with friendly staff and good service. Dogs are welcome and the cafe is set close to both the car park and forest. The coffees are strong, which I like and my son loved his hot chocolate. The toilets appeared clean too! The cost of bike hire was expensive but we had a lovely time still.

I’ve been visiting Delamere for years and have watched it evolve to great heights. The new cafe has always offered great service and a lovely relaxing atmosphere, until today that is! I had a terrible experience with a member of staff over a cup of ice! This woman who I understand is the manager was screaming at staff and customers whilst I was in the queue. After I had ordered my drinks, my daughter decided she’d prefer her coffee iced. So, I returned to the counter and politely asked for a large cup of ice so that I could covert the hot coffee to an iced coffee. This lady restricted me to three cubes of ice, saying I couldn’t have any more! I explained that wasn’t enough to make the coffee iced, and she slammed a cup on the bar with just a few more cubes. She was so rude and her manner was so aggressive that I was very shocked. In fact , I was so taken back that I asked her what her name was? She ignored me, so I asked again and again. She turned to me and screamed GO AWAY!!! Honestly, I have never experienced such poor service and rudeness over a few ice cubes. This lady (with red hair) was just awful. I wanted to make a formal complaint. Her poor staff were terrified of her.

Quick snack here which was well presented and very tasty. Sat outside on the provided areas which are very clean and tidy.

Very expensive food for what it is. Cheese toastie was very expensive with not much flavour and quite basic. Decent place to get a coffee but wouldnt go out my way to order the food. There is a nice place to sit outside with an icecream.

Amazing now it has all been revamped, indoor and outdoor (some undercover) spaces, dog friendly too. Selection of cakes and food was huge and coffee was great

Miss the atmosphere and quality of food and service in the old cafe. Plenty of seating in the new one and still a good location. Parking is very overpriced

Great cafe to start/end your walk or bike ride on the Forest. They sell hot/cold food, snacks, coffee, ice cream, cake etc. It’s spacious, lots of seating available, clean and the staff are friendly. The only bad thing is that it’s really overpriced - £2.10 for a can of coke, £1.20 for a pack of TWO Oreos and £5 for a 330ml can/bottle of beer. If you don’t mind paying these prices then you’ll enjoy it.

Parking is £10. Coffee is decent tasting but not cheap. Dogs are allowed. But maybe you could have a dog free area?

Very friendly and helpful staff, can eat in or outside, both areas clean and tidy, Chose Lamb burger accompanied with chips, delicious , tastiest I ve had, plenty choice of cakes, with option to take out, especially good option if off to concert, staff happy to provide bag to go for cake. Great place , would highly recommend

Visited today never been to the cafe, thought it would be worth a quick bite to eat. Both ordered a panini (cheese and ham) both poor to be honest and certainly not worth the cost. My 4 year old had the spaghetti and meatballs these...

The price of the car park is outrageous.

£6 all day parking in a massive carpark, well marshalled and the toilets are clean and plentiful They do have a good cake selection with a great choice of hot and cold beverages. Not to mention the variety of ice creams available. The staff taking your order are the no eye contact type with no customer service skills at all. "Computer said noooo" springs to mind. You do have to remind them they forgot things from your order, or they made the drink you didn't ask for. Be best if they installed Ordering Kiosks. They get your order right. £23 for 2 cheesy beans on toast, cake and coffee. There's lots of empty tables to choose from, so finding a seat after a stressful ordering experience is welcomed. The kitchen do take pride in their work. The food is actually really nice, Hot and fresh.

It's in the heart of Delamere forest and I always park somewhere by the road and head to the cafe... Where it is the best option for having a snack, coffee or WC after 1~2 hours of walking in the forest. Or you can park there and enjoy having a coffee with an astonishing view.

How can they justify charging 75p extra because I asked for oat milk in my coffee blatantly exploiting people

Very much a family spot and I came here with friends after doing go ape. They're foods were ok and they are vegan, though a lack of vegan ice-cream was an issue from my party. As a low carb eater they had zero options for myself so I just sat there with a coffee. Bags of nuts would be the most minimum option.

Visited with my husbands daughter and grandchildren. We had cake and coffee. COLD COFFEE, I emailed the cafe directly but they didn’t even bother to respond. Don’t waste your money take a flask.

Tuesday 25th My friend and I both ordered kids spaghetti meatballs. Our other friend ordered a full meal. We were all astounded by the portion sizes. I struggled to finish the kids meal but as it was absolutely amazing tasting I had to. The meatballs were to die for. The staff were lovely and as dogs are allowed inside the atmosphere was perfect too as while we waited for our food my friends and I decided to return to being little kids and pet the dogs on the table next to ours. It was a swell day and wasnt as pricey as I thought especially considering how much food we got and how good it was. It was nice and clean and the wait time was not long for the food.

Came for breakfast on Wednesday (26/4.) Could not fault a single thing, great attentive staff, very good coffee and one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The menu has an excellent range and has something for everyone, I can’t wait to come back and...

We visited delamere over the weekend, not the best weather but a lovely afternoon walk, followed by visiting the cafe for some lunch. They had just launched a new menu which we seen on Facebook, after reading negative comments about the pricing we can assure...

Light and airy cafe. Food was good but a bit expensive for what it was.

Lovely seeing all the different dog breeds,clean toilet facilities and a good variety of food to choose from.we had 3 hot chocolates 1 Fanta,1 brownie and a cake just short of 20 pound.

Absolutely terrible service. Wanted to order a pizza, after being ignored by the staff finally one of the members approached to say their pizza is terrible and he recommends us to orde a stone baked one from outside that was much more expensive!

Offer separate queue for takeaway coffees, yet can only offer alternatives milks such as soy oat etc at food queue! Ridiculous and discriminatory. Rude miserable staff at tills in cafe and serving too

Only had coffee and cake here, both very good. It is quite expensive though. Lots of tables inside and outside . Bright and clean. Friendly staff. Dog friendly.

Went in here for some food after a mild hike, the burger I ordered was ok, but had clearly been microwaved and left in a bit long. The onion rings were similarly overcooked but the chips it came with were great. The staff were friendly and the service was good and very quick. Overall would recommend

Really good, very busy as you’d expect! Coffee was nice, large area both inside and out to sit and enjoy, also good access to toilets which are nice and clean!!

So expensive for a walk in the woods, The forest is stunning but the car park prices and the food prices are ridiculous.

Visited the Delamere Forest cafe today and the food was wonderful! Staff were very friendly.

Not been to Delamere forest for about five years. But I was really surprised how much it had changed the cafe was welcoming for families and pets.but make sure you get there before three as food stops then. Toilet were clean, and walks were really enjoyable. Needs more poo bins for your pets. And bins for rubbish at picnic sites

First time at the cafe and it was fine, A busy time as it was half term for the children but the queue went down quickly. We had coffee and cake which was lovely, especially the capaccino cake. A lovely area.

Coffee was cold despite requesting extra hot at the counter. Asked for another one and given a cup of froth. Took it back again. If you are paying £3.25 a cup you expect it to be good. Food over priced. £9.95 for a jacket potato...
