Very local residents pub. Seating outside but mainly seems to be for the smokers as fag butts everywhere. Beer was cheap. There is a pool table . Toilets not the most desirable. One out of order, one the toilet didn’t lock and one that just looks shoddy . Very old building just on the outskirts of Chester centre . No I don’t think I would go back, as at times as I felt very uncomfortable.

I was on route to work when my car broke down. Fortunately it broke down next to the pub! The regulars helped to push my car to a safe place so as not to cause an obstruction in the road. The bar-lady got me a coffee and was most friendly. Everyone in the pub where really friendly. I would definitely visit again; but preferably under better circumstances! I have huge gratitude for all that helped me. Service was excellent 👌 Highly reccomended Thank you 😊 P.s. RAC came and I got towed home!

I've been here a few times on pub crawls etc and have found each experience to be generally very good. Atmosphere is fine, relaxed and good natured. Pricing is fair and the bar staff are very pleasant: serving quickly and with a warm smile and a bit of banter. What more could you ask for! :) I'd have no hesitation in recommending to others.

The Stanley Arms Pub is a fantastic little pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Chester I take. This is a traditional pub , a nice interior, pubby decor and furnishings ,a cool looking serving bar,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub all housed in a wonderful looking building. We were here on a Thursday afternoon ,pub was warm as was the welcome from the barmaid,we ordered Carling lager, served chilled ,we grabbed a table were we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. Carling lager is not my usual tipple, more a real ale and craft beer fan myself but I must say the lager was cold and sparkling and very tasty. We really enjoyed our lager's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Stanley Arms Pub we had a great time. The Stanley Arms Pub is easy to locate along Brook Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday,11am till 11pm. Friday & Saturday,10am till 2am. Sunday,11am till 11 pm. A great pub, well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Stanley Arms on Brook street is without doubt one of the best local pubs we visited in Chester on a two day city break. This is a superb looking pub that has a well kept multi-roomed interior with lots of good seating options throughout the whole pubs interior and nice decor and furnishings. This is a pub we have visited so many times over the years as it offers a great range of drinks and is a proper local pub.on our trip to here we had a few glasses of lager from the Carling brewery which where perfectly served and well priced. The Stanley Arms is well worth a visit and is very easy to find from Hoole Way bus stop its a short walk.(This is my first review of the Stanley Arms). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-10.00-02.00. Sunday-11.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Hoole Way bus stop.

Located along Brook Street is The Stanley Arms Pub,a pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip into Chester I take. Went to this pub on Saturday 3rd August with my 2 sisters and both there husbands, had drank 1 previous glass of wine with a meal so was far from drunk! On arrival my sisters put there bags in the lockers provided so that we could have a dance to the karaoke, this how ever did not happen as we asked for a song and was refused the chance to sing or even purchase any drinks at the bar by the very unprofessional and rude manager ‘tom’ this man then continued to give us abuse and told us we are not welcome at the pub and that are faces don’t fit! We are not from Chester (thank god after the way we was spoken to) Tom then told us he is going to ‘ruin are night’ by putting us on a so called ‘pub watch’ this means he had taken photographs of us without any consent and sent them around the area to try and prevent us getting into any other bars. Unfortunately for Tom his plan of ruining are night didn’t quite work as we were welcome with open arms into the other bars were they were laughing and joking with us about how over the top and pathetic the Stanley arms actually is! And that this happens to a lot of people who visit there. A family of five actually left the pub after telling us they will not spend another second/penny in there after hearing the way this rude man spoke to 3 women. If you are looking for a warm welcome/friendly bar to have a drink in then avoid this pub at all costs, this is the last place on earth you want to be. Below are pictures of Tom what I did in-fact ask permission to take because as you can see he is smugly smiling for them.

Angela and I went into here for a bit to eat, after just checking in at the hotel. So, one outside said food coming soon and another one said food being served from local produce. Confused, we decided to pop in and ask. The guy behind the bar was really polite and welcoming, he said the kitchen was closed, but they could do us something. We asked for pie and chips on a small menu, he did respectfully say, I don’t think we can do that. Then a lovely lady no problem I’ll sort. I must considering the kitchen was closed, we steak and ale pie, all being a small piece, but I’m not complaining, fresh broccoli, fresh cauliflower and beautifully tender peas and homemade chips from proper potatoes(spuds) to me. The flaky pastry was probably the I have ever had, bloody gorgeous. They did not have to do it, but we really appreciated They staff and the customers was really friendly. Thank you very much.

Walked in around 11am on a Saturday watching Chorley, just wanted a drink before the game. On arrival landlord disgrace of a man lied and said they were closed. Then when we questioned why people were in, were told he didn’t like the look of us for no reason, we had coats and trainers on, wouldn’t mind but not exactly an up market pub from the look of it. Anyone going to Chester avoid this bar as the landlord is a joke and to judge someone on apparanrance is laughable, go to the town crier and closest Wetherspoons.

The Stanley Arms Pub is a pub we always tend to drop into as it's on the way into the city centre and it's a nice pub that serves some great beers. The pub is quite nice,a beautiful exterior ,it looks like what a pub should look like, the interior is a bit more lived in ,a nice serving bar, tv's to enjoy the sport and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, it's a lovely back street pub. We were here on a Saturday afternoon, pub was busy with a good atmosphere, we noticed they had Wynchwood Brewery hobgoblin on draught and at £3 A pint great value for money, we got a nice positioned table near the tv were we just chilled out with our real ales and just relaxed and planned out the day ahead in this beautiful city. I really enjoy the beers brewed by Wynchwood Brewery especially the hobgoblin gold ,it's such a good session beer, very easy to drink, it is in fact one of my favourite real ales. We both really enjoyed our real ales in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Stanley Arms Pub is easy to locate on Brook Street. Went in last Friday. Very poor service, barman hadn't a clue. Put as much beer and lager in the drip trays as he put in the glasses. Licensee that is your profits. Meaningful staff training is urgently required. I was served a pint of cask ale in a stemmed lager glass that was after he tried to pull a pint from the pump that wasn't in use, he managed to get an inch of gunge in the glass before moving to the correct pump, still using the same glass. Luckily for my health he did swap to the overgrown wine glass. When I eventually got the pint with a 3 inch head on it the beer was quite drinkable. I am a retired hotelier, publican and am a CAMRA member. I cannot recommend this pub..

Called in at The Bridge Cafe Bistro on a busy Sunday morning in Chester. Lucky to get a table as the Cafe was very busy. I could only see 3 members of staff, 2 were cooking and a young man taking orders. There seemed to be no order with how customers orders were taken and after 15 minutes I had to get the attention of the young man to remind him that our table hadn’t ordered. It was still another 10 minutes until our order was taken by a young lady who had just arrived for work. The food and drinks eventually arrived, plenty on the plate of the full English breakfast. It was mid tier quality produce which was tasty enough and very filling. It’s a busy place and tables were filled as soon as they were vacated. Just need more staff from early doors so that customers aren’t waiting too long. I am still recommending The Bridge Cafe Bistro.

Our main course was accompanied by ‘Fondant Potatoes’, which were anaemic, hard and inedible - clearly undercooked. We pointed this out politely and after a little while replacement potatoes arrived with an apology from the chef. These were as poor as the originals so we ate the meal without them. When our table was cleared we mentioned that we had not been able to eat the potatoes. With undisguised irritation, and in a frankly pretty surly manner, we were told that no one had complained about them before. The member of staff then admitted to not having tried them herself, when asked. Having decided to leave and get coffee elsewhere we went to pay. It was clear that anyone with any authority had made themselves scarce, leaving a young waitress to deal with us as we reiterated how disappointing we had found the experience. An indictment of both how staff and customers are treated here. To be clear, this was a very poor meal throughout. A slab of tasteless rough chicken liver pate clearly fresh from its shrink wrap and the fridge, accompanied by slices of processed brown bread toasted. Zero evidence of the advertised blue cheese in a mushroom starter. A microwave hot fish pie with barely 3 pieces of fish in the entire dish. My parents have been visiting the Boot Inn for family celebration meals for the past 38 years. This was a poignant visit since it marked what would have been my Dad’s birthday, and the place was a favourite of his. We had looked forward to a congenial and pleasant experience, which sadly was not to be. I cannot see us returning.
